Florida is in the grip of its deadliest wave of COVID-19 since the pandemic began,

Floridians are dying and getting sicker while Florida's QGOP Governor Ron Overreach DeSantis is spending time raising money for his presidential race. The QGOP who support him also supported Trump under whose leadership millions of Americans died and got sicker from Covid, while Trump spent time watching Cable news shows and tweeting B list celebreties from his luxury golf courses as the US economy worsened.

Too many people identifying as conservatives listen to media personalities (like those listed below) that parroted Russian, Chinese and others in the far right pushing anti-vaccination , anti-mask messages.

First it was Dick Farrel. Then Phil Valentine. Most recently, Marc Bernier. Just within the past month, those three conservative radio hosts — all unvaccinated critics of inoculation efforts — died after contracting Covid.

90% of the hospitalizations in Florida are the unvaccinated.

Tka the vaccine, your governor is not smart enough to care for your health.

I saw yesterday that there is a correlation between strongly Trump voting areas and covid cases. The stronger for Trump the more cases. They are literally killing their support. Anti mask, anti vaccine, anti science anti life!

“COVID-19 cases stay high, hospitalizations drop in Florida”

Zichi: No ICU beds are available.

But that's a small price to pay for freedom.

There seems to be no concept of doing anything out of respect for one's neighbors, co-workers, and family. Masking, social distancing, getting vaccinated are not just for you. They are necessary for everyone to do to stop the spread of this disease. Please people, don't be so self centered. Wearing a mask can prevent you from infecting someone else. They are very good at preventing your germs from spraying past the mask. You could be infected and not aware of it so wear it out of respect for others. Don't be the person that infects someone's elderly parent or other relative sending them to their grave. Don't be the one who gives a child Covid-19 who later develops this horrible inflammatory condition much like Kawasaki Disease that scientists are struggling to understand. It can do permanent damage, even be fatal. You don't want to be the person who infects someone else. Take the precautions, every single one of them, not just for yourself but for everyone else. Please don't be selfish. If we all do not do everything necessary the death and dislocation will just go on and on.

More rumors as of now, the man is more interested in keeping his State free. Now Trump on the other hand is contemplating…

Very true sir, though I am not sure what desantis is keeping the state free of, intelligence, people….?

trump contemplating!!!! that is such an exciting news, that man has never been known to contemplate anything!

Well, the people that are sick and dying in States like California, the largest in the Union with more vaccinated people are getting hammered by a lame duck governor as conditions worsen many of the powerful still back him.

This is such shocking news, do you have any sources for this information. And let me say clearly I don’t think for a minute you are making it up. Because that would be disinformation on the virus and the mods take disinformation very seriously!!!

Now, we don’t. If anything we reject the Marxist and socialist models, so people like AOC, Thalib and Sanders are on our boot list.

So all these radio hosts gave up their lives fighting Marxism? Not taking the vaccine is fighting Marxism?

It’s a refreshing perspective, though some people might classify it as Vaccine Disinformation.

Florida is just one example of the same thing playing out across the United States.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

But at least in Florida you don’t have to show a vaccine passport to go anywhere. Requiring it for entrance or participation has been banned with a $5000 penalty.

lol

What about the dangers of vaccine side effects.

I have a responsibility to my family, to my work, to my community and even to pay taxes.

If I suffer a serious side effect, I become a burden to my family, community and the medical system.

And instead of paying taxes, I'll become a drain on the system.

My decision is not to become a burden on society so I wish to avoid the risk of vaccine side effects.

Sir, believe me the side effects of the virus are even worse, they include death.

The mortality rates can be as high as 7% in some countries, the deaths due to vaccines is very small and rare.

That's what these guys said, and what will be inscribed on their headstones....

Florida is in the grip of its deadliest wave of COVID-19 since the pandemic began, a disaster driven by the highly contagious delta variant.

Really? You'd never know that by listening to Ron "Mission Accomplished" DeSantis, as he goes around the state deleting funding for schools that are trying to protect children and teachers by requiring masks.

Remember when the conservative cry was "open the schools!" Our kids are being enormously harmed and cheated by staying at home! That was then, now its "kill their funding!" and force them to close if they have a mask mandate.

It's just one more example of MAGA-theater - the far-right media and the Repub pols manipulating and playing the MAGA-masses for fools...even as they lie in ICUs or morgues...

Well, it's Florida you know.

I wholeheartedly agree with that.

90% of the hospitalizations in Florida are the unvaccinated.

There is some discussion in the medical community that hospitals shouldn’t treat the unvaccinated when ICUs are getting hammered like this.

It’s an interesting ethical question.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Can you provide a 100% guarantee that I won't end up burdening my family and the medical system with a side effect if I take Pfizer's product?

Can you point us towards ICUs full of patients with vaccine side effects?

Please argue in good faith.

There is an excellent essay on why you should get the vaccine on -

www.mcsweeneys.net

Just do a search for Wendy Molyneux. It's worth reading.

The risk of not being vaccinated are greater than being vaccinated. Pfizer is now an American proved drug. Long covid is a very serious health issue for many

If people want them and feel they should take the jab, go for it. If you think it’s right for you.

If people want them and feel they should take the jab, go for it. If you think it’s right for you.

Clearly, as demonstrated by Austin Miles and his mother, what people think is right for them and what is actually right for them are not always the same.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

There is no point arguing with people anymore about getting vaccinated as it’s been proven without a doubt to prevent serious illness. I only feel sorry for people that refuse to acknowledge modern medicine as they will ultimately pay the ultimate price .

We keep hearing that and yet it seems that the majority of people are recovering, not everyone that contracts this virus is going to die. What about the people that have died even though they were vaccinated?

Half of my family lives in Florida and just had a conversation with some of them last night and I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

First they call me to wish the vaccine I got was Moderna and that they hope the same happens to every vaccine in the world so they dumb that stuff in the trash.

Then when they talking about how the liberal states have won the battle against. "mah freedom," I mentioned that sometimes you need to sacrifice a bit of freedom for the greater good and lo and behold, what followed was insane.

They went to talk that is I wanted to sacrifice my freedom I should move to North Korea. That Covid is akin the tactics used in WWII by Nazi Germany and atrocities committed during the Holocaust will now be committed against the non vaccinated. That countries like Japan, China and New Zealand have always been easy to control by dictators but that we Americans will never allow that to happen in US soil. That they've got freedom and if you give a tiny bit, you allow totalitarian governments to win. And that's the reason they're anti-masks, anti social-distancing and now, anti-vaccines.

I was so sad after that conversation I almost cried. Like what the heck is happening over there in Florida? How do you deal with this when they're your close family?

9 ( +10 / -1 )

If people want them and feel they should take the jab, go for it. If you think it’s right for you.

It's right for everyone, at this point in time.

Proof comes in droves that this virus will mutate and those who refuse to alleviate proliferation of the virus by being an anti vaxxer and refuse to acknowledge preventative measures are wrong.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Each person should seek advice from their healthcare provider and turn off the TV and media chatter and Washington, that way you can make the best informed decision. I would never listen to any of these people. Talked to my doctor and he’s always steered me in the right direction.

Anti vax and general disinformation narrative that's been going on. It's a brainwash of lies, and speaking with people like your family is an unfortunate waste of time. It's like the Q. Insanity can't be conversed with as COVID will proliferate in places like Florida.

Can you provide a 100% guarantee...

Unreasonable demands require no reasonable response. There are never 100% guarantees on anything.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

Unreasonable demands require no reasonable response. There are never 100% guarantees on anything.

In other words, no reasonable explanations.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

In other words, no reasonable explanations.

There's only one; getting vaccinated vastly improves your chances, not getting vaccinated vastly decreases your chances.

Talked to my doctor and he’s always steered me in the right direction.

He clearly hasn't. Does he advise all of his patients to avoid vaccination, or just the ones who are politically partisan? Are you sure he isn't a plumber?

8 ( +9 / -1 )

no reasonable explanations.

Sorry, dude, there's been so many explanations, you just pick and choose the one's you want, instead of actually trying to openly comprehend the explanations.

When there is proof and a means to understand the viral spread and how to try and prevent further proliferation, it's a big weakness to not realize how something like COVID spreads in Florida because of anti vax'ing and refusal to recognize what should be done.

This isn't a new thing that you might question, it's something right in front of you and now you're just turning a blind eye.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Especially this guy...who does he think he is trying to convince his supporters to get vaccinated?

I would recommend it," Mr Trump said during an interview on Fox News Primetime on Tuesday. "I would recommend it to a lot of people that don't want to get it and a lot of those people voted for me, frankly." He added: "It's a great vaccine**it's a safe vaccine and it's something that works."**

According to whom?

-10 ( +1 / -11 )

According to whom?

Doctors, real ones, not imaginary ones.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Please stop arguing with anti vaccers.... It is pointless and futile. Using logical reasoning with those who have abandoned logic is a waste of time and only feeds their needs.

Covid is quickly becoming a disease for the unvaccinated. In Japan those with serious cases or in ICU are almost entirely the un-vaccinated. If people chose to refuse the one thing shown to greatly reduce their risk to covid they should not be able to use the health service. I would be in favor of these people having to sign a waiver. Why should the rest of us pay for their foolishness.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Can't for the life of me understand why Americans still are so stubborn about getting vaccinated. They have access but many are passing on it. Death doesn't seem to be much of a deterrent until it's too late.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Thus I will refrain from taking Pfizer's product which can not guarantee 100% safety.

Interesting, so I guess you have also refused the smallpox, polio, diphtheria, cholera, meningitis, typhoid, and yellow fever vaccines - since none of those are "100 percent guaranteed safe" either...

Granted I lose access to pubs, night clubs and rock concerts, but my taxes will be paid and my family will be fed.

I think those would be the least of your worries...

The governor appears to be instituting policies to make the situation worse.

And Texas and Mississippi as well. These governors are practically committing murder by neglecting the duties and abusing their offices.

So many media lies:

Rolling Stone publishes article claiming ER in Oklahoma is full because of people self-dosing Ivermectin. Hospital says the doctor Rolling Stone quoted hasn’t worked there in two months & they haven’t had any IVM patients in the ER anyway.

No ICU beds in Florida and Texa.

not true either.
