FDNY and NYPD are paid too much, are too well trained and are given far too much responsibility to behave like such big cry babies. If any group of people should have a sense of duty, meaning a duty to the people of their city, to their neighbors and co-workers to do everything possible, every little thing and that means wearing face masks and getting vaccinated, it is firefighters and police. They expect the population at large to obey laws and do the right things to prevent crime, prevent traffic collisions and to prevent fires. They do lots of outreach to educate the public. But when it comes to them acting responsible and having a sense of duty a proportion of them fail. So I have no sympathy for those who refuse to acknowledge their duty to their community and to their nation when they hold positions of great responsibility such as firefighters and police officers. They should set the example of duty for all the rest of us to follow, now whine and stomp their feet like spoiled children.

Disgraceful behavior from professionals who should be better educated and as Desert Tortoise says, setting the example to follow.

These people should all be put on half pay until they meet the safety requirements for their job. Or they can leave and seek new employment elsewhere.

Resist!

Resist healthcare?

No.

Good riddance. People who do not care about public health should never be working in government.

Get ready for vaccine passports. It’s too bad they’re not out yet.

The "Yellow Card", formally called the International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis has been around since 1933 and nothing bad happened as a result. You could not enter some countries unless you had the required vaccinations. Big deal. From all the whining and foot stomping one would think the equivalent vaccine passport was the end of civilization as we know it. Au contraire, if we do not conquer this pandemic civilized life as we have become accustomed to is not possible. Ending the pandemic, not pretending it doesn't exist but actually ending it, is the first order of business that everything else depends upon.

If one works up close to the public, there must be a requirement that they are fully vaccinated.

It is sound common sense.
