King Salman and Trump share a clear fantasy when it comes to Khashoggi's murder: the assumption that if you don't speak about it, this despicable act will just go away.
It won't.

Given there are who knows how many thousand Saudi 'royal' princes, with dozens (maybe hundreds?) of them probably wanting the power and wealth that MbS has, it makes sense some are agitating. It's not unknown for Gulf 'royalty' to reach tragic ends (e.g. car, plane and helicopter crashes) in power grabs, and even just plain old fashioned family squabbles. Same as it ever was with 'royal' families.
I'm sure each of the royals has his personal security service on full alert. The US and other 'global elite', including Trump, must be fretting over which royal to kiss up to.

Murdering bin Salman should be in jail, not on the throne.

No time to research, but maybe they were in house arrest in a 5 star hotel when it was 45Degrees outside? Google the price for one night.
