Another hypocrite! Weren't two of the 9/11 hijackers reported to frequent topless bars? Radical hypocrites!!!

Well, that would be a mental issue indeed. Being gay and at the same time an ISIS sympathizer, where gays are thrown from rooftops.... I can see how that would drive on over the edge.

As Martin Amis has said, "radical islam" attracts all kinds of psychopaths and disturbed individuals.

Homosexuals are beheaded, hung and stoned in modern Saudi Arabia and Iran, where Muhammad's laws are applied most strictly. Five other Muslim countries also have the death penalty on their books for homosexual behavior. In the past, gays were burned.

This is NOT extremism. I wish it was. It's mainstream modern Islam.

To believe otherwise is wishful thinking.

"She said Mateen talked about wanting the U.S. to “stop bombing my country,” a possible reference to his father’s native Afghanistan."

Any reason to consider a temporary ban on Muslims; they don't assimilate as a rule. They wish to reproduce the same culture and society that they left in the Middle East or Africa. America is open to all wish to assimilate beyond receiving welfare benefits and the using the 2nd Amendment to eradicate those who disagree with them.

samwaters - eminently sensible proposal. but wait for the pile-on from the Left/"progressive" crowd that dominates this site.

The official said investigators have not ruled out charging others, including the wife.

Latest news reports indicate the wife will be arrested tomorrow (Wednesday) morning. Reportedly, she knew of his intentions, accompanied him when he bought the weapons, traveled with him when he scouted the dance hall, etc. Appears there is a federal law that can be used to charge someone who is aware of a plot such as the Orlando shooting, but doesn't report it to authorities.

So, stand by for Obama & the media to declare this a "domestic trouble" issue. No particular belief system involved, nothing to see, here, just move on and wait for the next one.

Accessory before the fact, or co-conspirator to commit murder, right?

When you see Obama, you can tell he has totally detached himself from this, he is one his way out and he's already at mental retirement mode and is ready to turn this over to the next president, why give the effort or urgency? Right now, the most important thing is to make sure Hillary wins and keep the Democrats in power and more importantly, his legacy alive.

Some very inconvenient facts surfacing.

The club hsdd Latin music fanns an they were killed of injured, too. The killer is a member of gay friendship club and he told his sexual preference to his first wife. So,, FBI has to check his Phone record CNBC, CNN, All of fox news channels

Trump,,, said he is the only person shoo loves LGBT, not Hillary. GOP lawmakers had red face and rushed away from podium.

Call me a crazy progressive, but how on earth is it sensible to suggest banning muslims as a solution to a crime committed by a natural born U.S. citizen?

0 ( +3 / -3 )

@justbcuzisay. Because while this person may have been born in the US he (and his family for that matter) never assimilated into US culture. Read his quote; he insinuated Afghanistan was "his country." Now I want to be clear; I an NOT suggesting that all people of the Islamic faith be rounded up and sent into camps the way Democrats did to Americans of Asian descent during WWII or deported to an Islamic country of their choice but I am suggesting that since Muslims do have trouble assimilating into places that allow freedom from their religion that maybe we should stop adding them until our security measures become more reliable. Not permanently, just for a while.

That's weird, I just watched Obama talking, and he looked downright angry. Not even remotely detached.

Because while this person may have been born in the US he (and his family for that matter) never assimilated into US culture.

Ahh, so he's an American*, not an American. Gotcha.

Justbicuzisay, the children of Muslim immigrants are often the perpetrators of crime in the name of Islam.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

The father is on video saying "god will punish homosexuals." He can also be seen indicating support to the Taliban. Gee, what a lovely family. Naturally, Obama and the regressive left insist Islam had nothing to do with the incident.

So...deport him. In the meantime, the media can give us the backstory on how Mateen was brought up as a child, the values he was taught, etc. Well, I'm waiting.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

No particular belief system involved, nothing to see, here, just move on and wait for the next one.

No, that's what inevitably happens when the perpetrator is Christian (or at least not Islamic). Blacksburg, VA (32 killed - white perpetrator - nothing done); Newtown, CT (27 killed - white perpetrator - nothing done); Killeen, TX (22 killed - white perpetrator - nothing done); Edmond, OK (18 killed - white perpetrator - nothing done); Binghampton, NY (13 killed - white perpetrator - nothing done); Aurora, CO (12 killed - white perpetrator - nothing done).

When the perpetrator is Islamic, people notice - but not enough to ban the guns that would end the carnage, only enough to ban the people which would end the spirit that has created America.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

"Blacksburg, VA (32 killed - white perpetrator - nothing done)"

Get real. The guy was born in Korea and ethnically Korean. Further, he lashed out against Christianity in a note shortly before the shooting and slammed his parents for their Christian faith.

"When the perpetrator is Islamic, people notice...."

Right.....Columbine, completely ignored eh? Well apart from a couple of popular and feature-length movies about it and its victims and perpetrators.

Having a semblance of truth in your posts might give you at least a shred of credibility. But then, the regressive left is trying to put square pegs in round holes in trying to fit this incident into their narrative.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Oh, thanks, Jeff - my mistake. Please replace Blacksburg with Columbine, CO (13 killed - white perpetrators - nothing done).

You might want to ask the friends and family of those killed in the above massacres whether their existence represents "a semblance of truth" or whether these people still struggle with life years after losing their loved ones. But then, upholding a recent and twisted interpretation of the Second Amendment is these days about the only tie left to unite Republicans.

Enjoy the carnage while you can. A decade from now, following another two terms of Democratic rule, District of Columbia v. Heller will have been revisited, and guns will have been placed back into an appropriate context.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

@Laguna- so "white perpetrators" equals Christian? You've divided the massacres into Christian and Muslim. Get real.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Obama can make all the angry faces that he wants and he can talk all day, which he usually does and since November is around the corner (cheers) optics is something that he's trying to convey to people until his long awaited departure.

You know if you grab the snake by the tail and don't secure the head, you're going to get bitten. Dems can never seem to secure the head. Lol When Trump walks into the Oval Office, we can breath a sigh of relief and put all this PC crap behind us and really deal with the problems destroying the country.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Omar Mateen was gay but his father, a Muslim, taught him to hate gays, so he attacked gays and, who knows, might have killed himself if the SWAT team hadn't shot him first.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

justbicuzisay, the children of Muslim immigrants are often the perpetrators of crime in the name of Islam.

I was talking about the proposal to ban muslims being irrelevant, but if you care to give me some statistics proving more children of immigrants commit crimes than white Americans born to non-immigrant parents, I'm listening

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Outrider, read my post again: I specifically noted Christian (or at least not Islamic). My point remains. Turns out the guy had apparently "pledged" support to both Hezbollah and the ISIS, apparently not realizing they are fighting each other (perhaps if he'd had committed suicide, both sides would have won) - that is how clueless he was.

My point remains: This is fundamentally an act of domestic terrorism, a hate crime that should be classified alongside the Colorado Planned Parenthood shooting as an irrational act committed by a crazed individual who should not have had access to weapons but did. That is what should be focused on; anything else is a waste of time and will do nothing to prevent future similar incidents.

Then again, the NRA and their GOP lackeys do not care a whit about preventing future massacres. All that matters to them is optics.

Doesn't really matter if immigrants and their children are committing more or less crimes that American citizens; the point of immigration is to make America better, not solve the problems the of the Third World. Immigrants to the US should be committing ZERO crimes and offering something we don't already have; we are stuck with the people who are born in the US but we certainly don't need to import any other malcontents.

So, my family immigrated to the U.S. over 100 years ago, so you will will tolerate all of the people who share my background? I hope one day you can see how ridiculous your thinking is....

The names of the victims are released. The majority of names are Latinos.

CrazyJoe: "This is NOT extremism. I wish it was. It's mainstream modern Islam. To believe otherwise is wishful thinking."

Really? so what about the Christian pastor praising what happened and saying that Orlando is now "safer" tonight as a result? Is it suddenly just one man's extreme words? Or is that just mainstream, modern Christianity?

All sane people might like to know that American Muslims are more integrated, more secular and more reflective of America economic demographics than American Christians:

The percentage of U.S. Muslims in individual income and education brackets tracks closely to that of the rest of the U.S. population, surveys suggest. According to a 2009 Gallup poll, U.S. Muslims have the second-highest level of education among major religious groups in the United States. Almost 50 percent of Muslims identify with religion before their U.S. identity (nearly half of U.S. Christians polled by Gallup also identified with their religion first)

FBI is investigating his current wife,

His father came out to talk to media. He said what he thinks about gay. Then helraised his Song's lovely current wife. He wanted to protect her, maybe, but sounded like he was talking about his lover.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

had been living a secret life as a gay man

If he were gay, looks like ISIS spoke too soon in praising him as one of their faithful followers. After throwing gays from rooftops, it'll be difficult for ISIS to publicly accept this gay as one of their "martyrs."

.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Anyone who so consumed with hatred of gays are most likely self-loathing gays themselves,

0 ( +1 / -1 )

I state an irrefutable fact....and immediately am voted down to a net balance of 3 "bads." More proof that the regressive left has some serious issues with reality, espeically over the issue of Islamic violence.

@justbcuzisay. What is your point?

Sorry, the post you are referring to I deleted part of it by mistake and hit submit, but I will rephrase

You said:

Doesn't really matter if immigrants and their children are committing more or less crimes that American citizens....we are stuck with the people who are born in the US but we certainly don't need to import any other malcontents.

Can you prove the malcontent is 'brought' from their old culture? The way I see it, the numbers do matter, very much so. Your so-called 'true' Americans are committing mass shooting nearly each and every day.

This crime is very much the same kind of crime committed at Columbine, Sandy Hook, Emanual Methodist Church, etc, etc. How is this not assimilation? Shooting people you don't like or agree with seems to be very much part of the fabric of America.

What we should be doing is addressing the sick culture that makes so many go out and shoot people they don't agree with Getting rid of Muslims would hardly put a dent in this problem. That's why the numbers matter.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

justbecuzisay. Thanks for rewriting your post. Now i understand where you are coming from. OK, let me break down a few things, not to be combative but to be clear.

1.) "Your so-called 'true' Americans are committing mass shooting nearly each and every day." First, anyone who lives in the US by birth or marriage is an American. Being American is not (or should not be) about race or religion. I do not and have never suggested that Muslims are any less American than non-Muslims and I would guess that most Americans would agree. Case-in-point; two of the most beloved athletes in the US are/were Muslims...Kareem Abdul Jabbar (LA Lakers centre) and the great world champion, Muhammed Ali. Also, your claim that mass shootings are occurring every day is a bit of an exaggeration. America has by far way too much gun violence but what happened in Orlando is not happening on a daily or even a weekly basis.

2.) "This crime is very much the same kind of crime committed at Columbine, Sandy Hook, Emanual Methodist Church, etc, etc. How is this not assimilation? Shooting people you don't like or agree with seems to be very much part of the fabric of America." I agree with you. I believe in the case of Columbine the problem was (emotionally) absentee parents. As for the church shooting, all I can say is that I am an atheist and I think people who really believe that virgins are giving birth to children or that the dead are coming back to life have unique outlooks on life.

3.) "What we should be doing is addressing the sick culture that makes so many go out and shoot people they don't agree with. Getting rid of Muslims would hardly put a dent in this problem. That's why the numbers matter." First sentence I agree with you 100%.

Now, as for the second sentence, I did not suggest "getting rid of Muslims." This is one reason why trying to debate certain people on the Left in regards to Islam is impossible. You--and others---are reacting to things I did not say/write. I even pointed out that I did not advocate rounding up Muslims and putting them into camps or deporting them like was done to Asian-Americans during WWII. What I am advocating is a temporary ban on persons who fit a certain profile until our security apparatus is strong enough to deal with radical Muslims. Again, case-in-point; the shooter at Orlando was being monitored by law enforcement including the FBI but it wasn't enough. Certain facts must be faced; Islam has a component that advocates death to non-believers. Yes, I know, the majority of Muslims don't believe this...etc. etc. etc. But that means nothing when people are being beheaded or killed by the dozens. It's not just America that is having this problem; check out Germany, Sweden and other European countries that are dealing with radical Islam.

Finally, a country's immigration policy is designed to improve their society. Rigorous screening should be expected and the "open borders" crowd is simply wrong. Until recently it has only been the US who was pressured to use its immigration policy to solve the problems for the rest of the world. It's simply not reasonable to ask the US to continue doing so. The US has the right---and the responsibility---to screen and even stop immigration if there is a clear and present danger and to continue doing so until that danger has passed or until an appropriate system for dealing with the danger has been created.

Laguna, ISIS and Hezbollah are both Islamic. Thats all that mattered to him.
