There is no reason for Iran to continue abiding by a deal that was canceled by the US, especially if the other signatories go along with the sanctions.

@RawBeer, I don't know who down-voted you on your comment, but I fixed that. At least for now. Trump caused this problem; it's his to fix. The EU, France, Germany and the UK have very deep ties to the US dollar. That's the problem.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Good luck, but I'm starting to wonder if Trump's goal is to get Iran to enrich again. Walking away from an effective deal with full, verified compliance doesn't make much sense any other way.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Iran is playing Trump’s game and make Europe to side with Trump.

Trump want Iran to look untrustworthy and Europe to look weak.

Trump wins, Iran and Europe loose.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

The only one to blame for all this is de Donnie!

He (once again) walked away from a good deal, another Obama-era achievement.

Hope the EU members/representatives are smart enough to not follow his (deDonnie's) examples!

The diplomatic chiefs of the EU, France, Germany and Britain said Tuesday they were "extremely concerned" and urged Iran to reverse its decision to breach a limit on enriched uranium reserves under a 2015 nuclear deal.

The EU, France, Germany, and the UK - or what used to be our front-line allies that stood shoulder to shoulder with us against the Soviet Union, and other dictators and tyrants around the world.

Now under Trump, we yuck it up with Putin, back-slip Kim Jong Un, and call MBS a "great guy" - and insult and denigrate our allies.

We unilaterally pull out of the Iran Treaty which was keeping Iran from processing weapons grade nuclear materiel - and create a crisis that will result in another middle east war. The last one which Trump called "the single worst mistake in our country's history" - yet he hires one of the architects of that war as is National Security Adviser.

This is the foreign policy you get with an imbecile and Russian puppet in the White House...

Correct:

There is no reason for Iran to continue abiding by a deal that was canceled by the US, especially if the other signatories go along with the sanctions.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Better EU, France, Germany and UK should force to USA to come back to deal.

But they don't???

3 ( +4 / -1 )

I really don't like Iran (or any country) stepping up to become a nuclear power.

But I can hardly blame them. The US is essentially ramping up war on them. They ripped up a peaceful working agreement, put nothing in place, then put in crazy sanctions to force them to do the thing they had already agreed to, with a working agreement in place.

If I were Iranian, I would see my country as being backed into a corner, and being given no means of escape. Agree - lose. Don't agree - lose. What other option is there other than build a weapon that makes sure the US will treat them with the same respect and love as they do North Korea?

7 ( +8 / -1 )

What other option is there other than build a weapon that makes sure the US will treat them with the same respect and love as they do North Korea?

And Russia and China.

He (once again) walked away from a good deal, another Obama-era achievement.

That deal would have let Iran eventually acquire nukes. And let's not forget Iran's support of terrorist groups like Hezbollah.

This was written 4 years ago, but it's still just as valid today -

Here are 10 ways Obama's Iran nuclear daydream fails

https://www.usnews.com/opinion/articles/2015/04/27/10-ways-obamas-iran-nuclear-agreement-fails

That deal would have let Iran eventually acquire nukes.

Apparently you people think acquiring them now is a preferable outcome to some vague date in the future you guys have decided exists.

That's about as ridiculous logic as has ever existed.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Trump wants a war with Iran - for America it's unfinished business. Like the war in Iraq of 2003: that was to complete the Bush Senior war of 1991... American presidents need wars every now and then to make them appear strong to their core voters, and to convince foreign powers that America is still the great dictator, sorry leader of the 'free world'.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Shame on the European Union, they were just a pact of losers!  Iran is a problem is because that country reject the "PetroDollars", it is nothing to do with Uranium enrichment or weaponrizing! Iran is far behind North Korea over this!

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

"The diplomatic chiefs of the EU, France, Germany and Britain said Tuesday they were "extremely concerned" and urged Iran to reverse its decision to breach a limit on enriched uranium reserves under a 2015 nuclear deal."

Then these spineless nations should "urge'' the US to reverse its decision. Instead of kowtowing to the US, instead of being intimidated by the US, they should continue as they were, ignore the US sanctions. Its time the nations of the globe started to regain their sovereignty for the US. Without the Western Wimps, the US is a drop in the bucket; stop being intimidated.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

The Iranians have no interest in a bomb and never did. Trump is just doing the bidding of the zionists and Saudis....

The war with Iraq only resulted in more influence in Iraq for the Iranians. The US backed Saudi initiative in Syria failed miserably resulting in yet more influence for the Iranians. The Zionists disastrous adventure in Lebanon in 2006 resulted in Iranian backed Hezbollah giving them a very bloody nose. And the ongoing shame in Yemen where Saudi Arabia’s Pakistani mercenaries (also known as the Saudi army) are losing to the Shia militias backed (but not by much) by Iran.

Nobody really wants a war with Iran. Especially the world economy which would quickly go down the toilet.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

In classic Neville Chamberlain style, Iran has been deceiving the EU ever since the disastrous 2015 nuclear deal.

Even after giving Iran millions of dollars, the EU "progressive" leadership cabal have been lied to and let down by their muslim masters. . . again. Will these Grubers ever learn?

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Then these spineless nations should "urge'' the US to reverse its decision.

Absolutely will never happen.

Instead of kowtowing to the US, instead of being intimidated by the US, they should continue as they were, ignore the US sanctions.

They don’t want to cut their own throats, these leaders are not stupid.

Its time the nations of the globe started to regain their sovereignty for the US. Without the Western Wimps, the US is a drop in the bucket; stop being intimidated.

Yeah, the possibility of that happening would be like saying for certainty Hillary Clinton will be incarcerated for life.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

That deal would have let Iran eventually acquire nukes.

Apparently you people think acquiring them now is a preferable outcome to some vague date in the future you guys have decided exists.

Uh, no. How do you get things so twisted, Strangerland?

The Iranians have no interest in a bomb

No, no interest at all. Just like the Saudis.

Trump wants a war with Iran

That must be why he called off the military attack after a drone was downed.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Probably Saudi has at least two nuclear bombs manufactured by Pakistan.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Don't worry, Trump fans. By the weekend Iran will be enriching again and your long, national nightmare of a working, verified deal by a Democratic President will be behind you.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Don't worry, Trump fans. By the weekend Iran will be enriching again and your long, national nightmare of a working, verified deal by a Democratic President will be behind you.

Ahh, the President That believed that stupid deal. Well, that’s over with. Let Iran do it’s worst.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

I think it would behoove us all to think of Iran's future. Who will their religios leader who also decides everything in Iran socially internationally and also militarily, be after the present one has left this Earth?

No one knows,

and yet it is still ok letting have nukes and weapons grade plutonium?

Iran's future is so uncertain I can't believe we would be sure of anything to do with them. Oil, war, nukes, social or political statuses etc. I mean what exactly are their true core interest?

So yes, they neesd to not turn back but run back, and no, they should not have nuclear capabilities until they have some sort of clear vision for the future. That the whole world knows about. Who can blame Europe for they're stance on this one? Nobody, and they are right in their request. Peace.

Christopher Lowery: "Iran's future is so uncertain I can't believe we would be sure of anything to do with them. Oil, war, nukes, social or political statuses etc. I mean what exactly are their true core interest?"

We are all sure of the US "core interest"; world domination, total economic, political and military supremacy. And don't forget that the US is the only nation that has used a nuclear bombs against a civilian population and considered using nuclear bombs during the Korean war.

Don't for a minute think the US would not use nuclear weapons to gain supremacy, as it has in the past.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

It is political theater, and the Trump haters should be glad that right now there is guy in charge who does not want war and thinks outside the box. And not some necon/neolib warmonger like bomberman McCain or "we came we saw he died, ha ha ha" Clinton.

But they never seem to think beyond the "orange man baad" fixation.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Anyone with half a brain would know that the Iranian leadership would renege on their promise. The level of intelligence -- or, rather the lack there of -- the top EU politicians possess is on full display for the entire world to see.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

We are all sure of the US "core interest"; world domination, total economic, political and military supremacy.

If you want other countries to attain equal status, tell them to drastically cut entitlements, build up their own military and stop asking for US assistance, access to our goods and services, movies, music, books, computers, hardware and software etc....

And don't forget that the US is the only nation that has used a nuclear bombs against a civilian population

Not without reason....

and considered using nuclear bombs during the Korean war.

Yup.

Don't for a minute think the US would not use nuclear weapons to gain supremacy, as it has in the past.

Depends, if Iran is that suicidal in thinking it can destroy the US, at that point I wouldn’t want to be in their shoes.

@rlperez@hotmail.com.au

In this day and age, there are many who have disagreements with U.S. policy, and their reasons are various. However, the point is that the policies are laid bare for the whole world to see, to be either endorsed or rebuked.

Not so with Iran. Every policy his secretly discussed and endorsed and such and then the Iran's supreme religious leader has to give the final approval.

https://www.voanews.com/world-news/middle-east-dont-use/how-irans-government-works

No 'real' public debate, no fourth estate to criticize and critique.

I mean look at the situation right now. Iran is actually trying to hold Europe hostage.

https://en.radiofarda.com/a/u-s-calls-for-international-response-to-iran-s-nuclear-blackmail-/30004948.html

Now that right there, that's dangerous.

No, on this one Europe is right, they shouldn't be blackmailed. And Iran needs to come out of the shadows Peace.

"We regret this decision by Iran, which calls into question an essential instrument of nuclear nonproliferation."

You mean the same “essential instrument “ that failed to stop North Korea from getting the bomb? The Europeans are still getting played by the terrorist Ayatollahs. Either that or they are trying to help their multinational corporations get their hands on some terrorist cash. Regardless the Euros are acting narrowly and in their own self interests while pretending to care about global peace. Shame!

Texas A&M: Anyone with half a brain would know that the Iranian leadership would renege on their promise.

Only a Trump fan would renege on a promise then say someone is an idiot for trusting the other side who is keeping the promise.

Is that what CNN tells you? You realize that that that story has nothing to do with reality, don't you? OK, as scratch that.... as a consumer of the corporate globalist fake news, of course you don't. Sigh...

Nice rebuttal dude. Yet here we sit, trump has ripped up an agreement with nothing in place, and now the result that deal was meant to prevent is happening now. And your rebuttal is “no we didn’t” and not even any alternative facts. If you guys don’t like us pointing out how pathetic your country’s actions are, you should probably campaign against your country doing those things.

Faulty American intelligence lead to the total destruction and deaths of more then 800,000 people, men, women and children in the country next door, Iraq. A war which also went into Afghanistan killing even more. Cost of that beyond the loss of human lives was $6 trillion, more then 25% of their national debt.

So lets told say who is so low on intelligence.Faulty American intelligence lead to the total destruction and deaths of more then 800,000 people, men, women and children in the country next door, Iraq. America and its allies have killed more people in the Middle East than any other nation including Iran and Syria.

More Muslims have been killed over the passed 25 years by other Muslims more than by any other outside nation overall and as we speak, still are killing each.

still does equal the numbers killed by America and its allies. They don't have the firepower and weapons of mass destruction like carpet and buster bunker bombs. But all this began because America destroyed the countries and put nothing back in place making it worse than before those wars.

America and its alllies are to blame for most of the current situation in the Middle East.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

still does equal the numbers killed by America and its allies.

No, it does, to make the ludicrous claim that America is predominantly responsible for the Deaths of some Muslims is completely inaccurate. Many Muslims died in war with the US, many Americans died brutally by Muslims during the war, but overall, more Muslims have killed each other over Americans that have killed them.

Guess you would have belonged to Frank Zappa's band "Mothers of Invention".

'Lonesome Cowboy Burt' was written about those who became Trump fans.

Kind of like the Iran agreement.

Seems to be a problem with America.
