I saw on American TV that the "protestors" have taken police and civilians prisoner. The protestors have been using firearms and throwing gasoline bombs. My guy thinks the prisoners taken by the "protestors" have already been killed. Both of us find it strange how only the protestor side is shown on western TV.

Indeed, those are western backed and armed violent protestors. The government has every right to crack down on them.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Same as the Thai protesters being shot in the head fleeing altercations too?

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

kurisupisu the "protestors" are attacking the police with deadly force. The police have every right to use deadly force back. It is not a protest by a violent uprising. The opposition is trying to overturn the results of a democratically held election by force.

YuriOtani : A very good observation, I have to say ! You have seen a small, but clear example of a Big Information War. The War that western world keep supporting against Slavic countries. for many, many years since Cold War times. The receipt is rather simple : call White as Black and vice versa. For instance, they always call terrorists and bloody murderers as "freedom fighters" in case if they speak about situations inside Russia, Ukraine, Serbia etc. Ordinary american folks are too lazy and semi-educated to ask questions and make independent conclusions by their own minds and blindly believe to talking heads from CNN or Fox News.

Ukraine should just split into West Ukraine and East Ukraine, and let the other do what they want.

In this case Autonomous Republic of Crimea will follow eastern territories of Ukraine....

Nov. 30, 2013 night - about 300 of protesters were severely beaten by the riot police at Independence Square in Kyiv, Ukraine widely known as EuroMaidan now. (Nobody still understand why? They were ready to go home in the morning themselves.) Dec. 1, 2013 - hundreds of thousands came to EuroMaidan demanding one thing - resignation and punishment of those who were guilty of the beating. That was the beginning. Nobody has been punished but the protesters. About 100 peaceful protesters were shot to death by the government snipers on Feb 19, 2014 instead... About 10 policemen died as well. Yes, they used "gasoline bombs" or Molotov cocktail but not to attack the police but to protect EuroMaidan from being dispersed by the police. The problem now is that the protesters don't believe neither parliamentary opposition leaders nor the government. For those who are interested in this story, you are welcome: https://www.facebook.com/euromaidanpr

Сергій Снігур Yes, they used "gasoline bombs" or Molotov cocktail but not to attack the police but to protect EuroMaidan from being dispersed by the police

These are well organised and well trained groops of fighters from West Ukraine

with Molotov cocktails and firearms

they attacking police stations, City Halls, burn them down together with the staff

They seizing military bases and taken heavy weapons and explosives under control ...

this is coup d'etat and civil war at full scale

Insurgency from western Ukraine lead precisely to this: State collapse and disintegration of the country

At the moment Ukraniane state - paralized and at the brink of bankrupcy

Looks like you like the idea, but I have to dissapoint you ;) - The Parliament passed a Law yesterday to stop the shooting and there is no civil war in Ukraine. It is civil protest against (legal) President who (illegally) usurped the power.

ROTFL ! Are you really so naive ?! Those, who attacked and killed members of Berkut Riot Police, who set buildings on fire, who grabbed weaponry from military bases did not care about your "Verkhovna Rada" at all. They wanna spit both at your Parlament as well as to Laws. They are organized and controlled by western instructors.Their wild and rather brutal actions clearly show that they deliberately push Ukraine into Hell of Civil War and Anarkhia.

I would kindly recommend you to split your own country. ;)

I guess, his country is stable and calm.

Anyway, what are you going to do when Ukraine will be split? Sure, Russia will protect Autonomous Republic of Crimea and East of Ukraine. All you can get are economical collapse, lack of jobs, starvation and so-called "European Values". Do you like an idea to become a proud european gay?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Same old game by US and EU. Hypocrisy. Securing their own interests regardless of human loss of life or suffering. Lies and deception with a dash of ignorance and ruthlessness.

technosphere, do you really know the country Olegek is from? ;)

I've spent a week in Kyiv walking around and talking both to protesters and Berkut riot police. I've seen EuroMaidan with my own eyes.

PS. Never thought there so many Russians here on this forum :)

2 technosphere, do you really know the country Olegek is from?

I'm from Russia (Yekaterinburg)

3 I've spent a week in Kyiv walking around and talking both to protesters and Berkut riot police

Yeh - it's soo easy talking to Berkut riot police....especially during riot ....

I've seen EuroMaidan with my own eyes.

You still have two of them ? Lucky guy

PS. Never thought there so many Russians here on this forum :)

Yeh - unfortunately we have not Maidan

And Moscow not burning in flame....

So what we can do?

Hell, frankly I have no clue. But I suppose that his country is calm and stable ;-)

I've seen EuroMaidan with my own eyes.

Oh! Really ? I cannot believe ! You are quickly becoming a semi-God in my humble eyes! But wait...you wanna say that all news let alone video footage about arsonists in Ukranian cities and towns and attacks on Berkut units were nothing short of a cheap lie and make-up ?

Revolution is obviously well underway - welcome to the free world Ukrainians!

Why are repeating this idea living so far from Ukraine, the country you know so badly? Do you like it (the idea)? By why?

I've seen EuroMaidan with my own eyes.

You still have two of them ? Lucky guy

I do. I am.

I've seen EuroMaidan with my own eyes.

Oh! Really ? I cannot believe ! You are quickly becoming a semi-God in my humble eyes!

Relax, I am a real person, nothing divine. :) I was lucky to visit Kyiv just between shootings, the time Berkut was more or less eager to talk. I would attach some pictures, but it is not possible here. You are right, a lot of things have happened in Ukranian cities and towns, but they are not so scary as they show them on (Kremlin) TV. You know, TV-people like to make dramatic picture :) Though it is REVOLUTION.

BTW, you can watch EuroMaidan 24 hours a day here: http://www.radiosvoboda.org - ukrstream.tv or espresso.tv

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

@Deja vu again : you may praise and congratulate them by arriving to Kiev-city and walking to so-called EuroMaidan. Just don't be surprised if they decide to respond by throwing a piece of brick or Molotov's cocktail in your head.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

I don't believe the protests are really about choosing between Russian and the European union. At least the EU is so boring organization that no one would willingly die for it. They are just rioting against their deceptive government and the real answer would be just new election. That is what the real democracy do. Everything else is just eastern or western propaganda.
