Hmm, I wonder if Trumps Mar-a-Lago resort is in the path of the hurricane? Maybe a higher power is trying to send a message to Trump and friends?

Liza: "But seriously it is Gore that needs another set of talking points. "

Hahaha! This, coming from someone who believes the party that Rush Limbaugh is a part of -- a man who says this hurricane, which is FACT, is a "liberal hoax" despite the fact that you can see it from outer space. I pray to god Rush Limbaugh goes on believe that and tries to prove it by offering to fly out into it in a helicopter and go for a swim.

Trump may start to believe particularly now that his Caribbean mansion is in the direct path of Irma and quite possibly headed for his South Florida properties . But seriously it is Gore that needs another set of talking points. The last I heard his wild predictions of several years ago had not materialized because the global carbon emissions had started to stabilize.

This Chinese "hoax" about climate change is mightily impressive.

Or perhaps God is talking to Donald Trump.  Wouldn't he love that.  "Last night my friends, last night, God called me (cue wild clapping and yahoos), and he told me that a little storm might be coming our way.  I said to him is this climate change?  Is this climate change God?  And he said no.  So who you going to believe?  Me speaking to God or those alt-left loonies?"

@CrazyJoe,

I don't know where you got your quote from, but the one below is from the IPCC. NOAA says much the same. In other words, the jury's still out on the effect of global warming on hurricanes.

Believers and deniers belong in the realms of religion and ideology. The foundation of science is ignorance. The result is knowledge, not belief.

"Projections for the 21st century indicate that it is likely that the global frequency of tropical cyclones will either decrease or remain essentially unchanged, concurrent with a likely increase in both global mean tropical cyclone maximum wind speed and rain rates (Figure TS.26). The influence of future climate change on tropical cyclones is likely to vary by region, but there is low confidence in region-specific projections. The frequency of the most intense storms will more likely than not increase substantially in some basins. More extreme precipitation near the centers of tropical cyclones making landfall are likely in North and Central America, East Africa, West, East, South and Southeast Asia as well as in Australia and many Pacific islands."

Wait, the model was less storms, not more. OK, well let's just all step into the way back machine and make up some more stuff.

The entire history of weather is about 150 years out of 4 billion years, so that's a sample size of about 1.

Staff at the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) have been told to avoid using the term climate change in their work, with the officials instructed to reference “weather extremes” instead.

“Climate change” is in the “avoid” category, to be replaced by “weather extremes”. Instead of “climate change adaption”, staff are asked to use “resilience to weather extremes”.

More people around the globe will die as a result of climate change. The deniers are complicit in this carnage.

But hey, it's got nothing to do with human activity -- get those oil rigs in Texas back on!

The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive.

this quote is from the leader of the free world. he is the most powerful person on earth, so you are either with him or against him. good luck on mars.

Weather and climate are not the same. The climate is changing, long term average changes effecting sea currents and temperatures have long been predicted to start showing the exact kind of things we are beginning to see.

I have friends and work colleagues in Florida, I hope they are going to be ok!

@Crazy Joe

Oh they understand it, of course. But none of it is real, it's a hoax designed to hobble industry and the triumphant march of capitalism.

I mean, it's definitely cooler these days than it was in August. Explain that one, you eco-botherers!

Dear Climate Change Deniers,

What part of "more frequent and more powerful storms" don't you understand?
