More ridiculous overkill in communist China. And this is the country that wants to lead the world?

Attempt to murder three police officers from behind, just nine years of imprisonment! In America such a felony will be sentenced for life! Who is more ridiculous?

I have no sympathy for the CCP regime, but in this case he really deserved some jail time for his reckless driving. The video is out there.

9 years in prison . . . How many people did he kill?

Zero.

Do not visit China or Hong Kong. Do not buy any of their products. Do not use any of their services. Support Taiwan. China is an immense prison camp.

Can we add “Do not support US Republicans and Democrats” to that list?

You obviously know nothing about how he would be judged in the US for the same action, but it would not be for even 9 years. Nobody died, so no he would not be imprisoned for life.

But the CCP doesn't care about justice, they only care about oppressing democratic opposition from Hong Kong. It always comes down to the thin skin of the CCP who can't legitimately lead the country by allowing the citizens to determine their leaders for themselves. The rest of the world knows this.

inciting secession

Are laws agains secession not in breach of article 1 of the UN charter?

*"To develop friendly relations among nations based on respect for the principle of equal rights and self-determination of peoples"*

The above sounds like a slogan that will be parroted by Trump’s social media armies in the US and ‘abroad’ as their Trump attempts to further undermine the remaining bits of US democracy while replacing the republic with a China/Russia style system of authoritarianism while continueing to get support from China and Russia.

Trump and his GQOP backers and their media appeal to a white nationalist base of who want to re-fight the Civil War, thinking this time their version of the Confederacy will prevail while also continuing the fossil economy so their global establishment made up of oil, gas and coal corporations financed by the big banks can maintain their power and control. They will blindly follow their Trump as he leads them back to a garden, that never was. While they pay tithe to Trump and he gets richer.

I've lived in many countries, some democratic, others autocracies. I was living in Taiwan when it peacefully transitioned from the latter to the former, and look what has become of it. But I'd read long ago that China is like sand on a sheet of paper: without some strong adhesive, all will go to pieces. I don't think that's as true as it once was, but it retains some veracity.
