This is why my laptop camera has tape over it.

Meh... it happens. As long as it is apparent enough that it was not intentional, I think we can be human about it and the embarrasment enough.

I liked the cat judge more.

I agree with smithinjapan, it was unintentional, the guy made a cockup and is as embarrassed as any of us would be, so let’s all have a snigger and let the poor chap move on (or get on with getting dressed!).

-male speakers "must be wearing contemporary business attire"

-especially the male ones.

Why the gender disparity? I thought we were supposed to be getting rid of such things.

He was able to cover himself adequately with a mobile phone? That's an unfortunate release of personal information.

Oh, it's a liberal so it's OK....

It's not ok.

And you know that the definition and political actuality of the term "liberal" varies greatly from country to country.

Where I'm from, "liberals" are seen as center right who want to maintain the status quo. They are hardly the Marxists that some ill-informed commentators make them out to be.

It's a bit dubious, his moment on camera. To say the least.

Do laptop cameras turn on by themselves?

Look, no hands!

Should have covered up with a maple leaf then all Canadians would have rejoiced.

Spy technology can turn on cameras and microphones on switched off smart devices. He could of been set up.

They said “wireless”; he thought they said Y front less.

So much for Canadians being reticent and conservative.

I don't buy it. Since he was careful enough to keep his genitals covered, he knew he was on camera.

Does he not have a more suitable place to change his clothes?

He was inside his house. What better place is there? Technology has allowed us to invite the world into our homes in real time. There can't be an expectation of privacy nowadays.

Do laptop cameras turn on by themselves?

Yes and no!

If a zoom or other application has a scheduled video meeting and the user accepts the invitation even days before and the settings are set to automatic, then at the exact time the meeting starts the application launches and turns on the camera and microphone.

Usually these settings should be set to manual but in many cases because some people seem incapable of understanding how a computer works, the IT support people set things up and turn everything to auto to avoid a bunch of people contacting them to ask how to start or join the meeting.

And because of these types of apps I make sure all my family members have tape or something similar over their tablet or laptop cameras.

At least he wasn't trying to make a 'dkprint'. Taking a picture of your junk and then sending it somebody is **a crime. And he didn't do it on purpose either. He was just careless, that's all.

**CORRECTION**

Do any of the females do similarly? Oh, it's a liberal so it's OK....

Does he not have a more suitable place to change his clothes?
