Not having the forces in Ukraine itself is pointless.

There is no point in that. The manchildren on the White House are on record as not giving a darn about European security (and by extension the US's security).

Finally do what has to be done!
Provide Ukraine with the utmost to end the Russian aggressors invasion!
All cease fire deals don't work, never did, never will as can be clearly seen!
Don't trust Putain or Donald Dumb - the promises they make will be broken the same second!
Europe awake before it is way too late!!

Trump has abandoned Europe, which has been a long-time ally of the US.

wallace,
it's not the USA I used to know any more! The US I worked for more than 40 years ago, representing the position of the US Forces in Germany at one of the 3 MTAs as PAO. I was proud and honored having been a part of that as a civilian - looking at all the achievements, the security, the highly qualified members, the long cherished NATO alliance - all gone, destroyed during 2 months by a draft-dodging, inciting, dividing, instigating, cheating wanna-be-dic(K)traitor now residing in the WH and his so-called administration!

For once I agree with every comment posted so far.

The U.S. should back a strong Ukraine army too, but it doesn’t. Not as long as the love of Trump’s life is Putin.

US still backs the Ukr army very well. US t supply the Ukrainian army with intelligence. It allows Ukrainians to fire not only at military targets in Ukraine, but also at peaceful towns and villages. In recent days, Ukrainians killed Russian journalists with American shells. 4 media people were killed. They were a target for American missiles. So, calm down, Americans are great at sitting on two chairs. Aid is regularly arriving at Polish and Romanian airfields. But it doesn't help much...Ukrainians continue to retreat. God is with Russians!

Be interesting to see if their positions change when the population of western Ukraine (the only ones who were allowed to have their votes counted in the 'election' Zelensky 'won') actually get a chance to express how they feel about a guy who campaigned on a platform of reconciliation with eastern Ukrainians by complying with the UNSC resolution granting them effective sovereignty from Kiev, and then governed as if he had a mandate to wage a war of conquest on them instead.
Wonder if the 'European leaders' will simply allow for the results of an election where they express their displeasure to be void due to 'Russian interference' like they did in a different eastern European country.

UK media on Starmer and his European force proposal.
London, March 24, According to a high ranking military source, no one in the UK army knows what peacekeeping mission in Ukraine Keith Starmer is talking about. "There are about 700,000 Russians in and around Ukraine and over a million Ukrainians under arms. What is a 10,000-international force based in the west of the country over 400 kilometers from the front line meant to do? It cannot even protect itself. What is the mission? What is its legitimacy? What are the rules of engagement? How is it commanded, supplied and housed? How long is it there for and why? No one knows," he added.
"It’s all political theatre. Starmer got ahead of himself with talk of boots on the ground before he knew what he was talking about, which is why we hear less about it now and more about jets and vessels which are easier to do and don’t need basing in Ukraine," the high-ranking army source told the newspaper.

The UE/UK tiresome carousel simply rotates again and again, ad nauseam - but many are growing weary of the antics.
Another photo op. Another statement. Another smoke pumping cope-fest.
Pomp and pose and posture from sidelined irrelevant comedians.

EU imports of Russian fossil fuels in third year of invasion surpass financial aid sent to Ukraine
https://energyandcleanair.org/publication/eu-imports-of-russian-fossil-fuels-in-third-year-of-invasion-surpass-financial-aid-sent-to-ukraine/
Despite a range of sanctions and the threat posed by dependence on Russian energy, in the third year of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, EU imports of Russian fossil fuels in particular remain largely unchanged, totalling EUR 21.9 bn, a 6% year-on-year drop in value but merely a 1% year-on-year drop in volumes.
Notably, EU imports of Russian fossil fuels in the third year of the invasion surpassed the EUR 18.7 bn of financial aid they sent to Ukraine in 2024.
The sheer cynical political hypocrisy, Europe's energy dependency, is continuing to fund Putin war!
The blatant betrayal of Ukraine, its people is frankly breathtaking.
The photo, this group of EU ministers so called leaders have the gall to insist they hold Ukraine future close to heart.
Call out President Trump, then handing quote EUR 21.9 bn, a 6% year-on-year drop in value but merely a 1% year-on-year drop in volumes to fund Putin's war machine.
No wonder Trump's administration despises these sanctimonious charlatans.

What is the real way out here you think? There is usually such a law in nature: if you don't win, then you lose. And don't forget that somewhere out there there is a Belgrade submarine with a Poseidon kit. Calm down your Starmer

In the absence of captions, no one can actually name most of the individuals in the main photo. How apt the shadows cast upon them.
Meloni has that "I want to get out of here" look. The person to her right has the "I'm going to lose Greenland" six-inch-frown. At least Tusk's leg is looking better after his skiing mishap.
What on earth is a "reassurance force"?
The Russian armed forces will attack and destroy any NATO-linked bloc entering the Steppes. Watch.

Europeans leaders want a strong Ukraine army, not Europeans.

Primusinter, I can be accused of the same hypocrisy, as these political scoundrels
I "fetched and carried" for Gordon Brown premiership as a junior economics researcher, first drafter/reviser, they paid well, with a student loan, I needed the money.
One lesson I learnt quickly, someone has to lose, decisively.
I think the "law in nature" you could be referring to
NZ
what europeans?
or did you mean some european politicians?
let me honest-most of europeans want end this conflict asap and stop pouring their taxes for Kiev as their money are needed at home.
I am sure that EU had long years to do something about this conflict and push both sides to negotiation table-they did nothing.all they did just poured money of european taxpayers to lost cause, sent guns and a lot of media support.
EU as peace project/as it was from very start/have largely failed.
lets have a glass of clear water.EU have zere influence/or nearly zero/in this conflict.Russians are discussing with americans/and ukraininans/ instead
