It's only the vultures who are after Venezuelas huge oil and mineral reserve support this "self-declared" puppet puppet president.

The current clown car administration that you constantly praise is leading the charge.

And what do the Dems have to say about meddling in Venezuela? I haven't heard a peep from them.

Irrelevant.

At least Putin is siding with the UN recognizing the current government as legitimate.

Wasn't in dispute.

So... EU, US meddling good, Russian meddling bad? I'm curious what the russiagate crowd thinks. The silence is deafening.

@fredw' Russian meddling bad?

Any nation meddling in another nation's political affairs is bad. (Note: I despise black-white answers, but made an exception in this case thinking that's the only way partisan extremists - and trolls - understand things).

I'm curious what the russiagate crowd thinks.

Given there are probably hundreds of millions, perhaps billions in the 'Russiagate crowd', I assume individuals within that group have an array of opinions. But I know partisan extremists - and trolls - want to try to make people think the world is only black or white. They're the latest incarnation of the Manichaean world made up of good struggling with evil, of angels v. devils, of nationalism v. globalism, i.e. of the belief systems pushed by Fascists, Stalinists and other forms of totalitarianism.

Awesome. Glad we agree.

(Sigh)

Let Maduro have his regime. Let him play his game. Watch Venezuela eat jellybeans. It just reflects more poorly on Russia, China & Cuba.

This is a replay of the U.S. - Latin American game. Latin American country elects a progressive leader. U.S. destabilizes said Latin American country and blames progressive leader. U.S. orchestrates overthrow of progressive leader and installs a puppet "legitimate" leader. All of the U.S.'s allies, be they conservative or social democratic, agree.

That cropped picture does make Guaido "appear" popular; reminds me of the toppling of the Saddam statue...

I wonder why they chose that pic? And why didn't he run in the previous election?

@rawbeer I wonder why they chose that pic?

Here's the pic RT chose. I wonder why they chose that pic. And used that headline.

Actually I don't wonder.

The free, for-profit press markets info to specific markets, as does state sponsored press like RT. There are lots of media outlets for individuals to choose from ranging from those pushing either extreme perspective, and/or all points in between.

And can you believe this: there are people who try to undermine individual's rights and abilities to access info. They attack media that doesn't back their perspective.

Maduro: ‘David v Goliath’ conflict between Venezuela & US will leave Trump ‘stained with blood’ https://www.rt.com/news/450618-maduro-us-david-goliath/
