What a stupid thing to say. GE Aviation is among the top aircraft engine suppliers, and offers engines for the majority of commercial aircraft.

Definitely not GE fault most likely something else, could be the sand. Sand is a big enemy of rotary blades or something else, you cannot rule out engine problems, but GE has a very good record in the aviation industry. I don't even think GE makes engines for helicopters. I think one of them is Lycoming, but not quite sure.

u.s. copters seem to have bad reliability. so many crashes in recent years. must be made by gm or chrysler.

I think it's time to call it a day in Afghanistan an bring the troops home. Nothing we do will be good enough for the Afghan tribes and they really never wanted us there. I know, I've been there. Exactly the same thing happened to the Soviets and we thought we could just go in and take over... for what?? The fools in congress can't get the budget passed and the sequestration has already impacted my comrades and our operations. I call bull****.
