America”s Mayor: The Rise and Fall of Rudy Giuliani

26 ( +27 / -1 )

Maybe he can start a GoFundMe.

20 ( +22 / -2 )

Good. I hope he dies broke and penniless.

An absolutely disgusting man.

24 ( +29 / -5 )

Maybe he can start a GoFundMe.

Or Cameo. Or Onlyfans. lol

15 ( +18 / -3 )

Justice served.

19 ( +23 / -4 )

another MAGA bites the dust over election lies.

good riddance

21 ( +25 / -4 )

The eight-person federal jury awarded Ruby Freeman and her daughter Wandrea "Shaye" Moss more than $16 million each for defamation, $20 million each for emotional distress and $75 million in punitive damages.

Thia is how truth to power should work judicially, assign onerous fines to the abusers of power in high places, whatever Giuliani 's 911 grandstanding luck.

Other judiciaries should see this is how to correct abuses of power.

14 ( +16 / -2 )

Message to Trump people: You are not a true Trump person if you don't help Ruby out financially. No helping Ruby = Non Trump person!

16 ( +17 / -1 )

I have no sympathy because he made those poll workers lives hell. And he is still lying about it. He has no evidence because it isn't true. The guy has no shame.

20 ( +22 / -2 )

Well lets not wish death on him too fast. He is one of the only people left who knows the real truth behind 911.

He also dismantled the Bonanno, Colombo, Gambino, Genovese, and Lucchese. Crime families.

We can not forget that. If you ever had to live in NY when these Mafioso ran NY. There was an element of fear.

But if these families were in power today in NY, Maybe better off and no need to see addicts OD-ing EVERYWHERE or on Tranq and spent Narcan bottles everywhere. Because, that what you have now.

But Rudy right, He was working on the behest of his boss. Clearly a scape goat. He is worth 50 million. There is no way he can pay this out. And all his money is offshore. The mans ruined and disbarred. At best the speech circuit if anyone who would even go to listen to him. The aftermath of Trump. Who by the way is slaying Biden at the polls as of today on every poll too. That is scary. I do not want to see Trump back in power. I am Republican. But Chris Christie should have the nomination. He killed in in the last debate. Rudy may end like Epstein if he starts flipping...But no way he can pay that. No way.

-10 ( +6 / -16 )

Giuliani is pretty much a nutcase now.

Unfortunately, US civil awards are usually reduced on appeal and toothless when it comes to collections. The plaintiff is left to try to collect on their own. Good luck with Giuliani.

They'll be lucky to get $100 out of him. The usual practice is try to negotiate a settlement after the plaintiff discovers the hurdles in collection.

Look at Alex Jones. Hasn’t paid a penny and probably won’t.

19 ( +19 / -0 )

“Just pay and move on” lol.

13 ( +14 / -1 )

“Just pay and move on” lol.

"That's the beauty of being rich and why you will never beat us rich people"

12 ( +12 / -0 )

No sympathy for him.

You can have limited sympathy for the genuinely stupid who believed Trump’s nonsense about election or were told to believe it by scammers, but Giuliani isn’t stupid.

Deserves what he gets.

19 ( +19 / -0 )

*election fraud

9 ( +9 / -0 )

bass4funk

But he still deserves what he gets.

Why?

Because his lies made those poll workers lives hell.

17 ( +17 / -0 )

Baseless allegations = huge fines, as it should be.

Just a few left to be punish. Hit it where it hurts them the most, in their wallets. Best of all, Judicial judgements don't get bankruptcy protection, so they will owe this money until death. Everyone will look at them as the L-O-S-E-R-S they are.

12 ( +12 / -0 )

Because his lies made those poll workers lives hell.

According to......?

-25 ( +1 / -26 )

Because his lies made those poll workers lives hell.

According to......?

The poll workers. Have you not seen the Jan 6 hearings and testimony. It is very sad what these women had to endure.

20 ( +20 / -0 )

bass4funkToday  12:38 pm JST

Because his lies made those poll workers lives hell.

According to......?

The evidence presented and findings of the court.

I never thought I would see someone defend Rudy Giuliani in this case. Even his own lawyer didn’t. The first statement in the defense presentation was that they had no defense.

Looney Tunes.

18 ( +18 / -0 )

The poll workers.

Why do I have to take their word for it? Because they’re a minority? Or because they’re women?

Have you not seen the Jan 6 hearings and testimony.

No.

It is very sad what these women had to endure.

I see.

-27 ( +0 / -27 )

I never thought I would see someone defend Rudy Giuliani in this case.

I saw the same about Hunter but….

Even his own lawyer didn’t.

Hmmm

The first statement in the defense presentation was that they had no defense.

Looney Tunes.

Each to his own

-24 ( +0 / -24 )

The first statement in the defense presentation was that they had no defense.

Looney Tunes.

Each to his own.

Which means no real answer?

9 ( +9 / -0 )

I saw the same about Hunter but….

Who cares about Hunter? Hunter is not running for president and it a nobody.

Why do I have to take their word for it?

Because the courts said so.

According to......?

The courts

13 ( +13 / -0 )

What did you see exactly?

Typo! I meant “said”

Which means no real answer?

I do, but it is as I said, to each his own, you want to believe the charges against him to be valid, that’s your choice, there are many of us that don’t feel that the charges were warranted. Anyway, thank God, for the appealed process.

-20 ( +0 / -20 )

Anyway, thank God, for the appealed process.

What’s an “appealed process” in the present tense, exactly?

10 ( +10 / -0 )

Giuliani Is unlikely to pay any fines because he has hidden his money overseas somewhere, maybe SA, or in some off shore islands. He should been hit with a long prison term so he cannot get to enjoy any of it.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

you want to believe the charges against him to be valid

We don't have to believe anything. That is why we have courts.

there are many of us that don’t feel that the charges were warranted

Because Trump people worship Trump. Courts don't - they feel nothing and go with the evidence and facts. That is the important difference between Trump people and the courts.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

In order to appeal a civil judgment, a bond posted in the amount of the judgment is required. Since Ruddy doesn’t have 2 nickels to rub together, much less 148 million, he’s not appealing.

He’s just going to try to slink away until Willis puts him in prison.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

From the same guy who believes the 2020 election was a fraud.

A lot of people do, a lot and that number continues to grow

Giuliani Is unlikely to pay any fines because he has hidden his money overseas somewhere, maybe SA, or in some off shore islands.

Yup.

He should been hit with a long prison term so he cannot get to enjoy any of it.

The left is not going to do that, because if Trump gets back into office, none of them want to meet the same fate, because the tables can be turned on them, and that’s what scares them the most, so they’re not going to go that route, these people are not entirely hopeless mentally.

-21 ( +0 / -21 )

"Today is not the end of the road," she said. "We still have work to do. Rudy Giuliani was not the only one who spread lies about us and others must be held accountable too."

...

Freeman and Moss, who are Black

And THERE'S the part where it's shown that this has nothing to do with "truth" or "justice". This is about silencing the political opposition.

In 2020, in a bid to embarrass Biden ahead of the election, Giuliani and Trump allies circulated data from a laptop that Hunter Biden had abandoned at a computer repair shop in Delaware.

And I thought that laptop was "Russian disinformation": https://archive.ph/xciB5

-12 ( +1 / -13 )

The left

(smirk)

is not going to do that, because if Trump gets back into office, none of them want to meet the same fate, because the tables can be turned on them...

Even if they haven't actually done anything illegal, right?

12 ( +13 / -1 )

A lot of people deserve to be in prison, Giuliani is not one of them by far.

I can't believe a Trump person is implying Ruby is bad. That's not Trump. A Trump person should say that Ruby is 100% good.

Giuliani is not one of them by far.

Courts!

7 ( +7 / -0 )

if Trump gets back into office

Up to the voters

6 ( +6 / -0 )

The poll workers.

Why do I have to take their word for it? Because they’re a minority? Or because they’re women?

No. I believe them because they were under oath.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

I do, but it is as I said, to each his own, you want to believe the charges against him to be valid, that’s your choice, there are many of us that don’t feel that the charges were warranted

’to each his own’ does not mean you get to speak for everybody again. I thought you were past that.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

the thought they buried Alex Jones and like a Phoenix and the flames he rose back up

Absolute delusion. Jones getting reinstated on Twitter is your version of a Phoenix from the ashes. He is still liable to pay over a billion dollars.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

He defamed these women and now they can garnish every cent he makes until he dies.

Well, that’s not for certain

Yes, it is. It’s legal fact and he admitted to it in a filing.

Prison will keep him from being homeless under a bridge.

He’s not going to go to prison

He’s absolutely going to prison because he’s guilty AF, and he is so incredible that nobody is going to cut him a deal.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Absolute delusion.

Why?

Jones getting reinstated on Twitter is your version of a Phoenix from the ashes.

Yup. We all have the right to free speech.

He is still liable to pay over a billion dollars.

Yeah, but he’s not silenced anymore and that’s a great thing.

’to each his own’ does not mean you get to speak for everybody again.

Nor you, take your own advice.

I thought you were past that

Ditto

-16 ( +0 / -16 )

The numbers have reduced since following Jan 6 and only the hard-core MAGA supporters think so

Ahh, no, despite what CNN is trying to get you to believe, it’s growing faster than a zit on a chin.

-15 ( +1 / -16 )

Why are you guys engaging in an argument that adds nothing to discussion and entirely boils down to just name calling? If you have something to say, with the proof to back it up, then post the evidence as it will carry far more weight than just a pointless claims.

-13 ( +0 / -13 )

Rudy contributed to the general belief that Trump won't legitimately be president if he gets back in because it is all rigged. Only by being guilty of spreading such lies could we ever start to believe that the liar-in-chief was legitimate. How paradoxical the looking-glass world of MAGA is.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Actions have consequnce

8 ( +8 / -0 )

And THERE'S the part where it's shown that this has nothing to do with "truth" or "justice". This is about silencing the political opposition

Very strange post.

Do you believe there was mass election fraud in Georgia?

Best to establish the basics first. If you do, just say so.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Clearly a nonsensical sum of money. It'll get knocked down on appeal.

-15 ( +0 / -15 )

JJE

Clearly a nonsensical sum of money. It'll get knocked down on appeal.

I would very much doubt it. Rudy did himself no favors and because of that he has to take the hit.

In the U.S. it’s really nothing to smirk about.

I suppose not if you have a very simple world view and you genuinely believe whole swathes of the population are mad, stupid, evil or all of the above.

"Even if they haven't actually done anything illegal, right?"

I say the same thing now, but that’s not stopping the left either.

You also said the tables can be turned and that's what scares the... um, "left" the most. Why should anyone be scared of Trump's retribution through the courts if they definitely aren't guilty of anything? Is it because he'll go after them anyway?

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Do you believe there was mass election fraud in Georgia?

I believe that there IS something wrong with an election system. That's all I can really say on the matter because people never even attempt to answer a few questions I keep asking without resorting to name calling or labeling such questions as "conspiracy" theories?

-13 ( +1 / -14 )

Giuliani Is unlikely to pay any fines because he has hidden his money overseas somewhere, maybe SA, or in some off shore islands.

Yup.

He should been hit with a long prison term so he cannot get to enjoy any of it.

The left is not going to do that, because if Trump gets back into office,

Yay for bureaucratic and financial elites being able to sequester money to be above any penalties for their malfeasance.

Trump is 100 percent behind this and shows the utter moral bankruptcy of MAGA. It is just a slavish cult based on cultural grievances and loves to bow and scrape to power.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

You do get the sense that some aren’t being completely honest about their belief in mass election fraud in Georgia.

A bit coy and guarded.

You can’t blame them given how open to ridicule they’d become, but it’s hard to take seriously their whining about politically motivated hit jobs.

Not doing themselves any favours.

Just be honest about what you believe.

This sounds like the script of a movie or a TV miniseries.

Maybe he can start a GoFundMe.

Only trump-lovers would be dumb enough to contribute.

Good. I hope he dies broke and penniless.

An absolutely disgusting man.

Sold his soul, sold his reputation. Rotten to the core.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

Put more simply, the big lie about a rigged election has to be a lie for Trump to be legitimate. Wonder how Trump will handle that. It could an emperor has no clothes moment. Or Trump's own denial of his own lies will triumph. Thanks Rudy for your contribution.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Put more simply, the big lie about a rigged election has to be a lie for Trump to be legitimate.

Then, did the Democratic Party lie in 2016 about Trump rigging the election: https://archive.ph/yPNRc

And the scientists backing them: https://archive.ph/XbI5t

What about Al Gore in 2000: https://infogalactic.com/info/Bush_v._Gore

If the election system is really THIS broken, why has no one even attempted to fix it?

-12 ( +1 / -13 )

Do you believe there was mass election fraud in Georgia?

I believe that there IS something wrong with an election system

I see.

Do you believe there was mass election fraud in Georgia?

10 ( +10 / -0 )

Now you believe in polls?

9 ( +11 / -2 )

Do you believe there was mass election fraud in Georgia?

I honestly don't know because no one has proven anything. All we see is that the charges keep getting dismissed because they don't "personally" effect the plantifs: https://archive.ph/Aww74

Or because they're labelled as a "conspiracy theory": https://archive.ph/WYq2T

But anyone who does publically question the results gets slammed with a massive lawsuit: https://archive.ph/cCmdi

What are people suppose to believe with that set of circumstances?
