Cohen had been a registered Democrat for years until changing his registration in March 2017.

So he was a Democrat all the time, nothing has changed - his real reason for changing to the Republican Party was to "white ant" the government.

Cohen pleaded guilty in August to eight federal charges, including tax evasion, bank fraud and campaign finance violations.

Yep he's a Democrat alright, anything goes as long as they get power.

He is still going to vote straight ticket Republican once he is alone in the booth.

small price to pay for the secrets hell reveal to Mueller for guaranteeing his freedom and families financial future. no creditable info = straight to prison, if a Republican vote helps to dull the pain then so be it.

More non-responses that take up half a page from our conservatives.

When you can't respond to an opinion

I did.

Trump was a Democrat supporter before he switched.

Trump was most of his life a liberal Democrat, betcha now he regrets it, just like Reagan did. It’s like drinking a bottle of mad dog and waking up with a bad hangover.

Actually, it doesn't matter who he supports/supported - it was all about getting his brand across and use whatever vehicle it takes.

Like most entrepreneurs, nothing new.

Cohen is attempting to salvage his reputation.

I definitely agree with that! What a joke.

That iceberg known as the PotUS would cause anyone to switch course.

Only if you’re on crack.

Whether it benefits his rep, who can tell? But in denouncing the criminal in the WH, he's made a start.

Now it would seem Don Cohen joined the Cosa Nostra of the Pelosi, Schumer families. They made him an offer he just couldn’t refuse..

You're a journalist for a respected newspaper. Act accordingly, please.

One who would rather castigate the "left" than criticise the torture and murder (by Trump allies) of a fellow scribe.

Cohen switching sides may well be contentious and even seen as betayal. But observe the threats against those who speak out against corruption and death threats, observe the continuing murders against journalists - not a peep.

Maintain silence, buy silence and smear. That's acting accordingly these days.

That’s the lefts excuse? Rope a dope....

Is the Left the imaginary liberal in someone's head they keep arguing with?

2 ( +4 / -2 )

When you can't respond to an opinion without simply categorizing your interlocutor as "the left", you've got some serious problems. You're a journalist for a respected newspaper. Act accordingly, please.

You are talking to someone that believes the definition of words is subjective.

Cohen was a Democrat mole this entire time. Smh....

I'm not "the left." Funny how conservatives with no substantive answers always deflect by referencing the left.

Wouldn’t it be funny if Cohen said that Trump was a Hillary plant.

That would definitely be hilarious.

May be right - and considering he was Trump's long-time lawyer and "fix-it" man, and Trump has been very cozy in the past with the Clintons;

1997: The introduction of his 1997 bookThe Art of the Comeback includes a picture of Trump and Clinton with the caption: "The first lady is a wonderful woman who has handled pressure incredibly well."

2005: Trump made a point to invite Hillary and Bill Clinton to his third wedding, to Melania Trump, demanding their presence.

2008: Throughout 2008, Trump consistently praised Clinton, calling her "smart" and "tough," and blogging that she would make a great president or vice president. In an interview with Fox News’s Neil Cavuto, he said, "I support Hillary. I think she’s fantastic,"

2012:  "Hillary Clinton I think is a terrific woman," Trump told Fox News’s Greta Van Susteren. "I am biased because I have known her for years. I live in New York. She lives in New York. I really like her and her husband both a lot. I think she really works hard. And I think, again, she’s given an agenda, it is not all of her, but I think she really works hard and I think she does a good job. I like her."

Seems clear to me - Trump is  Democratic mole too....

Phony "Republican" Trump, whose only real allegiance is to the TPSE ( Trump Party of Self-enrichment), may well follow his former flunky to exit stage left if he gets caught in the headlights of the "impeachment express" after November and even Kavanaugh and his fellow right-wing shills will not be able to save his orange bacon. Nor will Trump get "a deal" from the Dems.

As a returning s party member, hopefully Cohen will denounce all the crazy, deranged, unhinged and violent behavior of the democrats youth wing; something that not one elected democrat has condemned thus far.

This statement has no basis in reality.

Funny, now the left are the ones quibbling about speculation? Lol

Where's your proof? You don't know this, it's complete speculation.

@bass--but how could the goodest president who only has the bestest people on his staff employ a mole? And why would he approve said mole handing out hundreds of thousands of dollars to women that were not having affairs with his boss? Turn up the bass and shake that weary head to this classic reggae tune: "Sad boys sad boys, where you gonna run, where you gonna run when you ain't got Trump?"

Who's next? Melania !

Because it's all fiction - the Right's (and Putin's) fairly tale to whip up the conservative base - "mobs, deranged thugs, violent left-wingers..." - and how conservatives fall so easy for it.  When will they realize they're being led by the nose by Putin and Trump....

all the crazy, deranged, unhinged and violent behavior of the democrats youth wing

Why would anyone denounce something that does not exist? Very zen.

Poor black person, jailed for a joint. Rich Jewish lawyer no jail, but offered a political career. I get it.

"Ex-Trump lawyer Michael Cohen switches to Democratic Party"

So?

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

Aren't convicted felons disallowed from voting? Does that also disallow them from registering for a political party, and if so, won't this all be irrelevant soon?

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Cohen pleaded guilty in August to eight federal charges, including tax evasion, bank fraud and campaign finance violations. In pleading guilty, he said that Trump directed him to arrange payments before the 2016 election to buy the silence of porn actress Stormy Daniels and a former Playboy model who alleged they had affairs with Trump.

And that's just what is public - imagine all the other dirt Cohen has provided to Mueller to get his plea deal..

Regarding his change of party, I'm reminded of the great Johnny Cash song - "I saw the light....I wandered so aimless, life filled with sin....I wouldn't let my Dear Savior in.....Then Jesus came like a stranger in the night.....Praise the Lord I saw the light"

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Why does this matter? It won't change the facts or save his bacon.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Isn't he going to jail? This November will be the last election he votes in, ever.

rats leaving a sinking ship

Only a matter of time before Trump changes his registration back to Democrat as well.

People that don't know the definition of sure have no credibility when they claim to be sure.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Cohen is a good match for the Democrats... neither can get their stories straight, both need new dramas and there's no loyalty to the American people or Constitution!

-14 ( +3 / -17 )

Are you "sure" you thought it was supposed to be news?

Yup.

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

He'll make a fine democrat.

-9 ( +3 / -12 )

Get involved with Trump and you'll eventually be burned. It's amazing people don't see the recurring pattern.

11 ( +13 / -2 )

I thought this was supposed to be news.

Are you "sure" you thought it was supposed to be news? There wasn't even the slightest skepticism or doubt after you read the headline?

Cohen's come a long way in a short time for a guy who used to say about Trump, "I'd take a bullet for the guy."

I hope he writes a book.

Trolls against liberals will have a field day with that one.

They will think that the corruption Cohen learned as a conservative will be the responsibility of liberals.
