This is absolutely outrageous. Donald Trump is dangerous. I can understand Republicans wanting a Republican president. I can understand people not liking Hillary Clinton. But how can any reasonable person vote for Donald Trump?

22 ( +25 / -3 )

"Stupid is as stupid does."

-- Melania Trump

21 ( +26 / -5 )

Good God how many times can this idiot put his foot in his mouth?

21 ( +27 / -6 )

Its a bug. Not a feature.

Yea, Republicans. You built that.

17 ( +22 / -5 )

Trump doing what he does best being stupid..what is even more stupid is his followers that continue to follow him...

16 ( +22 / -6 )

MarkG, So joking about murder is acceptable to you, if it is your candidate? What will you not excuse, while lying and exaggerating until it becomes the same as a lie?

Nothing, of course.

16 ( +18 / -2 )

Why doesn't the GOP just tell this lunatic to throw in the towel for the good of the country

14 ( +16 / -2 )

@MarkG what Trump said is just simply wrong there are no woeful excuses..you cant polish a turd...

14 ( +15 / -1 )

One, Clinton has never advocated an sort of platform that would "abolish" the 2nd amendment. So that, right from the start is a bald faced lie from Trump. One of hundreds.

Two, you naive, embarrassingly gullible folks here and everywhere who still continue to support this lunatic can play semantics and whinge like thumb-sucking babies all day long about MSM bias and the "establishment" working against Trump, but at the end of the day, this searing douchbag of a man-child just not-so-subtly suggested that political assassination was a viable course for the electorate.

After a throurough and well overdue psyche evaluation, Trump needs to be locked up in a federal prison.

13 ( +15 / -2 )

If you want to win an election, you have to target the majority of voters. Getting the stupid on your side is a successful, age-old strategy.

12 ( +15 / -3 )

bass4funk,

Hillary has made and keeps on making gaffes herself

Hillary has said nothing that comes even remotely close to the bigoted, angry, hurtful bile that has come from Trump.

If you think you can prove me wrong, then please, by all means, provide an example of something she has said that has belittled, ridiculed, or outright insulted an entire demographic of Americans.

Or, if that proves too challenging, please provide an example of Hillary during this campaign inviting a foreign government to interfere in this election.

And if that proves too daunting, then please provide an example of Hillary inciting violence.

Any example will do you and I'll spot you any campaign rally going back to the Obama/Hillary Democratic campaign back in 2008.

Trump is not a good speaker, we all get that, but Hillary is not that much better, especially when you compare her to her husband.

As an intelligent person, you cannot possibly believe this all boils down to a simple difference in speaking styles.

It's the content of the speech and not, as you would have us believe, the delivery.

12 ( +13 / -1 )

You've got to love it when you directly quote Trump and the right-wingers panic and claim "media bias", and say an assassination threat is a "joke".

Classy as always, Republicans.

12 ( +15 / -3 )

Holy crap.

We're at a point you can't say anything. He obviously was joking.

Oh, so it was just an assassination joke. Hilarious. You do know that this sort of thing usually ends with the secret service paying a visit yo your house, right? I guess that's not necessary as Trump already has his own personal detail already.

What happened to "personal responsibility"? I thought the Republicans were big on that. Yet here we are, pretending that the Republican nominee's words don't carry any sort of weight. Unfit for high office, indeed.

11 ( +12 / -1 )

We must be "uneducated"

Americans arent uneducated, but those who support Trump (which most Americans dont) overwhelmingly are. White voters without college degrees are the demographic where he by far gets the bulk of his support.

That isn`t hyperbole, every poll out which measures it shows pretty conclusively that people with a college education disapprove of Trump by a huge margin.

...we live in a very beautiful STICK BUILT HOME.LOL Frankly, stereotyping as liberals do - is the trait of the UNEDUCATED

As is writing, unprompted, about how nice your home is in all-caps.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

Trump says gun-rights backers can stop Clinton

I did not know that in America a presidential candidate could incite/suggest publicly violence on another candidate (even indirectly), hoping to see a nutter doing the job of getting an opponent down. This is insane !

9 ( +11 / -2 )

@Lizz

Even Susan Collins who doesn't support Trump said he was suggesting that "2nd Amendment advocates around the country might come together to pressure the Senate."

BS. It doesn't take an expert to understand what he meant, just a speaker of the English language. FFS, think for yourself. More complete quote:

"Hillary wants to abolish — essentially abolish — the Second Amendment. And if she gets to pick, if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do. But the Second Amendment people, maybe there is. I don’t know."

You'd have to be a moron or a desperate Trump defender in denial to not get the "joke."

@MarkG

No one's stopping you from making jokes like that. But a person in a position of authority or influence needs to be more responsible. You guys would be in an outrage if Clinton said something similar and you know it, so start holding Trump to the same standard.

9 ( +12 / -3 )

Self-serving politician? Clinton? Aren't most politicians self-serving? Especially Drumpf who scams other people into investing in his projects (vodka, airline, casinos, etc) and, if it makes money, takes it all and challenges the investors to sue him; if it loses money, he blames the other guy but he's not out any cash himself. That is his talent not running a business.

If Drumpf supporters think he will magically change and fight for the little guy (angry young white people), they are sorely mistaken. He will not change, he will make a fortune for himself and everyone else can take a hike to poverty town.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Note that Trump has also gone on record as warning his followers that the November election "will be rigged." No shred of evidence, but Trump poisons the well of civic trust. Into the cesspool he's made, he now "jokes" about what one former conservative candidate called "second amendment remedies."

Trump's actions are dangerous and un-American.

Does it really matter what Trump says, implies or fantasizes?

Only if you believe words have meanings and consequences.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

Poor Trump. He was trying to spread a lie about Clinton and tripped himself up along the way.

Better luck next time.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Why is it that Hillary can call the family of the Benghazi victims liars . . .

This is simply not true. She never said this. Yes, I've read the sensationalist headlines from Breitbart and other right-wing media sites, and nowhere in any of their articles do they have a direct quotation from her actually saying this. The closest that they can come is when Hillary said that she thought Patricia Smith was "wrong" about some of the things she said during her speech at the Republican convention. Well, saying someone is "wrong,' is not the same as saying that they are a "liar" now is it?

Therefore, I challenge you to back up your statement and show the actual quotation where Hillary calls Patricia Smith and other victims "liars."

8 ( +10 / -2 )

@Bass -- Ok, I just watched the clip. Again, there was no direct quotation from the footage that was posted that had Hillary calling the families or Patricia Smith "liars." Nowhere--none, zip, nada. What you did have was the commentator or creator of this piece twisting Hillary's words and claiming that Hillary was calling people liars when she never did. Do you ever actually read or watch your sources, or do you just read the headlines?

However, I don't want to get off the topic of this article, which is about another Trump gaffe, so please stop trying to redirect the focus of this thread from Trump to Hillary.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

Frankly, stereotyping as liberals do - is the trait of the UNEDUCATED

Saying "liberals stereotype" is also stereotyping.... just FYI

8 ( +9 / -1 )

"LOL Frankly, stereotyping as liberals do - is the trait of the UNEDUCATED"

You have a very low opinion of the uneducated. Trump loves the uneducated. He said so.

Who do you think are making whooping noises at Trump rallies when he says Elizabeth Warren?

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Sedition. Anyone else making these comments and they`d be back in a NSA facility in no time, probably being waterboarded to get some answers...

But not Trump. Talking about the republican powers trying to influence the elections.

7 ( +12 / -5 )

He obviously doesn't want to be president. He entered this race for a bit of a megalomaniac laugh, and when it looks like he actually might win, he's thinking, heck, I'd better say so much outrageous nonsense that they'll kick me to the kerb before voting day. And by god, if the american people are still stupid enough to elect me after all my verbal diarrhoea, well, to hell with it, I'll go down in history as, well, what? Lucifer? Words fail me...

7 ( +8 / -1 )

fear monger people into guns are the problem

HRC cannot take our guns.

What a joke because the Japanese government would if you had them (in Japan)

What a joke you lefties are.

It's so amazing the paranoid righties on this board who are scared stiff to be without their guns and think that gun-free zones are the most dangerous places to be. But then they choose on their own free will go live in one gun free country (Japan). What were you thinking coming to Japan and you cannot own a handgun?

7 ( +9 / -2 )

I thought it was going to be 3 months of non-stop trash. It looks like he's upping the ante.

A disgrace.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

It is not a joke. An LATimes article discussing the issue noted,

A spokeswoman for the U.S. Secret Service said the agency was aware of Trump’s remark, but declined to comment further.

One can be sure that the Service will discretely contact the Trump campaign to tell him to knock it off and warn him of the consequences if he does not. Inciting violence is just a step below committing violence - and gun supporters should be uniquely aware of this.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

Well promoting violence is hate speech, however veiled, or throwaway. He should be censured. That sort of nonsense undermines democracy.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Oh good grief, the establishment media in complete spazz-out mode, twisting Trump's words. He was obviously saying there's a strong political movement within the second amendment, and if people mobilize and vote, they can stop Hillary from having this impact on the Supreme Court. He was NOT inciting murder/violence. Sheesh.

Hey Leila26, this is why people think Trump supporters are "uneducated."

7 ( +9 / -2 )

Lost in all this is what Trump actually said. One can be careless with words in most professions but not in all - ironically, the ambiguity of the phrasing of the Second Amendment is what got us in this pickle in the first place. The original:

Hillary wants to abolish -- essentially abolish the Second Amendment. By the way, if she gets to pick, if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don't know. But I tell you what, that will be a horrible day, if Hillary gets to put her judges in, right now we're tied.

Clearly, he's discussing a scenario in which voters have chosen Clinton, and Clinton then executes her executive responsibilities to nominate judges (he probably meant Supreme Court justices given the context, but either will do), and suggests that, at that point, only "Second Amendment people" can affect an outcome. Now, you won't find "Second Amendment people" in a dictionary, just as you won't for the other 32, but his implication is quite clear: He 's calling for extralegal violent methods in the event of a Clinton victory so that Supreme Court nominees will not be done be her.

Anyway, he retreated to Fox and had this to say:

This is a political movement. This is a strong political movement, the Second Amendment. And there can be no other interpretation. Even reporters have told me. I mean, give me a break.

This is the weird part. Aside from the reality that, in fact, his interpretation of his own remarks do not match his actual statement (again, bad trait for a leader), there's again that idea of the "Second Amendment" as some kind of movement - as if all who own guns or support the rights of others to do so are some monolithic block. In other words, he's interpreting the Constitution to suit his own purposes. An "amendment" is not a political movement. One can imagine he's referring to those who push the envelope by swaggering around open-carrying just 'cause they can.

Well, good luck with that. America's about reached a breaking point with these yahoos, and his comments will turn off more than they will attract. True, the Supreme Court will be drastically altered under Clinton, and Heller likely overturned. Guns will remain, but local authorities will have greater ability to define what is a "well-regulated militia" - and that is good.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Looks like his Security Service detail will be doing double-duty: Guarding him and at the same time investigating him for threatening a presidential candidate.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Funny, the media is completely bias. The media is not and should always cover both candidates equally and fairly. If you want to jump on Trump about the things he says or does, fine. I don't have a problem with that, but we need to equally scrutinize Hillary and the media isn't doing that, which shows that they are not impartial.

Trump really has nobody to blame but himself for any unequal coverage he receives. True, Clinton has made a lot of gaffes, but it usually isn`t media bias that leads to these recieving little coverage, but Trump making an even bigger gaffe that soaks up all the media attention. "Clinton getting caught out on lies related to her email scandal? Hey, now would be a good time for me to pick a fight with the Khans. Or Paul Ryan. Or hint that Hillary should be assassinated. Whatever it takes to get the cameras back on me, even though it is clearly self defeating."

Trump isn`t an idiot at the mercy of unfair media bias, he is himself a media insider and knows exactly how to generate attention. He could easily avoid all the unwanted attention by toning down his rhetoric, but keeps on deliberately stoking it by pouring gas on the fire. That is his schtick.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

@Bill Murphy

Does it really matter what Trump says, implies or fantasizes?

Yeah, it does. Bill O'Reilly's sensational demonizing of an abortion doctor ("Tiller the Baby Killer" in his words) likely resulted in the doctor's murder. Trump speaks to the same audience of gun-toting crazies.

I despair.

Our choice is fairly simple this time around. Trump is a disaster. If you don't like Clinton, vote Libertarian. That'll get us closer to a system with more alternatives you talk about. Don't whine about the situation if your choice is to stick your head in the sand.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

who's next to be shot after Hillary Donald? Other people who oppose you? Sounds like Donald's recruiting his own militia do do his bidding.... what will be the uniform Donald - brownshirts like the Nazi's prior to the gestapo??

6 ( +8 / -2 )

@bass4funk Whoa, I know Trump doesn't have the greatest oratory skills........Well that is the understatement of the decade isn't it...It should be he has no oratory skills...bit like his followers all you have to do is watch a Trump Rally you can clearly see the kind of people that you are dealing with..Reminds me of the Movie Idiocracy the similarities are just amazing...

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Any attempt to dismiss this as a mere joke is willful ignorance. Trump made almost the exact same joke when he was stoking rage of his rallies against non-violent protesters. He "joked" about the good old days when you could let the mob beat up people they disagree with. Even if this was intended as a "joke", the fact that he thinks a demagogue exciting a radical crowd to violence against people simply for disagreeing with him is an acceptable topic for jokes is proof: He's categorically unfit for the office.

And yet, it would be a falsehood to say this sort of rhetoric started with Trump. Let's not forget how in 2010 Tea Party candidate Sharron Angle proposed "second amendment remedies" to voters to help her deal with her rivals. Sarah Palin dealt with politicians taking positions she disagreed with by marking them on a US map with crosshairs and tweeting, "Don't retreat, instead- RELOAD!" When a mentally unstable man acted on those words and shot one of the marked candidates, Gabby Giffords, in an attempted assassination, the spewers of violent rhetoric in the US gave not the slightest consideration to the consequences of their words.

Appeals to violence and self-proclaimed "righteous" revolution have been a staple of the white right wing identity for decades. Trump is merely the latest in a long line of political candidates shameless enough to be willing to try to exploit it.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

he is going to turn our corrupt Washington establishment on its head. LOL if you really think that your a fool. Trump wont get anything done without the senate, and the majority of them are already in big business pockets. If Trump thinks he can just steamroll his ideas through the government he'll be shocked. He will effectively be a lame duck for his entire term. But hey first he's got to become POTUS and the way he keeps shooting himself in the foot that seems more unlikely. Time to crank up that fear mongering hes so good at. His whole campaign is based on fear with very little actual policies that make sense.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Yes, wikileaks trying to influence the American elections. Obviously to our insane partisans this is a good thing, clearly their brains can't comprehend the agenda behind it. Or Trump, in the pocket of the Russian gangster Vladimir Putin.

Seasoned Republicans lining up against Trump this week and utterly dismal poll numbers don’t seem to be effecting the Denial levels as yet.

Meltdown is indeed the correct term.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Trump just has to keep talking to help elect Hillary.

This time, he has a dangerous message, but it's nothing completely unexpected.

Trump has lost his sensibility, if he ever had any, and reality for him is no longer plausible. Same thing with his supporters. They all are just a joke of ignorance and demagoguery, but a joker with guns is a scary thing.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

Not a credible threat. In fact, not a credible anything.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Pfffft! This is nothing compared to the firestorms Trump is going to ignite when he takes office next January, he is going to turn our corrupt Washington establishment on its head.

Deep in the bubble is this one. And even if Trump wins, not likely, he will make things worse. Yesterday he announced his economic policy which is same policy from the republicans for the last 40 years. Trickle down economics. Totally disproven but Trump promotes it anyway. He is no different from bush or romney or reagan, just more a of complete self-centred jerk.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

No, it's completely media bias to the max. Even the NYT in a nutshell came out and pretty much admitted that they would do anything to not see a Trump presidency happen, not in those exact words, but in a very clear roundabout way. That's not journalism, that's being a partisan.

All newspapers have their own editorial views and yeah, those are obviously biased because they are based on opinion. And yes, I am sure that the majority of mainstream American newspapers (and TV stations, etc) have taken an editorial position against Trump.

That is different from saying the volume of news coverage is biased though. In a normal election you can make an argument that editorial policy guides journalistic coverage - a tendency to over-cover negative stories of the candidate you are against and vice versa. But Trump makes that analysis largely irrelevant because he deliberately courts so much attention that it overwhelms any subtle (or not so subtle) biases that might guide the content of coverage in a normal election.

Even if all the media organizations were perfectly neutral (or evenly split in which candidate they supported) you`d still see the same overwhelming focus on Trump because he is putting all this inflammatory-but-eye-catching stuff out there all the time.

Hillary gets more of a pass because A) she is better at keeping her mouth shut, and B) when she does make a gaffe (or whatever) its usually way less interesting than the types of gaffes Trump makes. If she was out there hinting that people should gun down Trump I`m sure the media would be zooming in on that too. She knows enough not to say stuff like that though.

If Rubio or some standard Republican had won the nomination, media attention would undoubtedly be way more evenly split than it is with Trump (and then media bias would become way more relevant since editorial decisions on what to cover would have a bigger impact on the impression candidates create).

This is all by design of the candidates and largely determined by their own behavior, not by media bias.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Yes, yes serrano it's all a big conspiracy. I mind ray controlled by the Clinton team to make Trump say crazy stuff. Like death threat innuendos.

I like Elizabeth Warren's taking on Trump at his own idiot ground on Twitter :

@realDonaldTrump makes death threats because he's a pathetic coward who can’t handle the fact that he’s losing to a girl. 11:51 PM - 9 Aug 2016

Lol.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Oh good grief, the establishment media in complete spazz-out mode, twisting Trump's words. He thinks Obama was born in Kenya. Don't you?

He was NOT inciting murder/violence. Yes, he is with Benghazi and the people he claims to have been killed as a result of the email "leaks". Look a the Conservative poster here and they openly accuse Hillary of being a treasonous criminal who should be locked up for the rest of her life. Treason is worse than murder. This is Donald Trump's view.

there's a strong political movement within the second amendment, Yes, hopefully the general ban of semi autos and universal checks.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Trump was talking about the gun lobby when he said the second amendment people, and how they might be able to lobby the congress to stop justices from being confirmed. Are you in Japan? Is gun ownership that important to you? If yes to those questions then why did you come to a country where no guns are allowed except for hunting (and even those guns have to be strictly registered)? Were you really conflicted when you were about to leave the USA but could not being your guns?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

For every mistake that Clinton has made, Trump has made at least 20... For every lie that Clinton has told, Trump has told at least tenfold. And I haven't even started about the magnitude and impact of the mistakes and lies, Trump is so much worse no matter what way you look at it! Trump wouldn't be fit to work as a elevator operator, let alone President.

Not sure what is so hard to understand about this for some people and why they keep changing the topic from Trump to Clinton..?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

So that was a Trump joke......hmm not very funny, but as he is a republican, we have to realize he will never get arrested for anything. The rape of the 13 year old girl--still tied up in the court. Defrauding businesses and creditors. No jail time. Fraud, no jail time. Jail time is only for democrats it seems. Trust me, if he loses, chaos will result and these yahoos will run crazy. A thousand "Wacos" will be the result, but maybe it is time to clean up these crazies.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Some people said Trump was joking but Secret Services wants to make sure idiots will not shoot Hillary.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Manipulating the ruck of benighted, a population found aplenty in the US, is an area Trump has long excelled in. Trump U, casinos and his shady but effective uses of bait and switch are quick examples in point. Trump knows which memes to use to influence his followers and knows the easiest path to a gun hobby extremists’s spleen is any mention of the 2nd Amendment.

Expect his handlers (including the folks who wrote the speech he just read) to quickly come up with ‘he didn’t mean that’, ‘he was taken out of context’, ‘he was being sarcastic’, 'he was joking' or one of the other covers for his latest blunder. However, his comments are not seen as ‘blunders’ by his true believers. After all, their Messiah has promised he’ll make America hate again. All they want is to be able to carry assault weapons wherever they go and have NO gun free areas.

One of the most important jobs of any leader is being an effective communicator. Trump’s not a leader: he’s a demagogue. He knows how to wind up his already angry white nationalist followers.

4 ( +8 / -4 )

The only people left are the truly lunatic right wing who can support this utter disgrace of a human being. Clinton isn't great but at least USA will survive. Nothing will survive a Trump presidency. This is pretty much it. If he can go lower there's always tomorrow. Three more months!

4 ( +6 / -2 )

FizzBit,

We lefties don't like Obama and Clinton's hawkishness, and we freely admit their flaws. But let's be real, hawkishness is traditionally a trait of the right. They only seem to be against it when they're not the ones starting the wars.

And is Trump against wars? On the one hand he's against protecting our allies in NATO, but on the other he advocates killing the families of terrorists. It's hard to tell with him...

Anyway, your avoiding the topic at hand again. Trump's claiming Clinton will abolish the second amendment. No demand for evidence?

4 ( +7 / -3 )

@bass4funk No, it's completely media bias to the max..Trump is his own worst enemy every time he talks....ignorance is a powerful thing.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

I never thought those things. Are you defending Clinton/Obama now?

Obama and Hillary to start wars Did they start the second Iraq war? Or are they attempting to clean up the mess made under GWB's watch? What major war did Obama/Clinton start?

4 ( +6 / -2 )

It's funny how D.T. is talking in indirect terms about assassinating Hillary (worst case scenario), or a very very bad, distasteful joke (best case scenario) that many republicans would no doubt not get at all and as a result of course may cause a dangerous situation. As such, a candidate should, must, has to be aware of this and refrain at all times from such comments.

Ironically, isn't it however, that it's his own GOP he is assassinating with these types of comments. His ratings continue to drop, driving more and more people away and his chances of winning now about as high as getting struck by lightning. And at the end of the day, come November, he will have made an absolute mockery of himself, his family and everyone else close to him (as to so far he hadn't already).

4 ( +6 / -2 )

That's not their job. They wouldn't and can't tell a presidential candidate what to say and how to say it. They would be overstepping their boundaries.

If someone is making a threat to a presidential candidate though surely it would be negligent of the Secret Service not to do something though, even if that person was a presidential candidate themself?

I`m not sure that the comment in question constituted a direct "threat", but at the very least a situation in which a megalomaniac has just told his millions of angry, mostly uneducated and heavily armed followers that shooting Clinton is the only way of getting what they want..... is something the Secret Service ought to be taking very seriously.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Conservatives are turning into aliens.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Leila26 is quite right. Support for Trump does not prove that a person is 'uneducated', 'poor' or 'trailer trash'.

Obviously some Trump supporters did go to school, do have money and do live in nice houses. And they're not too keen on letting anyone not already in their group have a fair slice of the pie.

The correct terminology is 'ignorant', 'cheap' and 'lemming-like'.

Don't take this as a sign of support for Hillary Clinton. It isn't.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

SuperLib AUG. 10, 2016 - 02:40PM JST Conservatives are turning into aliens.

Could be a new use for Area 51. Especially after Trump's historic defeat.

Hey Independent Republicans.....he's toast. The ugly thing of beauty continues it's fiery, screaming course to extinction.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

@Leila26 Education is not equal to intelligence. Some of the most unintelligent people are extremely well educated.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Here in "gun free Japan" there was one of the worst mass killings in recent memory So gun laws in Japan should be open just like in the USA? If I recall this guy attacked a bunch of handicapped people, A guy with a knife in a building full of handicapped people. What is the solution? Legalize carrying guns in Japan? Japanese people in wheelchairs should be able to carry?

Do you feel scared someone could attack you on the street and you would be vulnerable with no gun? It does happen once in a while.

Mass killings USA vs. Japan- USA is much much higher- why is that?

Please explain the practical use of semi automatic weapons other than mass murder.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

What a pitiful excuse for a man. Pathetic. 1/20/17 - "Madame President" !

4 ( +5 / -1 )

@Bass -- You accused Hillary of calling people "liars." I asked you to support that point with the actual quotation. You failed to do so. Then, you come in here and try to justify it without one shred of actual evidence. Worse, you try to then spin it by going into another one of your tu quoque rants. Sorry, but I think the majority of the readers here see what you did as another one of your partisan red herrings. Don't make claims unless you can back them up with actual facts from credible sources, especially when you get called out on them.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

bass4funk: "Funny, you guys want to hold Trump on EVERY word he says, but Hillary, just give her a pass, came didn't mean it, whatever..."

Yes, every word he says -- literally quoted and recorded in print, on television, and everything else including his own tweets. And given that Hillary did not say the things Trump claims she did, as was clearly pointed out but which you said you simply refuse to believe, why would you not give her a pass on Trump's blatant lies? especially given how much you say you abhor Clinton as a liar? You sure do seem to love the double standards.

" I'm not going to bother, I'll just put something and if you guys believe it or not, it won't really matter. I'm not going to waste my time or any libs that refuse to listen to to facts and take a one-sided approach to the candidates."

Yeah, that's right -- the literal quotations of Trump are just "liberal media" and "bias", but the lies he spews about Clinton are the word of god, and you're not going to waste your time defending them.... for fifteen more posts. Just keep fingers in ears and eyes closed, my friend, for the rest of your life, and it might all be okay.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

No, I did, but you chose to dismiss it.

No, you did not. Nowhere in the link that you provided did it show Hillary calling anyone a liar. It's simply not there, so no, you did not support your original claim of " Why is it that Hillary can call the family of the Benghazi victims liars . . ." By continually clinging to this false accusation, you are simply being stubborn about this.

As for the rest of your post, you're trying your usual tactic of pulling everyone off the main topic of this thread. It's not about Hillary. It's about Trump's comments on the Second Amendment. Why can't you comment on the words that came out of his mouth instead of the ones you think Hillary said (but she never did)?

4 ( +5 / -1 )

But there is a movement to preserve the 2nd Amendment. You would agree right? How far should 2A go? Semi autos are going too far since the are only effective as killing machines. Now if you insist that semi autos should be legal then you also have to consider stuff like rocket launchers. And if you love 2A so much what are you doing in Japan?

Trump, a politician for about 14 months How about Bill Gates? He has never been a politician and unlike Trump Bill Gates is truly successful (Billionaire with lots and lots of Bs). I mean if you think Trump (who is a business loser and lack of political experience) will do well then you have to believe that Bill Gates could do better easily. I can't believe that Trump fans would think that Trump would be better than Bill Gates.

with open borders If Trump builds his wall that costs billions it means more sales for ladders and ropes. Trump's quote:

"There's no ladder going over that," Trump says about a 50-foot high wall. "If they ever get up there they're in trouble, 'cause there's no way to get down," Trump insists, then concedes, "Maybe a rope."

Oh, Jeez, time to buy stock on rope and ladder companies.

I personally accuse her of lying Same with Obama since you think he was born in Kenya, right?

I think the country is making a big mistake electing a liar What did she like about?

Hey - didn't Trump just give a major speech on his economic plan which was supposed to turn his campaign around? You know, make him look all presidential and stuff? Gee, that was only two days ago. Sure, it was a cotton-candy package filled with fluff, but most talented communicators would have turned it into hard cash.

Does anyone here remember that he gave that speech or what its contents were?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

That's a good thing Toshiko.

Most of the comments about Obama are borderline treasonous. Calling for Russia to hack Clinton or gun owning Americans to influence the election by murdering Clinton need investigating as they are disgraceful. Like Donald j Trump is graceful. Like his followers. Get all their names on a list - I'm pretty sure they already are if Mr Snowdon is right.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Trump the best man for the job thats what he keeps telling himself, but there is a woman that could prove him wrong and he that thought drives him insane!

4 ( +4 / -0 )

"No, it's completely media bias to the max. Even the NYT in a nutshell came out and pretty much admitted that they would do anything to not see a Trump presidency happen, not in those exact words, but in a very clear roundabout way. That's not journalism, that's being a partisan."

The NYT was in a nutshell and and wrote in a very clear roundabout way? Please post a link to this article. I'm intrigued.

Let's be honest here. The US has a problem with firearms and there have been incidents of high profile politicians being shot and in some cases killed by these filthy things. What Trump said was at worst evil and at best ridiculously incompetent and reckless. Take your pick. I'm sure you'll pick the latter but either way a man like this isn't the right man to lead the world's most powerful country.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

What Trump said was at worst evil and at best ridiculously incompetent and reckless. 2A nuts are just like other nut groups. About .00001% are extremists and will listen to a certain ideology and act on it. They might plan something and say Trump told me to do this. Semi auto have to go. You can't fight nutty (that much) so the most dangerous guns need to go.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

@Leila26 Education and Intelligence are 2 different things..You Can Be Highly Educated Without Being Highly Intelligent...This is obviously in your case..Hold a degree in Sociology and still a Trump supporter..there you go...

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Hee-hee-hee. . . the Japanese government obviously doesn't have a problem with all those guns on US bases. By non-civilians. And it's technically not Japan anyway. Also, J-cops and soldiers have weaponry. And you are laughing at yourself because you are a gun nut but you choose to live in a place where you cannot have one (at the same time tolerate the institution to have them). Who is the joke on again? Because I feel fine.

But when Trump speaks, the media twists it and takes it out of context. He did call Mexicans rapists and murderers. Was that twisted?

Oh and nice pics of the Orlando killer's Dad sitting in the VIP section at the Hillary rally He supports her for more gun control. What is the problem?

as they sell their lies/wars Hillary never started a war since she was not presdent. And even if she did start the second Iraq war she would have better managed it.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

@FizzBit

Hillary's already a pro. And not only terrorists, but innocent women and children too. Maybe you need to go back and watch some footage of Hillary and G.W. Bush standing next to each other as they sell their lies/wars, and don't forget how ALL the MSM was on board selling the wars too. Yes...hypocrites.

The families of terrorists might include some innocent women and children… Yeah, we all agree the Iraq War was a disaster, but there's no evidence that Trump was against the war before it started either. In fact, he hesitantly supported in an interview with Howard Stern. It was only after the war started that he fully came out against the war like everyone else (most likely because the war interfered with his financial interests at the time).

http://www.factcheck.org/2016/02/donald-trump-and-the-iraq-war/

A lot of people were fooled by Bush and Cheney, but Trump gets a pass because he was just a businessman? Well, he's running for President now and indicating that he has no problem with going into foreign countries and taking innocent lives. Why do you still give him a pass? Why do you always deflect the issue when a negative story comes out against Trump? Even without the filter of the MSM, it's clear that he's a terrible person. Nothing is being twisted out of context here. Do you think the assassination of political rivals will somehow lead to less corruption?

Gary Johnson seems like a better fit for you, yet you still defend Trump. Why?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Serrano: "The mainstream media can take a flying leap and we will give you poll results on whether or not it was from a high enough height."

Again, I find it amusing that you can DIRECTLY quote Trump, and that's all, and you guys KNOW he has put his foot in his mouth again and panic and blame the media for... quoting him directly! It's hilarious!

"Trump will win this election if Hillary doesn't rig the machines."

Excuse me but so far it's only the GOP that is rigging things, and you know it. They've already been called out for closing down DMVs in poorer areas with mostly black and/or Latino populations so that they have no place to vote, and police have been driving around demanding blacks present proof of residence for voting, something they do not do for white people. Add to this the other ways they are keeping people unlikely to vote for Trump from voting and you have ZERO grounds for suggesting the Democrats would rig things without being more than a hypocrite.

But thank you for your prediction of a Trump win, Serrano. We all know you were bang on in 2008 and 2012 with similar predictions.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

refuse to listen to to facts Is Obmama being born in Kenya a fact?

hold Trump to a high standard I wouldn't hold a single Yen to Donald Trump with his very very low standard of how he provides for his investors. Hillary has higher standards as shown in the polls.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

So we've gone from Trump seemingly inciting a revolt (the bearded guy's reaction shows that the media didn't twist anything) to yet another row about Hilary Clinton...

The Pulse shooter's dad He wants more gun control and that's why he was there. So what's the scandal with him being there? Do you think he wants Trump (who wants less gun control laws and may even push for the legalization of guns more deadly than semi autos) after what his son did? If semi autos had been banned this would not have happened (that badly, at least). He's making a good point that semi autos have to do and Hillary agrees.

Listen, I think Trump does have a problem with no chance of winning the presidency and it's the Republican voters' fault for choosing this clown to be the nonimee?

the media and how they pile on him, but give Hillary a constant pass, that's the thing that sticks in my throat! But the media are the ones that say Clinton commited no crime (and she really didn't)- it's the non media Clinton haters who say she's a criminal.

Looks like the Trump supporters are really going after Clinton on the basis of her supposed fragile health. I'd guess many of them voted for a 72-year-old cancer survivor in 2008. Had anything happened to this decent man in office, I assume they'd have had no problem with the preposterous Sarah Palin as the leader of the world's most powerful nation.

Palin? Trump? What the hell are they going to come up with next?

Wow! John McCain, the reasonably sane war hero, was the GOP candidate just 8 years ago. Wow! Trump gave McCain a bitchy mouthful just a few months ago. So many rancid air biscuits from Trump since then.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

He was NOT inciting murder/violence. Some Trump nut (like a Bundy or white supremacist) could interpret it as different and act on it with violence. Again, almost 100% won't but a very very small fraction could. And Bundies (who are Trump supporters) have a record of pointing guns at government officials.

I would have preferred a President Sanders Free education is not realistic. Even national universities in Japan are almost as expensive as private ones these days when they used to be almost free decades ago.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Trump was talking about the gun lobby when he said the second amendment people, and how they might be able to lobby the congress to stop justices from being confirmed.

Really? Can you continuously fool yourself this much, Fizzbit?

Then please explain why Trump ended his remarks on "second amendment people" with "That will be a horrible day?"

Anyone reasonable, English-speaking adult would have little doubt that the "horrible-ness" of a day's action by armed people would not be because they are "lobbying Congress."

This firestorm is rapidly becoming a conflagration, thanks to Trump and his apologists. Normal Republicans are being forced by their constituencies to disavow Trump's remarks -- which crossed a line that never should be crossed in our politics. Hillary Clinton is a deeply flawed and beat-able candidate -- but the GOP has made a blunder in Trump of epic and historical proportions.

I believe it's only a matter of a few weeks now before Trump is out of this race.

Are there enough tyranny fearing gun nuts to elect Trump?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

The mainstream media can take a flying leap You think that Clinton should go to prison for something they looked into and found nothing illegal on her part. But you then defend Obama saying he was not born in Kenya and he did not fake his American passport (on top of faking his college degree)? It's not consistent. Many many conservatives believe that Obama was born in Kenya and should do 10 years for faking official Department of State forms by covering up his true birthplace.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

No, just look at her untrustworthy poll numbers, there (sic) your answer.

So, that's your proof of a quotation for something that you think she said but actually didn't. Once again, you've provided no actual evidence of a charge that you made, and you have resorted to your usual tactics since you've put yourself into a corner that you cannot get out of. Therefore, either show her saying the actual quotation or stop trying to defend yourself here by going off on a tangent.

Bass, trying to have a debate with you is a lot like trying to argue with John Cleese's character, "Mr. Barnard," from the classic Monty Python sketch, "The Argument Clinic" (Oh, and let me cut you off there by predicting your usual tu quoque retort, "No, that would be the libs . . . " or some other similar comment).

Tell you what: I'll let you have the last word about this since whatever you post will simply verify everything that I have said about this so far. Indulge yourself.

Good night.

Unlike other people, Trump wants to ensure MSM report. Then he create next speech to satisfy his supporters. We have a Republican Senate candidate to replace retiring Harry Reid. We support This GOP candidate but when asked if we support Trump, we all answer, No, I am not uneducated.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

More importantly Hillary had the terrorist dad behind her at her rally and he endorsed her publicly. When Duke only endorsed from the press Trump was labeled a white supremacist.

...because everyone knows that if someone decides to go join ISIL, then their parents think the same way he/she does, right? As for Duke and Trump, I think the world agrees that Trump and his "solutions" are responsible for the lion's share of the racist label he's acquired while Duke's support is only a very small component of that.

It's interesting how twisted the Republicans trying to prop-up Trump can get.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

So you're saying Hillary will start no wars, will stop supporting slave labor countries, and rebuild the US right?

I am saying that the United States of America will be in FAR, FAR better hands under a President Clinton than under Trump, as flawed as Clinton is.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

I think Trump says what he does not know. Once he insulted prolife group as baby killer organization. Last month, he said Obama's American mother want to have American baby so she went toKeya and Obama was born in Kenya. So Obama is not American.. Everyday we hear Trump related news, Today, onto of his farms crimped up outside of Trump tower and arrested. The guy only wanted to talk with Trummp.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

American media is a joke.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Everyday Trump says something stupid. Everyday the Clinton lead in the polls increases. Everyday more republicans walk away from the Trump disaster. In the meantime this horrible man makes the US worse off and weaker, for example his being a Putin stooge. No doubt more horrible things will happen until the landslide loss in November, the Senate flipping to blue and the House being even red-blue. It is a horrible price to pay for the country to have a flawed ego-maniac as the nominee of the dying republican party, but in the end the country will be better off with the republican party destroyed. For that we can thank Trump and his incredibly naive voters.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

"Clinton has stated several times that she and the Democrats want to eliminate the second amendment"

Give us a quote from Clinton stating she wants to eliminate the second amendment. There are several examples according to you so it should be easy.

If even one existed, Trump would be winding up his whooping boneheads non-stop by repeating it.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

I think Trump will lose this time but his daughter may win GOP nomination next time. She is an excellent business woman and did excellent speech.

She has been a supporter of women in the workplace which is to be lauded, but it has been noted that a company that makes some of her clothing line refuses to offer maternity leave. It's unclear whether she was aware of that prior to the newspaper article so let's see how she handles that company now.

Clinton has stated several times that she and the Democrats want to eliminate the second amendment, they have also opposed the 1st and 4th amendments of the US Constitution. In fact all of the large group shootings have been done by Democrats or supporters of Democrats. They seem to forget also that the KKK and other racist groups were or are associated with the Democrats. The Republicans in fact have supported racial equality from at least the 19th century. Ms. Clinton has in fact lied to the congress and to the people of the USA, she also stole close to 1/4 million dollars valued items from the White House when her husbands term as president ended and democrats who are in fact socialists/Marxists damaged many computers and other items.

(SMH) And here we have an example of someone who has partaken of the Kool-aid served-up by the conservative radio talking heads. These radio listeners are the same people who chant that you can't trust the liberal media yet drink in all these comments from media people whose only purpose is to "move the needle" - generate calls into the show. Facts are a distant last when it comes to these programs. Facts don't generate calls, so facts are the first casualty on such shows.

All this Trump trash talk over WORDS and praise for Hillary with her proven ACTIONS of honesty, corruption and indesretions.

Isn't the issue opposed due to political party and not the man?

0 ( +4 / -4 )

his conversational, free wheeling style at rallies is what really gets the crowds going.

Yes, Trump provides red meat to the lynch mob. If the mob seems quiet and not giving him the attention he craves, he'll rile them up some more. Only the very lowest class of American would witness an adult man in a political forum make fun of a disabled person and say: "He's who I support!"

We can hope and pray that none of his bottom-scraping, unintelligent, impressionable followers tries to act on Trump's foolish words.

And then there's the evangelicals who told the USA that "Character Counts" back during the Bill Clinton days. Trump, who brags in The Art of the Deal about bedding numerous married women, who called his personal Vietnam his ability to avoid STD's. As one minister put it: Anyone of us who supports this man also owes Bill Clinton an apology.

Words do have meanings, and character does count. It is not love of America, but sheer hatred of the Democratic candidate (again) that fuels the Trumpsters.

Trump's comment has a level of ambiguity but Clinton's actions in Syria and Libya has caused death!

Really? Name the actions specifically by Hillary Clinton in Syria and Libya that caused death. You can't because they don't exist. Republicans spent over $7 Million taxpayer dollars over the course of two years tilting at the "Clinton killed those four people" windmills and finished with zip-point-zilch to show for it. But YOU have more information than they could get, huh? (rolls eyes)

Obama has a drone assassination program that has killed over a hundred people including Anericans. It is not subject to any scrutiny whatsoever!

Actually it IS subject to scrutiny. That's why the Administration recently published the process they use - INCLUDING who is selected and when. It was released due to a lawsuit by the American Civil Liberties Union.

Trump is making it difficult to vote for him and keep that crook out of office. What to do, what to do...

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

More and more it appears Trump is trying to lose. He is certainly not fit to be President.

I do not believe for a moment that he meant that someone should take out Ms. Clinton. Also his words are not a "threat". What he did say, however, is monumentally stupid.

If Clinton gets through the next few months unscathed she will be the next President.

I find this unfortunate as I believe she is just another politician; self serving and in the hands of banks and Wall Street. She did release her tax returns and it is amazing what her and Bill made in speaking engagements in 2014.

Regardless, what Trump said is stupid - he is done

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

This election choice reminds me of a line from a sex pistols song: "...even though he's horrible and she ain't what you'd call a lady..."

Yes, Trump provides red meat to the lynch mob.

It could be a story about Mike Pence or Paul Ryan -- I'm just saying there is a noticeable uptick in enthusiasm the second Trump steps away from a TelePrompter and launches into a more folksy, digressive style. Which carries risks when every statement is not qualified or read off in policy language, but he obviously does need to keep these voters motivated to vote.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

American media is a joke.

The people who constantly buy what the media sell them are the joke. Just like the media buzzed about how successful the DNC was. BUT NO mention, whatsoever, of the chaos which took place just outside of their venue in Philadelphia.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

@wc... Again... If you take in information from more than one news source and let media do your thinking for you... You know this, so it must have been reported somewhere. I know of none that hid the protests. The lemming liberal mind can't comprehend that it's being led, which is the DNC (dunce) ace. The reason liberal media hides disruption at Hillary's rally is because that media stream knows well that apathy of any reality and aberration of free thing abounds in those circles.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Vote Trump or more middle east death and migration.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Trump's comment has a level of ambiguity but Clinton's actions in Syria and Libya has caused death! Obama has a drone assassination program that has killed over a hundred people including Anericans. It is not subject to any scrutiny whatsoever! Funny how Trump's words not actions are the focus whereas funding Isil, regime change and clandestine killing are not?

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

What a joke you lefties are. She Loves selling weapons to Saudi Arabia, which is currently in a war with their neighbor Yemen. The Sauds definitely have a technological advantage, plus Obama's drones are everywhere, and they still can't win. Of course you don't care so much because it's not on CNNMSNBCFOX. Hillary and Obama are War Pigs, and despite you lefties trying to deflect this BIG issue with attacks on Trump, maybe trying to make yourselves feel better about supporting a War Pig, the truth will come out and I hope when that day comes and your brain wakes up, you're wearing a good pair of diapers.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

The media needs to stop trying to manufacture the news and report exactly what the man says. Then it can be left up to the people/voters to use their own brain and logic to decide any meaning to his words. I dont need the media telling me "oh Hillary meant to say we AREN'T raising taxes even you heard her say ARE" or "Trump said this but really means that".

Report the facts and let the people process what they heard and draw their own conclusions to what they hear. This is why "beard guy" had the reaction he did. Not because Trump said anything bad but because he is smart enough to know that the media was going to manufacture what he said into the next "scandal". The latest headline says "Trump floats assassination theory", Uh no, that is not even close to the truth,

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Does it really matter what Trump says, implies or fantasizes?

As Simon and Garfunkel once sang: "Anyway you look at it, you lose." Trump and Clinton. The structure of the USA doesn't allow alternatives, e.g. a parliamentary system which might allow a greater voice to dissenting minorities.

The USA no longer provides a neutral forum where issues can be calmly and rationally discussed. (Was there ever a Golden Age?) Propaganda (always at least half true - see Goebels on this point) reigns especially on the Internet. The sound of axes being ground comes from every direction and is becoming increasingly loud.

I despair.

-3 ( +11 / -14 )

He was just stating the obvious. That 2nd Amendment people would not obey the law and would lobby Congress to change it.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

This time in 2008 Hillary Clinton invokes the assassination of Robert Kennedy as justification to remain in the presidential race. "My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. I don't understand it." It caused an uproar and public speculation re: her mental state even in the liberal press.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Heh, no worries for Clinton when the next batch of WikiLeaks mails comes out, they're also working on hacking Trump's tax returns - probably they'll find he made a ton of money and paid a ton of money in taxes. Wait a minute... she might be in trouble after all, lol

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Yep, just words and speculations no facts at all. On the democratic side of the issues we have actions and words. Hillary even endorsed Debbie Wasserman Schultz! Even after we see the sexist, racist and defaming emails to insure Bernie was not the nominee.

One fact not reported is anti Trumpers at rally's are violent at times. Anti Hillay supporters are peaceful and law abiding.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

You pretty much summed it all up.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Everyday Trump says something stupid. Everyday the Clinton lead in the polls increases.

When you have the majority of the liberal media following and supporting you and giving you a pass what would you expect?

Everyday more republicans walk away from the Trump disaster.

Because he's a threat to the cozy, comfortable and entrenched establishment politicians, after almost 100 years, why would these guys want an outsider to come in an change anything, that goes for either side.

In the meantime this horrible man makes the US worse off and weaker, for example his being a Putin stooge.

Actually, Obama has already done that and voting for Hillary will just bring it lower and lower.

Provided the landslide is for Trump, then what? What will Dems and libs and Republicans do if that happens? I think the Dems are making ONCE again a childish mistake in underestimating the people. So many times the Dems plans backfired and blew up in their face like an exploding cigar. Change needs to come to both parties, corrupt to the core and only Trump can take a wrecking ball and bring it rightfully down.

transparentblue:

" MarkG, So joking about murder is acceptable to you, if it is your candidate? "

It was Hillary Clinton who joked about murder. A murder that caused by her illegal bombing of a country. Go to youtube and look for "We came, we saw, he died", followed by cackling.

Trumps remark that the unhinged media are playing up has nothing to do with murder Also keep in mind that there already was one assassination attemtp on Trump. Probably followed by more if this hysterical media campaign goes on.

World upside down?

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

I'm impressed with the gullibility and ignorance on parade in these comments. Trump said no such thing. Listen to the speech FOR YOURSELF! Obviously your source of critical information is gossip.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Trump only has an angry, insane, albeit vocal minority.

Likewise HRC has the angry BLM. The insane illegals who think just because they made to America, they can stay. The masses who are brainwashed by mainstream media & the masses of recipients who enjoy "free stuff." And the refugees who will be entering an infidel USA. Lovely, just lovely.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Media doesn't care what Hillary is or has done. If they found out she was a reptilian, they would talk about Trump eating with a fork, Hannity excepted.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Are people seriously quoting a partisan Fox News clown like Sean Hannity? I'm sure you've seen this before, but it's always worth a second read:

From a clown, if liberals could get a 1/3 of the viewers he has, conservative, liberals (clear thinking, not emotion driven) libertarians they would be jumping with joy. Hannity is a partisan conservative, he doesn't hide, never did and is proud of it, what's wrong with that. I like Rachel Maddow, don't agree with her politics, but she's an honest positive far left liberal and that's ok? Shouldn't be a problem. I mean, Hillary believes in lying that's what she has done for her entire political career, that's who she is. Live and let live.

I already did. If you don't believe it, it's ok, I'm not angry, believe me! Hillary is the one with the untrustworthy poll numbers, not me. That's more than enough proof.

trying to have a debate with you is a lot like trying to argue with John Cleese's character, "Mr. Barnard," from the classic Monty Python sketch, "The Argument Clinic" (Oh, and let me cut you off there by predicting your usual tu quoque retort, "No, that would be the libs . . . " or some other similar comment).

I feel the exact same about the same when talking to many liberals.

Tell you what: I'll let you have the last word about this since whatever you post will simply verify everything that I have said about this so far. Indulge yourself.

I would vehemently disagree. It's quite simple, if you are a Hillary supporter, you're going to believe her no matter what, if you are a far left progressive, you will believe her no matter what. So the facts are there, her numbers reflect that and if people want to believe something else, who can argue that. Some people think that Elvis is still alive, please their hearts...

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Yes, Trump provides red meat to the lynch mob. If the mob seems quiet and not giving him the attention he craves, he'll rile them up some more. Only the very lowest class of American would witness an adult man in a political forum make fun of a disabled person and say: "He's who I support!"

Sure, that was totally wrong for Trump to do, I'm with you on that, but think about this, if you're willing to forgive Hillary for putting our national security at the highest risk with an open server, her losing 30,000 emails and constantly and habitually and chronologically lying, then you should forgive Trump for mocking a disabled person.

We can hope and pray that none of his bottom-scraping, unintelligent, impressionable followers tries to act on Trump's foolish words.

So that's what liberals are calling them now? The desperation sets it!

Come on, the progressive über-left doesn't like Hillary one bit and yet, they support her for the presidency. Bill Clinton doesn't need an apology, he was a sitting president that used his powers to sexually harass a young intern, who, by the way, still cannot find a decent job because Hillary destroyed this woman.

Words do have meanings, and character does count. It is not love of America, but sheer hatred of the Democratic candidate (again) that fuels the Trumpsters.

And the opposite applies as well.

I am saying that the United States of America will be in FAR, FAR better hands under a President Clinton than under Trump, as flawed as Clinton is.

That's Just a personal opinion, many feel that Hillary would be a corruption security nightmare. Trump has the resume as a businessman and would be better for the overall economy Abe the public think so as well.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Give us a quote from Clinton stating she wants to eliminate the second amendment. There are several examples according to you so it should be easy.

If even one existed, Trump would be winding up his whooping boneheads non-stop by repeating it.

Of course she wants to do that. Did she say that verbatim, No, she did not, but the Dems want and have been waiting for a very, very long time to bypass the second amendment and to find a way limit gun sales of high powered weapons and finding a loophole where one thing leads to another, banning certain assault weapons would be the first step and then the magazines they carry and then trying to punish the retailers or the sellers with huge fines to the point where they wouldn't want to take the chance for fear of being sued, that's how you get around it and everyone knows it, maybe Europeans don't understand this, but literally EVERY gun owner knows what the ramifications are regardless of what the left tries to make people believe. Hillary also said, she never lied about her emails, Benghazi about her being shot at in Bosnia. Uhhh...at this point, I think it's safe to say, we know exactly Hillary is full of it. There is a reason why so many people don't trust her and with good reason.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

"his implication is quite clear: He 's calling for extralegal violent methods in the event of a Clinton victory"

He is not. Again, he was obviously saying there's a strong political movement within the second amendment, and if people mobilize and vote, they can stop Hillary from having this impact on the Supreme Court. He was NOT inciting murder/violence.

Trump: "This is a political movement. This is a strong political movement, the Second Amendment. And there can be no other interpretation. Even reporters have told me. I mean, give me a break."

OK, this is where Trump is technically wrong, there is another interpretation of what he said - the liberal/pro-Hillary Wall Street Clinton interpretation, lol.

I would have preferred a President Sanders, but Hillary stole the nomination from him, and he caved to Hillary, so get ready for President Trump.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

@Serrano

He was obviously saying there's a strong political movement within the second amendment, and if people mobilize and vote, they can stop Hillary from having this impact on the Supreme Court.

Precisely, and you display a wisdom beyond your years. It's like Sean Hannity says: "Obviously you're saying there's a strong political movement within the second amendment, and if people mobilize and vote, they can stop Hillary from having this impact on the Supreme Court."

America needs Law & Order. Enforcement of immigrants laws. Reject islamic refugees. Putting America & Americans first. NOT build bridges. By buildings bridges, others will take advantage of our stupid politicians.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

(Oh, and let me cut you off there by predicting your usual tu quoque retort, "No, that would be the libs . . . " or some other similar comment).

Because he's so dogg-gone right 99% of the time. You just don't want to hear it, accept it and wear the shoe. Let's face it, the libs in these here threads are so 1-sided. Example. Pulse shooters's dad @HRC rally. No backlash. Baby cries at Trump rally. . . the mainstream media saying -"Trump kicked out crying baby." Having a field day.

No different than 8 yrs ago. Obama referring to Sarah Palin as a "pig" who wears lipstick. Why didn't anyone (at that time) say those comments are unbecoming of a presidential candidate. . . Yet if Trump says a similar comment, the media slams those comments. What a bunch of babies.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

Fadamor:

" And here we have an example of someone who has partaken of the Kool-aid served-up by the conservative radio talking heads. These radio listeners are the same people who chant that you can't trust the liberal media "

Err no. Clintons e-mail show that you can not trust the liberal media. Did you bother to have a look at Wikileaks? "Bias" does not cover what was going. "Conspiracy" is too weak a term. De fact, the DNC was (and is) dictating the liberal media the talking points of the week.

It is something that some of have long been saying is obvious, but now the proof is there --- right there in Hillarys e-mails from her unsecured server in her bathroom,.

No "radio talking heads" needed.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

"the guy even a fellow Republican calls "the dumbest person on Fox"!

Oh, so one Republican ( and what the heck do Republicans know, anyway, lol ) says Hannity is the dumbest person on Fox ( what do Fox people know anyway, lol ), why, it must be true, lol

"Trump the best man for the job thats what he keeps telling himself, but there is a woman that could prove him wrong and he that thought drives him insane!"

True, Ivanka Trump could prove to be a better president than Donald, we'll see after she takes over after one or two terms of Donald.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

@Bill Murphy, Well said.

-7 ( +6 / -13 )

Well, that's what the 2nd Amendment is essentially for, isn't it?

Malo periculosam, libertatem quam quietam servitutem

and

I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical.

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

@Mr. Bum

Why do you still give him a pass? Why do you always deflect the issue when a negative story comes out against Trump?

I'm not giving him a pass, and I don't think I'm deflecting. There's a yuuuge difference between what Trump says in protecting your nation, possibly sending in ground troops to fight ISIS, etc; to the establishments OBVIOUS hegemonic desires through warmongering. Clinton, Bush, Obama, are warmongers and so to will Hillary be if she wins. I'm getting tired of this back and forth (not you) so from now on, I will try to stick to policy and stop the name calling. BTW, I don't consider calling Hillary a warmonger is name calling. I don't know what you read but it's very obvious that the MIC, CIA, Pentagon, NSA and the CFR, etc are all behind Hillary.

Do you think the assassination of political rivals will somehow lead to less corruption?

You see, that's I'm talking about. Maybe you're just playing a game here and enjoying yourself but please don't put BS like that in your posts to me.

it's clear that he's a terrible person.

Still better than Hillary.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

@bass wow you never cease to amaze me...just like listening to a broken record...

HRC has been in politics a very long time. There's ur broken record. Trump, a politician for about 14 months. Which candidate will bring chage? Yes folks, not the bag of lies with open borders, but the one who brings much needed Law & Order. America first, no exceptions!

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

K. Fair enough smith. What about the Taliban supporter (The Pulse shooter's dad) @ HRC rally? Did you see him smiling in tha background? What a sickening thing to see @ a US presidential candidate's rally.

More importantly, why ISN'T the mainstream media slamming this scenario?? Why don't they slam HRC? But they constantly slam Trump. They're fooling fools.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

"It's like Sean Hannity says: "Obviously you're saying there's a strong political movement within the second amendment, and if people mobilize and vote, they can stop Hillary from having this impact on the Supreme Court."

Exactly, exactly!

"I believe it's only a matter of a few weeks now before Trump is out of this race."

Whoa, hold on there, partner! WikiLeaks isn't going to wait a few more weeks to release the next batch of Hillary Wall Street Clinton-damning emails!

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

the media twists it and takes it out of context.

If we deliberately misrepresent you its your fault.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

@Nishikat: Twisted and out of context. "SOME" Mexicans who are "ILLEGALLY" in the country was the context of the comment. And yeah I'm really glad the killer's Dad is for gun control NOW, that really helps the 50 people his son shot and killed. How about some SON control instead of gun control?

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

An "amendment" is not a political movement.

But there is a movement to preserve the 2nd Amendment. You would agree right?

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

You accused Hillary of calling people "liars." I asked you to support that point with the actual quotation. You failed to do so.

No, just look at her untrustworthy poll numbers, there your answer. Don't hate me, she is the case of people not willing to trust her, again, I'm not talking about her base, they're Hillarybots, so if she jumped off a cliff, they would all follow her.

Then, you come in here and try to justify it without one shred of actual evidence. Worse, you try to then spin it by going into another one of your tu quoque rants.

Sorry, I didn't spin anything, I leave that up to liberals to broadcast on TV and print spin. Which we all know she does.

Sorry, but I think the majority of the readers here see what you did as another one of your partisan red herrings. Don't make claims unless you can back them up with actual facts from credible sources, especially when you get called out on them.

Excuse me, but as I said before, I'm not here for the readers opinions or whether they thumb me down or not, I could care less. If Hillary people want to believe she is innocent of any wrongdoing, that's their prerogative, I don't believe it and the majority of Americans don't.

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

The mainstream media can take a flying leap and we will give you poll results on whether or not it was from a high enough height. Trump will win this election if Hillary doesn't rig the machines.

-9 ( +3 / -12 )

Trump the best man for the job

-9 ( +3 / -12 )

Trump was talking about the gun lobby when he said the second amendment people, and how they might be able to lobby the congress to stop justices from being confirmed.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

One can be sure that the Service will discretely contact the Trump campaign to tell him to knock it off and warn him of the consequences if he does not. Inciting violence is just a step below committing violence - and gun supporters should be uniquely aware of this.

That's not their job. They wouldn't and can't tell a presidential candidate what to say and how to say it. They would be overstepping their boundaries.

This is simply not true. She never said this. Yes, I've read the sensationalist headlines from Breitbart and other right-wing media sites, and nowhere in any of their articles do they have a direct quotation from her actually saying this.

No, but her camp did and they speak on her behalf.

The closest that they can come is when Hillary said that she thought Patricia Smith was "wrong" about some of the things she said during her speech at the Republican convention. Well, saying someone is "wrong,' is not the same as saying that they are a "liar" now is it?

Oh, please! We're talking about Hillary Clinton now, come on.....

Therefore, I challenge you to back up your statement and show the actual quotation where Hillary calls Patricia Smith and other victims "liars."

https://youtu.be/CdnfSYIDJDs

-10 ( +3 / -13 )

Clinton backers and the media love misinterpreting or twisting anything that Trump says so they can call for him to step down/quit/be replaced. More "manufactured outrage". But when Hiillary says they ARE going to raise taxes in a speech we get this:

"it appears that Clinton actually said "we aren't going to raise taxes on the middle class," but either she didn't fully enunciate the ending of the word "aren't" or the word didn't come through clearly on the audio recording (or both). Worst case, she simply misspoke and said "are" when she meant "aren't,"

What are they so afraid of if they people actually get to choose between Trump and Clinton? She is soooo far ahead in the polls and there is noooooo way Trump can win, right?....or is that manufactured too?

Oh and nice pics of the Orlando killer's Dad sitting in the VIP section at the Hillary rally. Gotta manufacture something to avoid anyone talking about THAT.

-10 ( +1 / -11 )

So when Clinton speaks and says something wrong, the media corrects it for her and says "this is what she meant" and everyone is fine?

But when Trump speaks, the media twists it and takes it out of context. Trump has to clarify the comments HIMSELF, yet the media keeps on repeating the initial remarks in the context they want them to be heard. Someone today supporting Clinton even said Trump is not only responsible for what he says but for "what people hear". HUH? How can someone be responsible for what people (with a built in bias) HEAR??

People are going to be really surprised when a majority of the 50% of people who never vote show up and vote Trump.

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

Ok, I just watched the clip. Again, there was no direct quotation from the footage that was posted that had Hillary calling the families or Patricia Smith "liars." Nowhere--none, zip, nada.

Fine, you don't think so, most people do, even my most liberal co-workers can see that and the families should sue, I would as well, even if it's symbolic. Funny, you guys want to hold Trump on EVERY word he says, but Hillary, just give her a pass, came didn't mean it, whatever, you guys can hold Trump to a high standard and conservatives will do the same with Hillary.

What you did have was the commentator or creator of this piece twisting Hillary's words and claiming that Hillary was calling people liars when she never did. Do you ever actually read or watch your sources, or do you just read the headlines?

It doesn't matter what I put up, as I said, as long as liberals don't approve of it, it's basically passed off as gossip or nonesense, so I'm not going to bother, I'll just put something and if you guys believe it or not, it won't really matter. I'm not going to waste my time or any libs that refuse to listen to to facts and take a one-sided approach to the candidates.

However, I don't want to get off the topic of this article, which is about another Trump gaffe, so please stop trying to redirect the focus of this thread from Trump to Hillary.

I'll keep both in check that's the main focus, two candidates, both unpopular, but popular with their base.

-11 ( +1 / -12 )

Even Susan Collins who doesn't support Trump said he was suggesting that "2nd Amendment advocates around the country might come together to pressure the Senate." She is right that there are numerous legal avenues to exert pressure on public officials. We have three more months of this madness before us.

-12 ( +3 / -15 )

Pfffft! This is nothing compared to the firestorms Trump is going to ignite when he takes office next January, he is going to turn our corrupt Washington establishment on its head.

-12 ( +2 / -14 )

I can't wait until Hillary Wall Street Clinton is properly indicted and sentenced to prison.

-12 ( +2 / -14 )

Trump is a good man who is attracting huge crowds, while the Clintons are not.

-12 ( +2 / -14 )

The second ammendment is not going anywhere anytime soon folks. Deal with it.

The criminals that use guns can go somewhere.....for a long time.

-13 ( +6 / -19 )

HRC cannot take our guns. Its time to slam these gang members, illegals and drug dealers with hard prison time when they use a gun during the commission of a crime. Passer stricter laws, the law abiding gun owners don't have a problem with that. Why do young minority democratic voters?

The pro 2nd amendment people's voices are will be heard when they go to the polls.

Trump doing what he does best being stupid..what is even more stupid is his followers that continue to follow him...

As stupid as crooked HRC who had to cheat Sanders and became the nominee? Or as stupid as her open borders policies? Or as stupid as her lying to the FBI, American people & the world. . . . Yeah, Democrats. YOU built that.

-13 ( +1 / -14 )

Trump really has nobody to blame but himself for any unequal coverage he receives. True, Clinton has made a lot of gaffes, but it usually isn`t media bias that leads to these recieving little coverage,

No, it's completely media bias to the max. Even the NYT in a nutshell came out and pretty much admitted that they would do anything to not see a Trump presidency happen, not in those exact words, but in a very clear roundabout way. That's not journalism, that's being a partisan.

but Trump making an even bigger gaffe that soaks up all the media attention.

Because they give Hillary a pass on hers.

"Clinton getting caught out on lies related to her email scandal? Hey, now would be a good time for me to pick a fight with the Khans.

For example: Khan excoriates Trump about his rant against Muslims, but doesn't rant against the woman that supported the war where his son was killed?? And why should Trump let Khan insult him? Because he's a Goldstar parent? Why is it that Hillary can call the family of the Benghazi victims liars, both families children died for the country and if the media wants to support Khan and his son, they should equally support the Benghazi families, that's if they want to be fair and balanced.

Or Paul Ryan. Or hint that Hillary should be assassinated. Whatever it takes to get the cameras back on me, even though it is clearly self defeating."

Ryan didn't want to support Trump at first, so when's Trump did the same thing, that's bad? How so?

Trump isn`t an idiot at the mercy of unfair media bias, he is himself a media insider and knows exactly how to generate attention. He could easily avoid all the unwanted attention by toning down his rhetoric, but keeps on deliberately stoking it by pouring gas on the fire. That is his schtick.

Listen, I think Trump does have a problem with his temper, I'm not defending him on that, my problem is, the media and how they pile on him, but give Hillary a constant pass, that's the thing that sticks in my throat!

-13 ( +2 / -15 )

@Mr. Bum

Trump advocates

Hillary's already a pro. And not only terrorists, but innocent women and children too. Maybe you need to go back and watch some footage of Hillary and G.W. Bush standing next to each other as they sell their lies/wars, and don't forget how ALL the MSM was on board selling the wars too. Yes...hypocrites.

-13 ( +1 / -14 )

What a joke because the Japanese government would if you had them (in Japan)

Hee-hee-hee. . . the Japanese government obviously doesn't have a problem with all those guns on US bases.

Clinton backers and the media love misinterpreting or twisting anything that Trump says

Bingo. Did you see the Pulse shooter's dad @HRC rally?? What a sick joke. He's pro Taliban.

Yet, if D Duke was spotted @ Trump rally. . . . the liberal media would have Field Day with it!! Hypocrisy 101. Uh-hmm~~

-13 ( +1 / -14 )

Oh good grief, the establishment media in complete spazz-out mode, twisting Trump's words. He was obviously saying there's a strong political movement within the second amendment, and if people mobilize and vote, they can stop Hillary from having this impact on the Supreme Court. He was NOT inciting murder/violence. Sheesh.

-13 ( +1 / -14 )

Quit calling American citizens names because we support Trump. We must be "uneducated" (I have a Bachelor's degree in Sociology), we must be "poor" - I have a beautiful home , savings and have just bought a second home, we must be "trailer trash" - no, we live in a very beautiful STICK BUILT HOME. LOL Frankly, stereotyping as liberals do - is the trait of the UNEDUCATED.

-14 ( +2 / -16 )

and gun supporters should be uniquely aware of this.

Does that include Obama? Weapons salesperson of the year and inciting violence in the Middle East and Africa? Ohhh....of course not. It's OK for Obama and Hillary to start wars and murder people. Hypocrite.

-16 ( +3 / -19 )

@ almosttransparentblue- did he say murder? Ho close to murder was implied? Was he clearly joking? Cmon, I know US flags flying at UC Berkley is offensive so it no longer flies in USA. When will it stop?

I need to go to my "safe zone" now. I can't handle even the slightest opposition.

Rediculas!

-25 ( +1 / -26 )

"Stupid is as stupid does."

Are we talking about Hillary again??? Now, now, now....

Ahh, so the same way liberals try to scare and fear monger people into guns are the problem and that the gun itself will walk, stand up and kill you?

Expect his handlers (including the folks who wrote the speech he just read) to quickly come up with ‘he didn’t mean that’, ‘he was taken out of context’, ‘he was being sarcastic’, 'he was joking' or one of the other covers for his latest blunder. However, his comments are not seen as ‘blunders’ by his true believers. After all, their Messiah has promised he’ll make America hate again. All they want is to be able to carry assault weapons wherever they go and have NO gun free areas.

Hillary has made and keeps on making gaffes herself, is she challenged, not usually and this is the reason why people like Trump and Sanders are the outspoken rock stars.

One of the most important jobs of any leader is being an effective communicator. Trump’s not a leader: he’s a demagogue. He knows how to wind up his already angry white nationalist followers.

Whoa, I know Trump doesn't have the greatest oratory skills, but neither does Hillary, in fact, Hillary is one of the worst speakers of any professional politician. She is NOT her husband or Obama for that matter. Even I can admit Obama is a great speaker (that's just about the max of his political skills) and Bill is so good, he can convince you of buying a broken down old house worth nothing, but Hillary, not a likable person, mean stare and dishonest. So let's be seriously fair for once, I know it's hard for liberals to do, Trump is not a good speaker, we all get that, but Hillary is not that much better, especially when you compare her to her husband.

-26 ( +4 / -30 )

We're at a point you can't say anything. He obviously was joking.

More importantly Hillary had the terrorist dad behind her at her rally and he endorsed her publicly. When Duke only endorsed from the press Trump was labeled a white supremacist. Using the same logic is Hillay a Talliban member? But, this made no headline.
