Andrei Marochko, an officer of the pro-Russian Luhansk People's Militia

The Luhansk People's Militia are not Russian soldiers or even Russian citizens, they are Ukrainian citizens.

They are not even professional soldiers.

They are yesteday's miners, farmers and factory workers who are fighting for their families and their culture.

They have lived in East Ukraine for generations and don't recognize the current regime in Kiev as legitimate. Nor do they want to uproot their lives and "move to Russia".

East Ukraine is their home and they will fight for it.

What is your solution for Ukrainain,I am not suffering, this war only are impacting people, that do business with Russia or Ukraine,I think Biden is doing too much ,and hindering Ukrainain to make an objective decision, not based on America helping with it

-13 ( +6 / -19 )

Russia's TASS news agency as saying that the militia's red hammer-and-sickle flag was now flying over the administrative building in Lysychansk, although Ukraine's military rejected claims that the city was encircled.

Tass again? Who knows what is actually happening and which side's reporting to trust, but if in fact the red hammer and sickle was flying, it shows to me Putin's brand of national socialism is little different from Stalin's. How will Steve Bannon and others in the global alt right media spin this, or will they ignore it, and blame the problems on western media reporting. Can one of the anti-west Putin backers tell their idol most of the rest of the world are happy WW2 ended, and that although Russia and China paid great prices while helping defeat the Axis powers, they did not end up ahead like the US and the west, and many of us do not want WW3 so this time the Russia/China bloc can have another chance at being on top.

Russia had used Snake Island to impose a blockade on Ukraine, one of the world's biggest grain exporters and a major producer of seed for vegetable oils. The disruptions have helped fuel a surge in global grain and food prices.

Sorry, not true. The Ukrainians have mined the port of Odessa to help prevent the Russians landing by sea. The Russian "offer" for the Ukrainians to remove the mines and resume grain exports from Odessa would obviously make it much easier for Russia to then attack from the sea. Puts Ukraine in a difficult position. Meanwhile Russia is happy with the raise in grain prices as the sanctions are hurting the western nations and Russia gets more for its grain and also grain its is allegedly "liberating" from Ukraine.

Can one of the anti-west Putin backers tell their idol most of the rest of the world are happy WW2 ended,

haha, I wouldn’t hold your breath.

hindering Ukrainain to make an objective decision

what a load of rubbish. Ukraine will do what’s best for Ukraine - which is kicking the invading Russians out of their country.

Russia had used Snake Island to impose a blockade on Ukraine, one of the world's biggest grain exporters and a major producer of seed for vegetable oils. The disruptions have helped fuel a surge in global grain and food prices.

This is false. Russia has offered Ukraine safe passage to ships carrying grain, but Ukraine needs to remove all the sea mines. Ships won't come in to the mined ports because they will lose their insurance.

Latest news is that Russia is helping to get Ukraine grain out for export. Russian grain and vegetable oil, fertilizers is a different story. Why would Russia send these goods to the countries who have sanctioned Russia and stolen their money ?

-11 ( +11 / -22 )

Zelensky is only concerned about keeping his tin cup out , while the donation are still coming in ,some members of Congress are questioning development in Ukraine,as for as the prosecution of the war and want answers, not Ukrainain fable like the Ghost of Kiev ,to assess whether to support this money pit,NBC is having a patriotic special tomorrow, not for America, but for Ukrainain

-11 ( +11 / -22 )

Ukrainain will do what it take too keep, this money flowing into Ukraine

Actually I think the truth is that many of them are Russian soldiers, and the others are trained by Russia. Many, if not a majority now, also have Russian citizenship so let’s cut the Kremlin propaganda and be a bit more honest!

7 ( +16 / -9 )

Why would Russia send these goods to the countries who have sanctioned Russia and stolen their money ?

are you suggesting the sanctions against Russia are unwarranted ?

Zelensky is only concerned about keeping his tin cup out ,

Zelensky is only concerned about saving his country from the murderous invading Russians.

He’ll be remembered as a modern day Churchill, while most of his baggers here will be remembered as supporters of tyranny

Will Russia force open the blockade in Lithuania? It seems they’ll want another corridor to K-Russia through Belarus and Lithuania.

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

Ukraine is losing, losing badly.

Short of direct NATO intervention (unlikely anyway, given Russia has the world's largest nuclear arsenal and it's not afraid of using it), there's no David prevailing against Goliath scenario, as some seem to be dreaming of.

The longer this go on, the more destroyed Ukraine will be and will become even smaller.

You can put a lipstick on this pig; it's still a pig.

No amount of Western propaganda will revert the course of this war.

Russia will win big.

Oh, and Snake Island was never crucial in order to dominate the Black Sea.

Crimea is.

Simples.

Then I think you need to look at this current administration more closely and hope for the best.

-10 ( +3 / -13 )

Copy and pasted right out of the NATO MIC Zelenskyy play book

Concerning the fights in the Luhansk and Donbas region:

the aggressors are mainly Russian troops and separatists who are trained and supported by "Uncle Vladi".

Besides, even if Luhansk falls under Russian control, this won't be the end of the war.

Expect counter-strikes, sabotaging, and resistance! As others have said, Russia is making some progress, but we are not talking about miles, however, feet. In addition, look at the losses Russia (not only, I know) is experiencing. 3 months and 30.000 ?) troops gone, add to this roughly 3 times the amount of wounded. Not even talking about lost military hardware! "Uncle Vladi" will soon be running out of "supplies".

If either men are elected, Russia will probably withdraw immediately. There would be no appeasement of capitulation.

You believe if desantis were elected president Russia would immediately withdraw from Ukraine?

Do you spend a lot of time daydreaming about things like this?

Who would win in a fight, Batman or Superman?

More or less yes.

Do you spend a lot of time daydreaming about things like this?

I leave that to the left.

Of course you do, except when you do it. Like you just did.

No, because I’m not a politician, it’s m a voter who would never vote for this mess so, sorry….

-10 ( +1 / -11 )

there's no David prevailing against Goliath scenario

sorry to rain on your Putin parade, but there have been precedents of David victories -

from the journal of a KLA freedom fighter during the Yugoslavia conflicts -

In the Bosnia conflict, the Serbs had occupied all land routes. Sarajevo was besieged and the situation looked dire. Many an “analyst” or “expert” of the time were saying that the war was as good as over and that the Serbs had won.

Two and a half years later, several combined Bosnian-Croat offensives (Operations “Storm”, Lightning”, Maestral” and “Summer ‘95”) completely turned the tide.

In just a few short weeks, the Serbs lost everything they had conquered all the years before and even more.

This also happened in Kosovo, which was 100% occupied by the enemy. The headlines of a French newspaper wrote “Has the KLA lost the war?” A little more than a year later, Kosovo was liberated, and the Serbs had left the country in shame.

@Seapig

I think the truth is that many of them are Russian soldiers, and the others are trained by Russia. Many, if not a majority now, also have Russian citizenship

And I think that thousands of Ukrosoldiers were trained by NATO, there are a lot of NATO instructors and advisers, and many Ukropoliticians have passports of other countries.

@tooheysnew

Zelensky is only concerned about saving his country from the murderous invading Russians. He’ll be remembered as a modern day Churchill

LOL!! That was a good one. Actually Zelensky will be remembered just as Ghani. Wait, you don’t know who Ghani is? He was the Western-backed president of Afghanistan who fled from Kabul last year.

Sarajevo was besieged and the situation looked dire. Many an “analyst” or “expert” of the time were saying that the war was as good as over and that the Serbs had won

Donetsk, the main city of Donbass, is besieged since 2014 and the situation looks dire. Many an “analyst” or “expert” of the time were saying that the war was as good as over and that the Ukroforces had won. Well, these experts proved wrong.

@ok1517

Expect counter-strikes, sabotaging, and resistance!

Nothing so far. As soon as Ukroforces fled, the liberated areas return to normal, peaceful life that was there before the brutal Ukrainization policy was forced on them.

Saigon-1975, Kabul-2021, Kiev - …?

-6 ( +7 / -13 )

Donbass is two independent countries. Ukraine is supposed to be independent and neutral but it sure doesn’t look that way. Research history of the region and you will find before the USSR, Donbass was a tough independent country between Russia and Ukraine.

Donbass is no longer Ukraine. I believe that history always changes. Unfortunately violently mostly, like the fishermen when UK left the EU.

-8 ( +8 / -16 )

@tooheysnew

This also happened in Kosovo, which was 100% occupied by the enemy

Kosovo is inherent Serbian territory, occupied by armed, vicious separatists, trained and supported from abroad. If you support Kosovan separatists in their fight against the lawful government, why you deny the same right to the people of Donbass?

President Putin stumbled, staggered if you believe the latest media briefings, absences for emergency medical treatment, even in an effort to extend his life baths in blood extracted from deer antlers in Siberia, body tremors to an array of terminal cancers, into an unwinnable war.

The War in Ukraine has morphed into a war of attrition, effectively a war without end.

Putin has isolated his own country and people, with the almost daily reports of deliberate act of genocide and atrocities.

Putin has managed to achieve the unthinkable, in just over one hundred days, unite the west, NATO in witnessing the humiliation, as the myth of all those Russian May Day military parades, literality collapse in front of a global audience.

The total lack of a workable strategy, or clear set of achievable courses of action or approach has brutally backfired under the bravery or an adversary that refuses to surrender.

The Government of China duplicity has been smoked out.

Both the Russian and Chinese Governments will now have to face the consequences

Ukrainian media quoted Vadym Denysenko, an adviser to Ukraine's Interior Ministry, as saying that the Russian claims to have surrounded Lysychansk were a lie aimed at demoralising Ukrainians and encouraging pro-Russian forces.

I don't believe anything TASS says but I am just as skeptical of anything Ukraine officially says.

Come on this same ministry claimed it's fighters didn't surender at Azovstal in Mariupol, the same ministry claimed it's forces had pushed Russians back across the border in Kharkiv region only for the head of Ukraine's SBU to say it was staged ( they fired him and 3 other SBU cheifs for saying facts) then less than 2 days after the border claim Russians were sitting on the outskirts of Kharkiv city far inside the border too far to have done it in 2 days.

Sadly we are dealing with the 2 most corrupt countries in Europe #1 Russia #2 Ukraine ( not my opinion just the facts pre war) they both lie non stop, and are both corrupt to the point we cannot tell who is telling the truth.

How does one define winning or losing a war, counting the epitaphs?

If one wasn't aware of the histrionics into the devastation of WW2, Did modern day Japan or Germany win or lose?

Think about it.

The only winner is war itself.

President Putin stumbled, staggered if you believe the latest media briefings, absences for emergency medical treatment, even in an effort to extend his life baths in blood extracted from deer antlers in Siberia, body tremors to an array of terminal cancers, into an unwinnable war.

Seriously we have people reposting this type of propaganda?

Wow the desperation is starting to show, you can no longer push the "Ukraine is winning" or "Ukraine can win" because people are not that stupid and see Ukraine losing more and more territory every day.

So now we get the crazy stuff.

Next will be what? Putin is actually an alien with supernatural powers!

That supposedly intelligent people are resorting to tabloid trash is sad.

Try sticking with facts! Yes I know the facts are not to your liking but that is life and why they are called facts but fellings.

-8 ( +7 / -15 )

Antiquesaving, I never suggested I believed these reports, even if the WWF has proposed that Siberian deer appeared nervous and stressed.

Putin is actually an alien with supernatural powers!,

Get away, if so would Captain Russia, Slaverine. be a superhero or a villain.

It is an interesting theory, as a means to understand what motivates President Putin to embark on a invasion and subsequently a war he cannot win

Wars have never amounted in the political world, in any respect as means to achieve a goal.

A lecture once stated a war is an augment between nations that has got out of hand.

The result is what we are all witnessing.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

Even in MSM they are forced to admit the locals overwhelmingly are rooting for the Russians.

-1 ( +9 / -10 )

We are fed propaganda everyday especially by the western media because we know better than to believe Russia and the western countries have done their best to block any pro Russian news

But the cracks in the western propaganda is starting to show.

Russian advances can no longer be hidden, the " we are united" claims from Ukraine are no longer believable when Ukraine has to block fighting age men from existing the country and has requested that Canada, the USA, UK and EU not accept fighting aged Ukraine men as refugees unless Ukraine gives the Ok.

The desertion rate in Ukraine is apparent now with well over 10,000 Ukrainian POWs in Russian hands most having just crossed over and surrendered.

Then we have the false statement " the world is united in support of Ukraine".

False easily proven.

195 countries in the world fewer than 40 have joined the sanctions on Russia, by that Only the USA and Canada, NZ, Australia, UK the EU and a few more.

In Asia only Japan and South Korea have done the bare minimum, the rest nothing. In the middle East Nothing no country, in Africa one possibility 2 countries, central and south america as far as I could find one not even Mexico.

The facts no long can be hidden by the propaganda, on both sides now.

-5 ( +9 / -14 )

Propaganda aside, I don't and never will believe that either the Russian or Ukrainian Government can win this war.

For the Russian soldiers and Ukraine civilians the losses are real and raw.

Burying the dead, soon to be another epitaph for the Ukrainian/Russian people to mourn the needless slathering.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Antiquesaving, you will be surprised how few people take in media propaganda, few outside of the gossip columns, football, baseball scores take any notice or even purchase a newspaper.

Mention the war in Ukraine and you are guaranteed to empty my favorite izakaya quicker than the fire alarm.

People have become anesthetised to counting the dead.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

195 countries in the world fewer than 40 have joined the sanctions on Russia, by that Only the USA and Canada, NZ, Australia, UK the EU and a few more.

‘Only’ those 5 countries, the EU and ‘a few more’ is a far from insignificant statistic however you choose to spin it. 40 out of 195 is not a few.

-1 ( +8 / -9 )

AS,

you say you’re not supporting Russia but your one sided infatuation with facts says otherwise
