Protect the elite? And to think there are 'westerners' working to undermine the remaining bits of their respective state's democratic systems and have them replaced by authoritarian systems where the elite have even greater authority.

destroyed, should all other world's governments close fully all the countries in begining of January 2020 and go to full lockdown, we would save so many lives... ...World Wide Incompetence and stupidity and ignorance... Instead of acting fast, all the countries waited until Coronavirus came and started biting their naive rears...

Someday we will learn the true breadth of the infection in China. But probably not before the virus circles back around and knocks out the Chinese Communist Party and causes an empire collapse.

Without the plebs, the elite have no protection. In a pandemic they need us more than ever. Boris Johnson will vouch for this truism, as maybe one day even his alter ego across the pond.

By definition, there cannot be different classes in a communist system.

I prefer authoritarian with civil liberties. Japan obviously is authoritarian and democratic; you can have your senbei and eat it too.

Half of the US is constantly busy attacking the other half. Abe has it much easier than Trump.

But in China, they tied an elderly man to a utilities pole with cables for being out of his home. Authorities boarded up someone’s front door from the outside to enforce the lockdown.

The Democratic Elite, the GOP, Nihonkai, the CCP...all elites. The Global Elites collaborate with each other to maintain the establishment.

People have been predicting the collapse of the CCP for decades. As much as I’d like to see it happen, I can’t see thIs virus bringing it down. If anything, it will strengthen its grip.

From my time in China and speaking to Chinese outside of China, the CCP will stay in power as long as they deliver on two key points - economic growth and unity.

From my experience having lived in four countries, including China, the so-called democratic governments are yet to deliver any of those two to their countries. So the collapse of China is just a wet dream of the pentagon weapon sellers, and the herd that thinks such a cathastrophe would benefit them.

This pandemic is having a very corrosive effect on a number of ideological institutions. The egalitarian underpinnings of the CCP have definitely been challenged. Now we see the Party, as well as, economic elites utilizing their disproportionate resources to protect themselves by any means with the regular folks bearing the brunt of the hardship. At the same time, individual cities across China are either becoming fortresses of their own or pariahs to be shunned. All kind of conflict is arising, with town against town, country folk against city slickers and so on and so forth. Things are getting pretty tribal.

I guess it boils down to ideology versus human nature. Marxism is not a natural condition for humans, it requires the suppression of naturally occuring tendencies and the continued maintenance of that suppression to insure the masses don't stray. Because if they are left to their own devices, they'll go feral. In this situation it appears that the Chinese have shaken off some of their ideological restraints and are returning to a more natural state.
