Place your bets. I bet on Japan joining the AUKUS.

The little "Justice League" in panic and fear because of the Great Red Dragon from the East !!..

This has obviously been in the works for some time and rushed out in a peeved reaction to the announcement of AUKUS. I wonder if they consulted with the US beforehand?

It has long been obvious that the EU elite have delusions of grandeur.

Monkey see, monkey do. One wonders how much indecision, hand-wringing and dissembling the US encountered among the Europeans before deciding to blow them off and deal with UK and Australia.

France is upset. China’s upset. Why?! Because a problem is getting fixed?

Japan was never interested in joining ANZUS, I dont see it jumping to try joining AUKUS either.

Japan has an iron clad alliance with the US already, (JUS) and has membership in QUAD.

It could ask for inclusion but probably wont in a possible JAUKUS alliance.

This has been in discussion for over a year and it was instigated by Australia who were looking for access to Nuclear subs for it's fleet. The alliance between the US, UK and Australia should not surprise anyone as they have stood shoulder to shoulder in any number of conflicts since WWI.

Other technology will be shared between the three include but not limited to cyber warfare, under water drones and hypersonic missiles.

As others have stated it will be over ten years before they get their first nuclear sub in service and much can happen in that time.

Trump created bigger divisions between America and Europe, except maybe Poland which received an increase in American troops. The European leaders were delighted to see Trump defeated and gone.

If Europe wants to be a player in the Indo-Pacific, then they should be pulling their own weight, instead of letting the US/UK/Australia do the work there for them
