More MAGA-theater for the MAGA-Morons....
Anything to change the subject from his bungled COVID response and his "Mission Accomplished" speech six months ago....
Repubs everywhere doing Putin's work for him - trying to destroy American democracy from within...

The current Republican Party....
You have the establishment Rotary Club Repubs...
Then there are the rabid crazies, real certified nut cases; Nunes, Gohmert, Hawley, MTG, Gaetz....
Then there are the calculated kooks, who may be the worst....they're not nuts, in fact most are rather cunning - they just act nuts as theater and to appeal to the MAGA-masses....DeSantis, Abbott, Cruz, Rubio, McCarthy....
They don't believe anything they say, they just shout the latest Fox outrage talking points and think the current Repub electorate are weak-minded and easily duped...
They're right...(no pun)....

Gov DeSantis seems to have missed the part in Constitutional Law about the Supremacy Clause. Unfortunate, that....
Or maybe, just maybe he KNOWS that immigration is a federal issue over which he has no control and he is just trying to score cheap political points?
Say it isn't so! No elected official would seek to be so dishonest and self-interested going into a closer than expected race for re--election, would he?

The courts ruled that Constitutional rights were violated. I didn't realize that ended at the Florida border.
"He said the sheriff relied on racial profiling and illegal detentions to target Latinos, using their ethnicity as the main basis for suspecting they were in the country illegally. Many of the people targeted were American citizens or legal residents."
Let's see what Ron has in mind for "reasonably believed to be transporting illegal aliens." Maybe they will wear hats saying they are undocumented?

You'll not hear about it in a few years, once it turns blue or empty.
You mean there are only liberals left in Texas, amazing!!!
But you just said there are only liberals left in Texas!!!

A poor attempt by desantis to deflect from the massive failure he is facing in his state, schools closed, hospitals at capacity and a population which is able to understand despite their bigoted blinkers, the culpability of the administration in the pandemic sweeping through their state.
ulysses
Very true dear sir, Florida is a lot paler and older, but then these people are getting affected by the massive failure of desantis on the pandemic. I think despite their limited race based view, they are beginning to understand the failures of this administration.
ulysses
Thank you dear sir for acknowledging that vaccinations are helpful.
Though the people who succumbed will find little solace!
Dear sir not only the left , the ambidextrous also want to get rid of him and you know the best way of doing that, elections!!!
Some of desantis buddies like gaetz re dragging him down , not that he needed any help in that!!!
ulysses
Dear sir, Texas will be empty quite soon the way ab bot is going. People and companies are leaving in droves. Even the republicans dont want to have anything to do with that state. My very good friend, a republican from Texas, told me that.!!!
But sir, you had predicted that Newsom would lose!!!
ulysses
You'll not hear about it in a few years, once it turns blue or empty.
Agree, hardly anyone will be left.
Well sir doesn't' look like you have much to hope for!!!

How exactly is democracy being "usurped"?
Express sister
Aren't you the guy who says that Democratic voters from California and New York are moving to Texas in droves? What do you think will happen when lefties move into Texas and start voting?
Please do share your sources.
You think being opposed to a Republican politician is an attempt to usurp democracy?
Desert Tortoise
I would say the Federal Government has no legal ability to task state agencies in any way. It would be up to the Federal Government to arrange for the settlement of immigrants granted residence in the US. However the state cannot actively obstruct Federal efforts or try to make them illegal. In general Federal agencies are never bound by state laws when those laws conflict with Federal law. That is true over a wide range of matters from pay and benefits for Federal workers that often fall below the requirements of some state's labor laws (examples are overtime rules and use of lose vacation time, some state prohibit use or lose rules), to the detail that states cannot enforce state laws on Federal lands.
SuperLib
Yeah they tried this in Arizona. It resulted in a lot of legal Latinos being pulled over for the crime of looking Latino and requiring to show proof of citizenship.
It didn't end well for Arpaio.
Bob Fosse
“Bonkers”, lol. Bingo!
Desert Tortoise
That is a story circulating with nothing behind it, a nice excuse used by some on the right as an excuse to do nothing in the face of a pandemic that is tearing through regions that refuse to do the right things to stop a pandemic such as mandatory mask wearing, social distancing and vaccinations. Show us some research that backs that claim. Not opinion pieces but actual scientific research.
Bob Fosse
He’s at it again. I hope Floridians are keeping track of how much time and money is wasted on Desanstis’ political tap dances that lead nowhere. What’s his batting average so far? Won any yet? No.
proxy
Not to mention COVID being spread by the thousands of illegal immigrants Biden has allowed to enter.
bass4funk
Florida is not Arizona. It’s sadly not going to go well for this White House and Floridians.
GdTokyo
Or maybe just don't offer him any. "Sorry dude, that's a state-issue. Condolences...."
The Avenger
Of course DeSantis won’t request any federal help when the next hurricane hits Florida, and kills thousands of people, destroys property all over, and causes millions of dollars in damages.
The warped mind of a Trump Republican.
bass4funk
Been hearing that since 1992
Hardly
https://www.hi-reit.com/moving-to-texas/
No, I hoped that he would lose
bass4funk
Exactly, DeSantis is just not going to allow this President to usurp democracy from the Floridians and he can see exactly what this guy is doing by sending thousands of Haitians migrants to his State and the bad thing is, this White House could sadly care less about this poor unfortunate people that have nothing, but this administration promised them they can stay and just sends many of them to Florida and DeSantis isn’t putting up with this WH screwups and plans.
bass4funk
By the Democrats failed and relentless attempt in trying to demonize this man.
I found quite a few sources and also sources locally and they say nothing of the sort and yes, Forbes has became more left-wing after Steve Forbes left the company.
bass4funk
We keep hearing that in the same way Beto kept saying Texas will be Blue. Lol
Uh-huh, trying to get rid of DeSantis is about the same is trying to get rid of Gavin Newson.
bass4funk
it seems like they’re getting away from their own mess that they created and now they learn the error of their wicked ways
By a Washington establishment politician, yes
Blacklabel
good, stop sending all the "sick" and not COVID tested (in the words of Mayorkis, DHS) illegal immigrants to Florida.
bass4funk
Yeah, been hearing that since 1992
From the liberals leaving, sounds about right.
Its a California echo chamber like Texas is a conservative one.
bass4funk
Failure?? Well….
https://miami.cbslocal.com/2021/09/07/covid-hospitalizations-down-in-south-florida-statewide/
To the left that are trying and failing to get rid of this guy, perhaps.
bass4funk
Washington establishment Republicans, that is very true, great!
Yeah, according to the leftist media, not to the people.
