I wonder if when signing up with a Sherpas group, are the Sherpas required to stay with the climbers all the way to the summit? If something happens to the climbers, are the Sherpas legally responsible?

Not surprised the Europeans got kicked back down the mountain. High altitudes and egos are a bad mix.

Ya... That's a very dangerous situation. A trip like that requires team work. If you have any malice towards the people you're climbing with, you probably should reconsider the climb for your and their safety.
