Hopefully the people will be safe with limited number of lives lost. The cost of rebuilding will be substantial, and I am sure many will have no insurance or limited insurance for replacing homes, businesses and belongings. Lets hope the government has enough sympathy to help out the ordinary people with no interest loans and free grants to overcome immediate hardships.
Europe, North America, Australia and Japan are no strangers to natural events causing wide ranging destruction. Sympathies go out to the ordinary people effected. Stay safe and help each other.

@kaimycahl I do not think the CCP is capable of doing the right thing for its people, but it does not preclude hoping that might change to help some of the poor survive. And why I said to "help each other". Everyone caught up in a natural disaster event deserves sympathy. I have no ill will for Chinese people who simply want to live in peace and who work hard to support themselves and their family.
The CCP have often shown themselves to be despicable people, I am just hoping they have some who have sympathy for their own people and actually want to help them. Small chance to be sure, but i hope for the best in a bad situation.

That's quite the pile of garbage in the photo. As they say a picture tells a thousand words.
