Zelensky has set a new precedent whereby a country that captures a POW can charge and convict them with a war crime.
Well, 2 can play that game.
Of course, originally POWs were only supposed to be charged by international tribunals like the ICC.
You reap what you sow.

Stay tuned for more Russian war crimes and atrocities to be committed against POW's.

Russia will probably exchange them against some of their POWs.
I see there are trolls for Russia.
Comparing even having a silly tatoo, and shooting unarmed civilians, can't you see the difference between an idea and action ? Is defending your country shameful ?
Haaa Nemui
And one former high ranking Russian military official went on Russian TV a few days ago to say Russia will do exactly that.

False. If you invade my home and shoot my father without provocation, you are subject to criminal trial.
plasticmonkey
Is that a threat?
Have Russians been subjected to war crimes within their own country?

Oh 2500 now?
wasnt it a “few” hundred?

Everyone is lying except Putin and his faithful followers. Believe no one else. They are all far-left liberals and Nazis.

Nice deflect.
So how did a “few” hundred become 900 when there was fighting but 2500 who were captured?

The Ukrainian side isn't any better, I would say they are worse.

Why exactly?
As per Western and Ukrainian new euphemism, they've been "evacuated".
Surrender! What' that?
Accordingly, they've all been evacuated to a Siberian Gulag.
No need to worry then.

That is true in a non war situation.
Once war is declared, combat soldiers that surrender and are captured are treated as POWs and are not subject to civil prosecution as per the Geneva Convention.
If war crimes were committed, a trial is to be held by an independent tribunal like the ICC, not the detaining power.
This is why the ICC exists.
If Zelensky wants Russian soldiers tried for war crimes, send them to the ICC in the Hague, that's the Geneva Convention rule.

You ought to keep abreast with the news.
That's the overall figure; over a thousand surrendered roughly 2 weeks ago.
Remember?
If not check first, then post.
Simples.

War has not been declared. It’s just a “special military operation”, remember? Keep to the right script.

If it looks like a duck, waddles like a duck, quacks like a duck…..
it certainly isn’t a special down production center.
The state of war has existed since the 24th February, and will end when Mad Vlad by whatever means meets his maker.
The sooner the better.
