Florida is 22 at 13.7 deaths by firearm per 100,000 residents. Illinois is worse at 14.1. Arizona, right next door to California and an open carry state has 16.7 deaths per 100,000 residents, twice the rate of California. Nevada is worse still at 17. Oregon, at 13 per 100,000, is nothing to brag about either. Mississippi has the most deaths by firearms, 28.6 per 100,000. Hawaii is the lowest at 3.4 and Massachusetts is no 2 at 3.7. Oh those nasty liberal states and their low rates of death by firearm.
