Like trying to pin this on Muslims?

GJ,
"The actions themselves are nuts, but the underlying reasons that they are reacting to are pretty serious and spreading."
Things have ben worse in the 60's and 70's. Any time of economic woes brings out the tensions. I was amused at a French politician showing bewilderment at the hike in crime....
...desperate people do desperate things.
Madverts
I think you're on your own pushing the muslim angle.
SolidariTea
Not so ironically, many of the muslims in Italy and Greece are from Albania.
They are the same "color" as the locals who like to dress up, play "anarchist," and sneak back to their parents' place before sunrise.
GJDailleult
I meant putting third world countries deep into debt and running them into the ground. Not justifying violence or anarchy, just saying that this economic "system" has now spread to the first world in Europe. The kind of stuff in this article is a predictable reaction to that, and it will probably increase and get worse.
That doesn't mean people should support sending letter bombs to embassies obviously, but it does mean we shouldn't just write this all off as the actions of nutcases. The actions themselves are nuts, but the underlying reasons that they are reacting to are pretty serious and spreading.

My fear is a "physician heal thyself" scenario.

Taka313 : "Ironically enough, unlike muslim threads, no one here is calling for racial profiling." Maye no they aren't, but perhaps yes they did. Just look up "Sacco and Vanzetti" on Wikipedia to see that, "the more things change, the more they stay the same", or to put it another way, "history repeats itself, but never the same way twice".
Taka313
Ironically enough, unlike muslim threads, no one here is calling for racial profiling.
Just sayin'.

Why aren't these anarchist ever identified as a "hate group" when they most certainly are? Their violence isn't driven by hatred? Or is it that what they attack is a politically correct target of hate and therefore doesn't qualify?
Madverts
"Must be tough to live there right now. If you're European, which one would you rather get rid off: growing number of anarchists or growing number of islamists?"
I think the real worry isn't the islamists, it what Europeans do when the camel's back finally breaks. We've seen a hint of the skinheads in the UK....right wing hate groups are on the rise in Europe in response, though neither seems a solution.
Madverts
GJ,
"As opposed to right wing loonies? The problem is the loonies, not which wing they are on."
Agreed.
"What is happening in some European countries is exactly what has been going on in the third world for decades."
Do you mean anarchy? Or just people being loonies in general?
jruaustralia
Today's lunatic left, tomorrow's far-right problem. '11 will be a taste of things to come... starting in Eurozone.

the outer edges of the Eurozone are just a testing ground to see how far people can be pushed." No argument from me....
GJDailleult
As opposed to right wing loonies? The problem is the loonies, not which wing they are on.
What is happening in some European countries is exactly what has been going on in the third world for decades. And it soon will be going on in every country, if it isn't already. Badsey, who I used to think when reading this site was a loony too, is the only poster here with any idea of what is going on. Don't be so smug folks, the outer edges of the Eurozone are just a testing ground to see how far people can be pushed.
Madverts
Just morons will do. Typical left-wing-loonies.
SuperLib
Triple oxymoron?
skipthesong
who want to bring down state and financial institutions" The state and the financials are doing that fine by themselves.... What's their goal after that happens?
Probably just a bunch of soccer fans who will bring this to the games.
Japlan
Leave them alone and they will fall on their own sword. No need here for social Darwinism.
SolidariTea
Chickens home to roost and all that.
Equality
In that case, I guess that make them hypocrites as well as vandals and wannabee terrorists.
GJDailleult
Actually chuckers, anarchists think the state and government should not be organized, they don't say anarchists shouldn't be.
chuckers
Anarchists becoming more organised. How ironic.
Badsey
Violence makes little if any positive change, but people need to stand-up to the tyranny Govs and financial terrorists. Ghandi was right and that is how India escaped colonialism where as others failed.
=Gov is usually behind the anarchists (IRA etc) in order to force security (tyranny) on a populace.
