Calling it an animal market kind of muddies it a little. Actually a seafood market is what I read earlier.

What about this guy Connor Reed (25) who caught it in November 2019 in Wuhan, possibly from his cat, and was only notified by Chinese authorities on the 52nd day after catching it that it was the new corona virus?

Plenty of people by testomonies reported cases far earlier than that date. We all knwow it originated during the military games in Wuhan in october 2019, from a a lab leak.

Personally I got all symptoms like of covid with other 2 colleagues at least in November/December 2019 (the only one over 60 went for 2 weeks to hospital, and I had to get to emergency for a oxygen boost once while I am an athlete).

Bad luck only ?

These places are horid. I am almost sure there will be Sars-Cov-3 . We shouldn't learn how to live with COVID. The world should learn how to live with China.

In effect, 1 Chinese having a pangoline burger, turns out, isn't so different from throwing a nuclear bomb in Europe. This virus killed many people.

We must re-think medical care, testing , vaccine and medicine development

Pretty big "typo" on the original report.

About 8 billion people trying to figure out how this pandemic happened, and almost 2 years later someone finally realizes this typo. (My level of trust is pretty low new development)

Nice fairy tale, now I can sleep much better…not!

Wuhan is the only place in China where they study AND mutilate the family of corona viruses. The bats that this virus originated from are not found in Wuhan, they are found thousands of kilometres away. The French (cofounders of the Wuhan lab) quit the lab in Wuhan because of the lax safety standards…..now then, I wonder if the pandemic originated from a market just around the corner from the lab? Any where else it could have come from?

You can read Worobey's paper here:

https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.abm4454

He said, "there was a genuine preponderance of early COVID-19 cases associated with Huanan Market". But don't worry folks - it doesn't rule out the possibility that someone had been looking at a picture of Bill Gates and thus becoming infected just before going to the market.

@Haaa Nemui…..do you know where Wuhan is? It’s just under 1000k from the ocean! Not a very fresh ‘sea food’ market if it was a sea food market. I lived in China for several years, the animal markets are shocking…..they sell pretty much every wild animal you could imagine in shocking conditions and all for eating…..all alive as well.

China's wet markets are well known incubators of viruses so no surprise here. How anyone can relish the disgusting stuff sold there is beyond my understanding.

Peter Daszak, a disease expert who was on the WHO investigation team, said he was convinced by Worobey's analysis.

That would be the same Peter Daszak, who was working with the Wuhan lab on Corona virus research and bragging in pre-covid interviews about how suitable Corona type viruses are for enhanced function manipulation? That one? If so, the article writer conveniently forgot to mention that.

We dont' know that because there is no proof of it!

However China is blocking all investigations into the origin of the virus which doesn't help it's credibility.

You need a broader mind to accept other cultures. Humans eat all sort of stuff and no-one has the right to look down on others.

Safe than sorry.
