5th woman accuses Republican candidate Moore of sexual misconduct

A fifth woman on Monday accused Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore of sexual misconduct, alleging he assaulted her when she was a teenager, as senior party members called on the conservative to withdraw from next month's election in Alabama.

Moore -- a former state supreme court judge and Christian evangelical running neck and neck with a Democrat in the race -- denies any wrongdoing.

But Beverly Young Nelson claimed the now 70-year-old Moore sexually assaulted her when she was a 16-year-old waitress and he was a county district attorney "twice my age" in around January 1978.

Nelson, who is now a 55-year-old businesswoman in Alabama, told reporters in New York that Moore was a regular customer in the restaurant where she worked and was flirtatious, signing her high school yearbook during one shift in late 1977.

A week or two later, Nelson said she was waiting for her boyfriend to drive her home after work, when Moore instead offered to give her a ride.

But instead of turning onto the highway, he drove behind the restaurant to a "dark and deserted" spot.

"Mr Moore reached over and began groping me, putting his hands on my breasts," she said, reading from a prepared statement alongside celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred, who has represented women who accused Bill Cosby and Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault.

"I tried fighting him off, while yelling at him to stop, but instead of stopping, he began squeezing my neck, attempting to force my head onto his crotch," she said.

"I was terrified. He was also trying to pull my shirt off. I thought that he was going to rape me. I was twisting and struggling and begging him to stop. I had tears running down my face," Nelson said.

He alleged that Moore gave up and drove off, leaving her behind "on the cold concrete in the dark."

Nelson said she was motivated to speak out after four other women told The Washington Post that Moore also pursued them in their teens, while he was in his early 30s working as an assistant district attorney.

Moore dismissed those allegations as a "dangerous lie."

Asked whether he remembered dating women in their teens when he was in his 30s, he replied: "Not generally, no."

But on Monday, he faced mounting calls to quit.

Even before Nelson spoke, the Senate's top Republican Mitch McConnell said he believed Moore's accusers and urged the anti-establishment conservative to "step aside" from the December 12 election.

The number two Senate Republican, John Cornyn, withdrew his endorsement of Moore, calling the accusations "disturbing and, if true, disqualifying."

Cory Gardner, the senator in charge of the 2018 Senate election campaign for all Republicans, said if Moore refused to withdraw and were to be elected, "the Senate should vote to expel him."

Moore is locked in a tight race with Democrat Doug Jones in the contest to replace Jeff Sessions, now U.S. attorney general, as Republicans seek to hold on to their slim 52-48 majority in the Senate.

Nelson batted aside any suggestion that she was motivated by politics.

"My husband and I supported Donald Trump for president," she said.

"Mr Moore attacked me when I was a child. I did nothing to deserve this sexual attack. I was frightened by his position and his power," she said.

Allred left open the possibility that other accusers may come forward, refusing to comment when asked if other women had contacted her about Moore.

The explosive Washington Post investigation saw one woman allege that Moore initiated a sexual encounter with her in 1979, when she was 14 years old and he was 32. Three others said Moore pursued them when they were 18 or younger.

White House officials have said that if the accusations are true, Moore should step aside and McConnell has floated the possibility of getting a Republican to come forward as a write-in candidate in the race.

Moore's controversial positions put him on the far right of the Republican Party.

But right (so to speak) there alongside Russia’s far-rightists.

This article tells me all I need to know about Republican Moore: https://lawandcrime.com/high-profile/roy-moore-cast-the-sole-vote-in-favor-of-a-man-who-raped-a-four-year-old/

And then there are these quotes:

“Well, maybe Putin is right,” Moore said. “Maybe he’s more akin to me than I know.”

It’s pretty hard to differentiate US rightists from Russian rightists these days.

In the same interview, Moore said it was God who put Trump in the White House.

“Everybody else thinks it’s the Russians,” he said. “I think it was the providential hand of God.”

https://www.politico.com/story/2017/09/27/roy-moore-outrageous-things-he-said-243207

Moore suggested that a lack of faith in God may have played a role in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. His having said that might upset some in the rightist and intellectually vulnerable communities who claim it was an inside job.

Since she was a teen at the time it’s clear his behavior was inappropriate if her account is true.

But then again, isn’t there a statute of limitations here, how can anyone possibly defend themselves against an accusation from 40 years ago.

Any sentient person knew this was coming. Pedophiles are notorious repeat offenders, and I doubt Ms. Nelson is the last. May this sanctimonious, hypocritical, self-righteous bigot go down in the flames he deserves.

Things I did in my late teens/early 20s alternatively shame or entertain me. Typical high school / college stuff. When your in your 30s and you must ask your date's mother permission, though.... That would have given even me pause.

No doubt deep-south, good-ol' evangelicals will support him nonetheless. "There for but the grace of God go I," after all.

I have my own personal beliefs about the man, but I don't live and work in Alabama and they have to ultimately decide what's in their best interest and as long as these allegations are just nothing but allegations, the people in Alabama just may continue to support the guy.

-18 ( +1 / -19 )

This guy sure seems guilty. Too bad for Moore he isn’t a Democrat. Bill Clinton was accused of raping two women and his party’s minions said it was just sex - then voted for him for president - twice.

-14 ( +2 / -16 )

Moore's supporters in Christ are no doubt familiar with Mark 12:28-29:

28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? 29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Drain the Swamp.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Disgusting. Republicans need to distance themselves from this man.

It must be traumatic having to relive these events and then face scorn from those who have not been sexually assaulted.

No wonder it takes time and courage to come forward.

Bush Sr. is also being accused again.

I think sexual predators can be found in any group regardless of its members religious or political beliefs. I do, however, think that that those in positions of authority, especially those with near unchecked authority, are the ones most likely to be bullies and prey on those who are more vulnerable, those the authority figures sees as prey.

That’s one of the many reasons I worry about authoritarian regimes, which seem to be favored by an increasing number of people theses days. Authoritarians and their true believing followers scare me. Including members of the judiciary:

https://lawnewz.com/high-profile/roy-moore-cast-the-sole-vote-in-favor-of-a-man-who-raped-a-four-year-old/

7 ( +7 / -0 )

The bigger problem with Moore is that he's a gutter bigot that isn't compatible with our form of government.

He said that Muslims shouldn't be allowed in the US government because of their faith. Just ban them all. And he said it in response to a Muslim getting elected.

When the Supreme Court paved the way for gay marriage, he told his people to refuse to grant licenses. Just complete contempt for our Judicial Branch and their duty of checks and balances.

He put the Ten Commandments on government property, an obvious insult to our belief of separating church and state. When ordered to take it down, he refused, so they removed his ass.

The allegations from the women are just more of the same bigotry. The guy isn't fit to be around youngsters and he has no respect for our laws or our Constitution. He obviously would feel more comfortable living in a different country.

I really don't get why Trump and his fans support him.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

Toasted: Disgusting. Republicans need to distance themselves from this man.

I agree. But you are a bit late to the party. Remember Juanita Broderick?

I didn’t think so.

-11 ( +0 / -11 )

You know, it's just really interesting that the these women are coming out now after all this time during an election and with a candidate the establishment Republicans hate. How ironic.

I know this is the talking point for his defenders, but there's nothing "ironic" or unusual about the timing. Dirt about a candidate often comes out during an election. (Republicans are often the smearers so they should know.)

That and the fact that the Harvey Weinstein scandal was a watershed moment. It's finally acceptable for women to expose their attackers whether they be Hollywood liberals, comedians, news executives, Republicans/Democrats, etc.

This guy sure seems guilty. Too bad for Moore he isn’t a Democrat. Bill Clinton was accused of raping two women and his party’s minions said it was just sex - then voted for him for president - twice.

I honestly feel that Clinton wouldn't stand up to today's level scrutiny (rightfully), and should take responsibility for his actions voluntarily if the statute of limitations has passed.

That said, this is now about what Republican voters will do in today's more equal climate. Will they do what's right and not vote for the PEDOPHILE, even if that means a Democrat will win?

14 ( +14 / -0 )

Toasted HereticToday 08:59 am JST Disgusting. Republicans need to distance themselves from this man.

That's what I said last fall about their presidential candidate. Didn't happen. I no longer expect common sense and decency to prevail.

12 ( +12 / -0 )

That said, this is now about what Republican voters will do in today's more equal climate. Will they do what's right and not vote for the PEDOPHILE, even if that means a Democrat will win?

I hope. But it will depend upon the power of tribalism on the part of Republicans. I don’t believe Republicans are as united in protecting their ideology over what we saw when Clinton was president. Even Gloria Steinem was making excuses for Clinton’s behavior.

https://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2017/11/reckoning-with-bill-clintons-sex-crimes/545729/

More than half a dozen Republican senators have found their way to a microphone to state their unwillingness to support Moore - the latest I heard of was Ted Cruz. The rubber hits the road when another important Democrat gets outed. Human nature being what it is - it will happen. Would the Dems circle the wagons again if a future Hispanic Dem president gets accused of a sexual assault? If a major feminist figure like Steinem would provide cover because of shared political goals - I am skeptical.

-10 ( +1 / -11 )

@wolfp if a future Hispanic Dem

Always the race card with reps and cons, always identity politics. LOL

10 ( +11 / -1 )

You said it yourself, this guy is very likely guilty... of being a PEDOPHILE. It should be all Republican senators disowning him.

True. There is the possibility that this is a political hit job given that Moore has stood for elective office before. There is no possibility for him to defend himself given the allegations were made less than a month before the election and after the legal opportunity to change candidates had passed. But that’s just his bad break. America’s tribal politics isn’t bean bag. Don’t be surprised when the same thing starts happening to Dems.

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

There is the possibility that this is a political hit job... Don’t be surprised when the same thing starts happening to Dems.

With the amount of corroborating accounts and circumstantial evidence, the possibility is pretty slim. This is more like a predator finally being exposed, and I think the politics of the person being exposed is irrelevant... Well, maybe slightly relevant in showing the BS hypocrisy of the person being exposed if they used to question the morals of homosexuals and suggest that 9/11 was a punishment for America turning away from God.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

I'd say it would serve both the GOP and Alabamans right if Moore sticks this out and is actually elected. Having Moore in the senate as a walking poster boy to hypocrisy would ensure the issue does not soon fade away.

Similarly, seems as if Sessions is being pressured to open an investigation into Clinton and Uranium One. He has steadfastly avoided doing so thus far for very good reasons, but he may not be able to hold off the pressure much longer. Such an investigation would also serve the GOP right.

Winning.

One pundit made a good point: one accuser of decades ago leaves plenty of room for skepticism; a half-dozen plus mall stalking anecdotes - meh, not so much, unless you're either very gullible or don't care about the matter.

Still, I'd love to see the GOP elect Moore. Then they'd own him, as they do Trump.

Male and female assault victims are coming out of the woodwork of Hollywood and politics

People are coming out now together because there's strength in numbers - when it's just one by him- or herself came out years ago, he/she would be the only one dealing with the whole mania by herself. That's a scary task for a regular person - moreso when he/she has not much monetary or political power at the time

But when other people are coming out too, then everybody is sharing the burden - and he/she knows that they're not alone in the fight. That makes the task to come out a lot less scary - it's human psychology

Her voting record is here:

https://heavyeditorial.files.wordpress.com/2017/11/untitled17.jpg

According to Alabama voting records, Nelson’s voter profile is “inactive.”

According to the Alabama Secretary of State, being an “inactive voter” means that they didn’t respond to a mailing requesting to update their information and are still eligible to vote as a normal voter.

http://sos.alabama.gov/newsroom/inactive-voters-voter-record-refresh-information

Inactive voters could still vote - it doesn't necessarily mean they didn't vote. Her voting record doesn't show whether she voted or not (or how she voted of course since that's supposed to be secret)

Washington Post and local AL media group have been sent legal documents for defamation as well as identifying the yearbook annotation as fake. Accuser stepson says it’s not true as well.

All this is really doing is bringing Bill Clinton back into the spotlight and casting suspicion on Joe Biden. Boomerang just like Russia “collusion”.

As expected, the arm-chair, fair-weather constitutionalists put their ignorance of American law on display. "Innocent until proven guilty" is a criminal standard for the purpose of criminal jurisprudence in the USA. People around these parts love to trot it out when sacred, annointed lamb Trump or any of his apostles are in the dumpster... And they quckly abondon it whenever Hillary Clinton or other lame DNC scoundrels suffer the slings and arrows and the trolls wipe their backsides with the constitution and get right into lynch-mob mode. Hypocrites all around. And, for your edification, "guilty until proven innocent" does not apply to elections, attorneys, loans, et hoc genus omne... It is a criminal prosecution standard. The bank does not assume you are innocent of bad credit reporting... And it does not have to. An attorney must avoid the "appearance" of impropriety... Not just actual impropriety. And a politician must wrestle with the "swift-boating" and hope... Or trick... That the people will not be distracted by lies and chicanery... But politicians are not "innocent until proven guilty" ... Unless it suits the fair-weather friends (but, in reality, perverted abusers) of the constitution. Let he who has never disparaged Hillary Clinton without a final, criminal conviction by a court of law claim that this would-be senator or Trump is innocent until proven guilty. Lucky for me, all of the above in the DNC and the RNC are equally contemptible and deserve worse than what they get. Damn them all... But don't hide behind the skirts of a constitution you apply when it suits you.

All this is really doing is bringing Bill Clinton back into the spotlight

Yes, and check what was on Hannity and Friends today:

Fox Host Told Trump to Appoint Special Counsel To Investigate Clinton at Private Meeting With President

So what is Trump waiting for? LOCK HER UP!! LOCK HER UP!! If Hillary is not locked up it is Trump's fault. Hannity told Trump to lock her up and he is obliged to listen to the FOX News crew.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Nelson batted aside any suggestion that she was motivated by politics. "My husband and I supported Donald Trump for president," she said.

The Alabama state election commission begs to differ. They show no person by that name nor any variation of that name voted last November; either by absentee ballot or actually voting on Nov. 8.

And the smoking gun yearbook from 40 years ago she offered up as "proof" has now also come into question on several key points (misspelling of the diner she worked at, different colored ink used in the signature, incorrect title of Judge Moore at that time, etc.).

This latest accusation against Judge Moore doesn't even come close to passing the straight face test. . . .

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

How deep down will the supporters of this hideous man dig, I wonder?

I'd be bringing a means of escape from that hole, if I was them.

This unfortunate victim will have to suffer the vitriol and mockery by the men who will do or say anything to excuse Moore's behaviour. As if she hasn't suffered enough.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

what I heard is that Moore stays and wins

Now Sean Hannity Is Calling For Roy Moore To Drop Out Of Senate Race

(FOX News)

Please make up your mind Hannity, you are confusing Donald Trump. What do you want Donald Trump to think and do?

if innocent until proven guilty no longer applies to elections I guess we won’t see Joe Biden running for president in 2020 now?

As he has been accused of inappropriate behavior by his ex secret service detail and I can no longer consider him innocent I guess he just needs to step away from any future campaign based only on the accusation itself.

So what of Bill’s “victims” don’t they matter? Why was their evidence viewed and discarded as inconsistent but we can’t look into the inconsistencies of Moore's accusers?

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

if innocent until proven guilty no longer applies to elections I guess we won’t see Joe Biden running for president in 2020 now?

"Innocent until proven guilty" is a criminal law doctrine, has nothing to do with the court of public opinion or even an election.

Why try so hard to defend a groper? Because he's a republican? Sad.

and I can no longer consider him innocent I guess he just needs to step away from any future campaign based only on the accusation itself.

You are one person. If enough people agree and there is some validity to the claims, then sure.

So what of Bill’s “victims” don’t they matter?

Bill ain't an Alabama senate candidate. Try to pay attention, BL.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Why try so hard to defend a groper? Because he's a republican? Sad.

Has nothing to do with that. I’m not a partisan. When Clinton was going through the impeachment witch hunt by The GOP I thought it was a bad thing as well and waited for the facts to come out before I threw him under the bus. Take the emotion out of the argument. The man is innocent until proven otherwise. Having said that, I do have my suspicions and it doesn’t look good and I am slowly skeptical of his story a bit. The new allegations and the signing of the high school year book is making me take a second new look of this situation. But again, the man is innocent until proven otherwise, but at the very least, I think he should as of now step aside until pending further investigation.

Bill ain't an Alabama senate candidate. Try to pay attention, BL.

No, they do matter. Why, oh, why the left try to run always?

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Something Ana Navarro said really stuck in my mind. There isn't that much talk amongst the Democrats like Chuck Schumer. In fact, they're possibly even anticipating this pedophile to be elected. Why? Because that would really cause even more damage to the Republican party (if that's even possible!)

Kinda like how those who hate America were actually hoping that Trump would win the presidential election. China (and now Duerte's Philippines) sure as heck didn't want Clinton preaching them on human rights issues. Russia can control America. ISIS and other Muslim countries would have more of an excuse to preach hate towards America. And other countries can also laugh and tut-tut at America.

It's ironic how the most virulent of homophobes have so many skeletons in the closet. People should check how many child rapists he himself let off. He probably empathized with those sort of criminals. He has a disgusting and disturbing record as a judge.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

my point is non partisan about needing definite proof before punishment.

if we eliminate innocent until proven guilty no one will be able to do anything. No election candidates, no movie stars, no sports stars. Just accuse and they are gone.

I like how every time I try to apply a general concept to follow for EVERYONE that is fair and equal, a Clinton is exempt.

Bill exempt just because he isn’t an AL candidate? Hillary exempt cause she not president? So they are innocent until proven guilty, why can’t Moore get the same?

And no comments on Biden? Accusation made so he is out, right? I prefer we keep innocent until proven guilty, or else this all gets nonsensical.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Why does a candidate have to step aside for 40 year old allegations but a current senator who was indicted and currently on trial for recent acts does not?

Simply let the voters decide if they believe these allegations or not and if they do, he doesn’t win. He should not be forced to step aside if a guy already in the job isn’t.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Yeah; who cares. As long as the voters believe he's sound. You know; he seems on the ball about Muslims and the gays. What's a bit of sexual assault and underage dodginess, at the end of the day?

After all; it worked out well for the other guy, right?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Clinton is exempt

Hannity and Friends are trying to convince Trump. Trump voters need to be patient:

Fox Host Told Trump to Appoint Special Counsel To Investigate Clinton at Private Meeting With President

Just wait. Trump got his instructions from FOX News. Just be patient and Trump will LOCK HER UP!!! LOCK HER UP!!!. It's in Trump's court. Hannity has told Trump to arrest Hillary so if that doesn't happen then Trump needs to be blamed, not Hillary.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

if we eliminate innocent until proven guilty no one will be able to do anything. No election candidates, no movie stars, no sports stars. Just accuse and they are gone.

You can't eliminate something that doesn't exist. I've already said it, "innocent until proven guilty" is a part of criminal law- not relevant to our discussion here. And I must add, its awfully strange to see you whine about "innocent until proven guilty," but what is it you said about Harvey Weinstein? You assumed he was guilty, because he's a "liberal." You are ridiculous.

I like how every time I try to apply a general concept to follow for EVERYONE that is fair and equal, a Clinton is exempt.

You make nonsensical arguments and then huff and puff when pointed out. Who cares about Bill and Hillary Clinton? They aren't running for office, and its quite clear from your posts that you think they are guilty. Just stop, already.

If you are okay with a scumbag like Moore becoming a senator, then so be it, but spare me the lecture on "traditional values."

And no comments on Biden? Accusation made so he is out, right?

I addressed your absurd comment. Don't whine cuz its not the answer you wanted.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

you actually didn’t answer clearly about Biden. Now that he has been accused (and his guilt doesn’t have to be proven) he must step aside for any future elections, right? Yes? No?

I said nothing about traditional values. I said if your position is that no one is innocent until proven guilty why is your point that Hillary and Bill and Weinstein aren’t guilty? They are “guilty” same as you say Moore is, with no proof needed.

Anyone accused is now guilty by default, that’s why your position is nonsensical if this is what you are advocating.

hey even a Dem senator agrees it’s innocent until proven guilty though:

Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) said Moore or anyone accused of criminal behavior is “innocent until proven guilty.”

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

This guy needs investigating. As do all alleged abusers.

Why must the plight of the victims be obscured by political point scoring?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

you actually didn’t answer clearly about Biden. Now that he has been accused (and his guilt doesn’t have to be proven) he must step aside for any future elections, right? Yes? No?

I was very clear:

If enough people agree and there is some validity to the claims, then sure.

You are not, despite what you apparently believe, the arbiter of "guilty" or "not." I have not seen anything about Biden being accused of sexual harassment, care to provide a link?

Anyone accused is now guilty by default, that’s why your position is nonsensical if this is what you are advocating.

Can you grasp the difference between criminal court and the court of public opinion, yes or no?

Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) said Moore or anyone accused of criminal behavior is “innocent until proven guilty.”

Nothing on google, link please.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

http://thehill.com/homenews/senate/360396-gop-hopes-trump-will-save-alabama-senate-seat

Senator Tester’s quote is there.

Here is Biden:

http://thegatewaypundit.com/2017/11/exclusive-former-joe-biden-secret-service-agent-protect-women-weinstein-level-stuff/

so it’s an unproven accusation from a source that might have political motives. Same as WaPo and Moore.

So if Moore guilty simply by accusation or “appearance of impropriety” isn’t Biden? We have all seen Biden’s kinda awkward videos interacting with girls and people’s wives.

This is why I want actual proof first to prevent both of these situations. Not proof in a court of law, just proof that holds up under basic scrutiny.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Hehehehe.....

It's going to be funny to watch our slippery paid Russian contributors backtrack their recent support of this horrible individual Moore. The geezer was even on a mall pervert watch list.

Our few remaining Independent Republicans will simply bend over and read out their new Bubble talking points, like all evangelicals - knowing the difference between right and wrong they simply do not care. The purest examples of hypocrites the world has even seen.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Senator Tester’s quote is there.

Notice the "criminal behavior" part of the court. Of course he is innocent until proven guilty- in court! But, not in my mind, 5 women have now come forward. The latest even has shown his signature in her yearbook as proof. Hell no, you can't convict on that, but that's something. Also, let's not forget his interview where he stated "Not generally, no," when asked about dating teens when he was in his 20s.

Let's also not forget: Moore was banned from a mall for acting improperly around teens. That is a hell of lot more than a garbage article from thegatewaypundit.

Pro-tip: Try to avoid trashy, right-wing sites like the Gateway Pundit- its bird cage liner.

This is why I want actual proof first to prevent both of these situations. Not proof in a court of law, just proof that holds up under basic scrutiny.

The proof DOES hold up, stop defending pedophiles. Its just sick.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

The Gateway Pundit?

Really?

Why the linking to bona fide all out loonspittle sites like this, Breitbart and InfoWars?

Ye gods, I'd have more time for Fox compared to such badly defined toss as these ones.

Even Fox has debunked the Uranium One controversy. Astounding as it sounds.

Moore at the very least, comes off as a dodgy predator of teens. And the biblical justifications for his alleged actions is pretty ... odd.

In fairness to Blacklabel; you do debate and reply to posts which challenge your stance. Unlike some posters who don't appear to have the courage of their convictions and disappear after one post.

I still think you should take a step back on this guy, though. It's looking extremely grim.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

The new mantra in politics, Hollywood and the Catholic Church is guilty by accusation!

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

The Washington Post? Really?

Same reaction for me as you get when you hear breitbart/infowars/gateway pundit. I totally get that though, there is bias on both sides.

Im not even supporting Moore. Just want an actual agreement of fairness for how we will treat ALL “allegations” as it relates to proof. Needed for all or not needed for all?

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

All sexual assaulters, perverts and rapists should be in prison. Moore, Weinstein, Weiner, Trump, ALL.

Tell me, how do you know Moore, Weinstein, and Trump are rapists?

Oh, I know: you don't.

A part of a plea deal, Weiner pled guilty in federal court to transferring obscene material to a minor. Which is a crime. But, no: you would have us send people to prison because they are accused of a crime.

Maybe you don't know me. Maybe you don't know I hate Roy Moore. I've hated him ever since I learned he wants to put the 10 Commandments on public (govt. owned property). Because he and his Right Wing Christian supporters want to make America a White Christian Nation. May you don't know I hate jerks like Roy More because the White Christian (and largely Southern) Nationalist took their stanglehold on the Republican Party and turned from a party for the Rich to a party of Torture, Stupidity and Hate.

Maybe you don't know the only thing standing between bigoted right-wing brownshirt trogs like Moore and Trump is, uh, common decency and what that thing called?

Oh, right: the rule of law.

So now maybe you understand just 'cause you hate someone, and just 'cause that person has been accused of a crime, that don't mean they should be in prison. They should be in prison when they are found guilty by a due process of law.

And if you don't get that, you know nothing.

Signing a yearbook or dating a girl 16 or older (especially in the late 1970s) or supposedly bring banned from a mall isn’t disqualifying for being a Senate candidate. Proof of wrongdoing is what I’m looking for.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

I think he's guilty as sin.

BlacklabelToday  03:13 am JST Proof of wrongdoing is what I’m looking for.

Really?

Yesterday you were pushing that nonsense about Clinton and the uranium.

I realise you're getting paid to use your perfect English to divide American opinion on the Internet, but it's pretty obvious to anyone capable of abstract thought what you're up to. Moore will be gone soon and your positions will look ridiculous.

Nastrovia....

6 ( +6 / -0 )

These rapists are coming out from below every rock and out of every dark place. It is distinctly possible that they represent an enormous shift in our understanding of mental disorder and how it works on a massive cultural scale. Most people I have spoken to strongly support the idea of allowing women to carry guns that only fire with their finger print, and without a permit so no one can know if a woman has one, and of course to make it entirely legal to kill a rapist. Even to pay her a fee for doing so. India has legalized the murder of rapists in self defence. Its time that other nations did likewise. And, of course, the political, corporate, and religious structures that nurture and protect this culture of violent hate for women should be held accountable, fined, seized, or otherwise dismantled. Stop at no one, no matter where the trail leads, or we face a demographic problem unlike anything we have imagined. Ever.

Russian media. Republican media. What's the difference?

f Moore guilty simply by accusation or “appearance of impropriety” isn’t Biden? We have all seen Biden’s kinda awkward videos interacting with girls and people’s wives.

That’s a great point. I think you just set out Moore’s defence in count if he ever ends up there:

Your honour, I stand before you accused of impropriety with young women, but in my defence have you seen Joe Biden?

To which the judge would surely reply:

I have seen Joe Biden. I find this man innocient by reason of whataboutism.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Yesterday you were pushing that nonsense about Clinton and the uranium.

Nonesense? Seems more nd more like Sessions is going to appoint a special counsel to look into The Uranium One deal as well as the fake dossier that Dems so conveniently seem to have amnesia. So when it happens, just wait and see what comes of it, but Sessions didn’t say he would recuse himself or not, that’s huge, so time will tell.

I realise you're getting paid to use your perfect English to divide American opinion on the Internet, but it's pretty obvious to anyone capable of abstract thought what you're up to.

What? Lol

Moore will be gone soon and your positions will look ridiculous.

Why is it that Europeans think they have say as to what goes on within our political system, it just baffles me, but also amusing at the same time.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

We don't care. Going after Clinton is a GOP cult thing and sells a lot of ads on Fox News. Have at it, lock her up, do your worst, and maybe then you'll be able to get on with your lives and find some measure of peace, and then maybe you can leave the rest of us alone about it.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

This deflection is ridiculous. HRC has nothing to do with Roy Moore. And even Fox News have debunked the Uranium One scandal!

http://video.foxnews.com/v/5646426075001/?#sp=show-clips

Oh and Europeans and every other people in the world have a say on what goes on in the US, as it affect the rest of the world.

Your country assumed the role of global policeman, leader of the free world and what you do can have grave consequences for the rest of us.

If it bothers you that Europeans should have a say, why doesn't it bother you that Russians meddle in your elections?

Anyway, the good news is that Roy Moore will hopefully be booted out and his victims will get justice. Even Ivanka believes the victims.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

You guys just don’t want to have ONE standard or ONE system of justice do you?

thats why this “whataboutism” deflection word you guys made up needs to exist. You say political opponent A did this and must be punished but defer any judgement when political teammate B does the exact same thing.

So obviously we want to know why person B is exempt from the rules or how their situation differs.

Also Judge Moore signed her divorce papers in 1999 so she has his signature on file. Why does his yearbook inscription from 1977 have a copy of the judge’s signature from the divorce to include the initials of his assistant from the 1999 document?

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

@madverts yet I have been a member of this site since its existence. Have even been an admin here under previous ownership in the Forum days.

Try dialog instead of fake news. “Look it’s a paid Russian!” false accusation. Is that you have for me?

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

Well all I can say is that it is obvious that certain people will fight to have two sets of rules to protect their wrongdoers while still having the option to use it against politicized enemies.

I simply want one set equally and fairly applied. I thought this existed and was called “the law”. But seems it isn’t like that any more with “convictions in the press” and public opinion being all that matters now. It’s a scary and dangerous shift away from the legal system in place.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

Due to media bias

100% Not true

FOX News which is the No. 1 news network is covering all the terrible things Hillary did. On the Hannity and Friends news show they are pushing for her conviction for selling uranium to the Russians and her other crimes like Benghazi. Donald Trump watches FOX every day so no one can say the news is unfairly unbiased against Trump.

I find it amazing that people who call themselves Christians support pedaphilia and sexual assault. Many of these same people oppose the right of a child who is pregnant by a rape to get an abortion, even if the rapist is a blood relative.

A late night comedian had a good joke about Southern Evangelicals. He asked, what do these Evangelicals and a Long Island Iced Tea have in common? Neither one is what it claims to be.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

I find it amazing that people who call themselves Christians support pedaphilia and sexual assault.

I call out the right for making statements like this, so I have to call out the left too.

I don't think anyone (other than maybe pedophiles) is supporting pedophilia and/or sexual assault. They are just not willing to condemn Moore due to the fact that he is on their team, and they are not willing to condemn someone on Team Red.

best jokes i've heard so far about moore:

he's been thrown out of 3 courts, the alabama sumpreme court twice and the mall food court.

yeah, i saw him talking to a fourteen-year-old girl at a high school football team, but at least he stood for the anthem.
