The government has plenty of options to cut a measly 2% of its pork without inconveniencing people... While travellers are sweating, don´t expect a decrease in the opulent White House parties

LOL! You've got to be kidding us with that example.

WilliB: But this is Obama trying to maximize effect on the population to push through his political goals.

I think of it more as Republicans doing anything possible just to feel like they still have some kind of power in government with a shrinking base.

(Psst - WilliB: Congress passed this law. The law mandates cuts in an awful way, but in a way mandated by Congress. Obama could no more change it than he could unilaterally change any other part of the budget. Thanks for sharing, though.)

A crappy way to run a country. What an embarrassment. Only one thing will result in this and that is a major aviation accident after such a long time with a good safety record. Also, I wonder how many wanna-be terrorists are going to try and take advantage of this. Not good. I just traveled across the U.S. a few weeks ago and am glad I'm safe back at home. I hope our government gets their act together by next March when I want to travel again. Geez!

Nope. No kidding. Though there are plenty of other sources of pork.

While travellers are sweating, don´t expect a decrease in the opulent White House parties, the frequent holiday trips, the staff of White House calligraphers, the massive stimulus spending for often absurd projects, etc etc...
