Funny how when it’s the vaccine they say the people would have died or got sick anyway

But when it’s old age, pneumonia etc etc then it’s Covid19 on the death certificate

Where do these reports come from? There is no evidence linking the AZ vaccine to blood clots.

Funny how some people will believe anything without a shred of evidence and then try to persuade other people that it’s true too.

It's not "funny" because it is statistically demonstrable. A certain number of people die every year just as a certain number get DVT. You can work out what percentage of those getting the vaccine will die or get DVT and then compare to the actual numbers that do.

What is really not funny is those conspiracy theorists like you who without evidence, claim that COVID is not very serious and that the vaccine causes death.

5 ( +9 / -4 )

Yes, we should be very worried about the reports.

But regarding whether astrazenecca vaccine causes blood clots, evidence supports we shouldn't

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Nope, nope and I just don’t and won’t get involved or take the chance at this time with this vaccine.

-4 ( +4 / -8 )

and when ultimately, any death that is confirmed to be caused by a vaccine is a result of COVID too. No COVID pandemic, no vaccine would have been needed.

They won’t like this though.

Yet more fodder for the anti vaccer crowd to cling to. They feed on this nonsense. Has anyone else notice the connection between the "freedom from vaccine crew" and religion? Its just that ALL the ones I know are very deeply into God.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Not at all. Any vaccine approved by your country's health department for use in your citizens is safe enough.

I'd happily accept the AstraZeneca vaccine, if/once it is approved by the US FDA. It is currently in phase 3 trials.

If you have a history of proven medical complications due to other vaccines, I'd definitely talk with a medical professional in advance. Only 1 vaccine I've gotten in my life did I have any slight issue - soreness at the injection location. All the other vaccines - and there have been many - didn't cause any noticeable symptoms to me. In 2007, I had nearly every vaccine available re-done, including those from childhood.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Agreed. The vaccines were all rushed and not thoroughly tested,

But at the same time, the Dems would have whined and complained Trump didn’t do anything, you guys are never, ever satisfied, but Biden wants to take credit? Lol, funny.

all thanks to Trump’s Operation Warp Speed.

Yes, no one else got it done and the left said, it’s an impossible task. Trump proved the left wrong....again.

Considering that high blood pressure, cholesterol, etc.. as a grouping known as heart disease is the number one cause of death in western countries and considering the obesity and over weight are at record levels in most of these places.

I would be surprised if they didn't find more than the tiny amount of cases.

Most of these cases were probably already present or going to happen anyway but the fact there is a high scrutiny and medical follow up that these people otherwise wouldn't have had this hype gets news.

And the mass media fuels the anti vaxxers big pharma conspiracy fans.

Let's put this into a simple contexts in the EU just blood clotting disorders affect around 100 per 100,000 people. We have here 30 cases out of 5,000,000 people and some are trying to link it to the AZ vaccine. Well if it was then that says it is a good thing because normally 5,000,000 would have 5,000 cases of blood clotting.

Why is the media even wasting time on this.

That just shows a lack of rational risk assessment. The potential dangers of the vaccine (which are minimal considering how many millions of people have had it without an adverse side-effects) are miniscule compared to the dangers of Covid-19.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Don’t like it when your tactics are used against you, do you?

Huh? ROFL!

Forcing vaccines to be rushed and therefore unreliable by your own words is proving the left wrong insofar as rushed vaccines are unreliable?

Well, they pushed and begged the President to do something, Biden should be thankful. He mildly and begrudgingly did so.

Wow. You have impressive mental gymnastics skills.

No, but nice try.

Ok, that’s your opinion and you’re entitled to it.

Doing a little poking around and I realise how deceiving the reporting of blood disorders is.

5,000,000 people 30 cases is not factual.

In fact the title should have been 30 previously unknown cases.

The reason for the "previously" is because out of 5,000,000 people in Europe the normal number of people that have blood disorders is around 5,000 ( EU average is 100 per 100,000 ) so what we are probably seeing is 30 people that hadn't been to a doctor in recent times and had never been checked and now under the high profile high scrutiny now found out they have a problem they previously didn't realise they had.

Hype and fuel for anti vaxxers.

Ok, that’s your opinion and you’re entitled to it.

They're facts.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Apparently the figures are roughly on a par with the Pfizer vaccine; if anything Pfizer's blood clot incidence is very slightly higher. The question really is, why is AZ being singled out?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

They're facts.

Depending on which researcher or research you believe based on their facts

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

Facts don’t depend on the source.

They do, depending on which facts you believe to be facts.

This sentence is a beautiful distillation of the negatives the internet is capable of creating.

Clearly, more people will die from the virus than the vaccine. Unfortunately, medical procedures are not all 100% safe or without side effects.

I believe you, but for now I will wait.

This sentence is a beautiful distillation of the negatives the internet is capable of creating.

Say the people that believe Russia stories...

An admission that none of your posts can be taken as being factual does nothing for your argument

No, worries. I feel the same about most of y’all.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

But my belief is I don’t want to take it or risk it and I don’t believe the facts that you or the left try to push me or others want me to believe, I believe in the facts that I think makes sense to me.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

But my belief is I don’t want to take it or risk it and I don’t believe the facts that you or the left try to push me or others want me to believe, I believe in the facts that I think makes sense to me.

So you believe in opinions. Not facts.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

I believe in the facts that I think makes sense to me.

You’ve obviously never studied science, which is key in this issue. Many scientific proofs do not conform to what we think ‘makes sense’.

That’s why we need scientists.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

So you believe in opinions. Not facts.

No, facts, just not the ones liberals try to ram down my throat.

You’ve obviously never studied science,

I know enough that science isn’t always correct, ongoing, subject to change, various differences of opinions, trial and error and death and destruction in the name of science. I’m good.

Put another way: You act on your feelings instead of facts.

Both which kept me fine, fit and healthy for a very long time. Kudos!

The jib jab, Covid passports and coming Digital ID systems are no longer in the realm of conspiracy theory. They are already in the mainstream narrative

And I speak from personally experience about the incorrect reason on the death certificate as it happened to my late aunt

Sell it to Dangermouse, I’m not buying.

Anyway, what does that have to do with the price of tea in China?

How about searching the ‘mainstream narrative’ optic whatever you want to call it and showing me some evidence of a link between blood clots and the AstraZeneca vaccine. You know, the headline.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Experts already say, you can die from both choices. So it should be your choice.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Please which experts say we can die from the vaccine?

Not one case of anyone dying from the vaccine has been reported or confirmed anywhere.

There have been some minor allergic reactions but zero deaths.

The jib jab, Covid passports and coming Digital ID systems are no longer in the realm of conspiracy theory.

First most passports today have IC chips and I don't believe the stories that people claim to have removed or disabled the chips because any passport that has a damaged Chip will trigger a review and the person may be rejected from entering the country.

As for Vaccine passports they are nothing new and were previously required until the late 20th century I actually still have my old yellow card.

So all the big brother stuff is hilarious seeing Vaccine certificates existed long before covid and digital ID passports have been in used for over a decade.

They do, depending on which facts you believe to be facts.

This sentence is a beautiful distillation of the negatives the internet is capable of creating.

Haha!

Facts are objective truths, independent of what people believe to be true. The hard bit is finding them among all the BS that pervades the world on and off the internet.

The AZ vaccine may very well cause blood clots, I don't know one way or the other. But more objective study should be done as the vaccine rolls out, and if it can be reasonably demonstrated that there's a causative link between it and blood clots, then suspend its use until it can be proved safe and modified or the like. If not, then people can continue to receive if that's what they want to do, based on their doctor's advice.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Data from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) regulator in the UK suggest that more people have reported blood clots after a Pfizer vaccine than the Oxford one — even though Pfizer's jab has not been suspended anywhere.

Up to February 28 there were 38 reports from approximately 11.5million doses of Pfizer's jab, compared to 30 from 9.7m AstraZeneca doses. However, neither figure – the equivalent of one blood clot for every 367,000 vaccines – is thought to be higher than the risk expected in the general population.

Chief of Italy's medicines regulator, Nicola Magrini, today said the sweeping bans across Europe were part of a politically driven snowball effect which had seen countries come under pressure within the EU to follow suit, particularly now that powerhouses France and Germany had made the move.

The European Medicines Agency held an emergency meeting today in which it admitted there was 'no indication' that the vaccine had actually caused any blood clots but said it was investigating the cases.........

3 ( +3 / -0 )

My understanding is that it's not the number of cases of blood clots that is of concern but the unusual nature of some of the clots. I can't say whether that warrants pausing the roll out of the AZ vaccine, but it seems the health authorities in some countries think that's the right approach.

(PS: My wife got the AZ vaccine a couple of days ago. I got the Pfizer one a few weeks ago. Were comparing symptoms. So far, neither of us have developed gills or webbed feet.)

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Again at 100 cases per 100,000 being the normal average in Europe for such problems without any Vaccine. 30 out of 5 million is looking for a problem that really isn't there.

With obesity at the rates they are in Europe (and North America) and coronary disease ( this includes blood clots, blocked arteries, etc..) being the number one cause of death, does anyone actually think that 30 cases out of 5 million seem like a vaccine related problem.

Let's be realistic.

If the shots had been 5 million of saline I would expect to see just as many if not more.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

In the UK 15 million doses given without a single case of blood clots.

This is where it gets confusing. I'd read similar reports in various news stories, but the BBC has this in one article:

In the UK, five cases of cerebral sinus vein thrombosis (CSVT), among 11 million people who have received the vaccine, occurred in men aged between 19 and 59. One of these was fatal.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-56447367

Overall numbers suggest the vaccine is generally safe. But if the blood clot cases are unusual, I can understand the idea of pausing to check if those who had the problem had any common and easily identifiable characteristics. If so, it might be possible to identify such people and suggest they don't get the vaccine.
