It's too late. The first wave was/is not over and now states are reopening and the death count just keeps going up.

That's a scary question, especially in the Trump era when he and his fellow 'elite' try to grab more power for the executive while pushing for the country to become even more authoritarian under his flailing leadership. His 'I have the authority' should worry all who value the Constitution and the separation and balance of powers.

Certain posters keep acting as if this quarantine is something new. In fact, quarantine for disease has a long history in the United States. Prior to the development of an effective vaccine, people were forcibly quarantined for diseases such as measles. In fact, it was even used as a plot point in an episode of Tom & Jerry from the 1950's:

The same quarrantine rules can apply for multiple diseases including TB, smallpox, yellow fever, and various other diseases.
So-called 'reverse quarantining' or lockdown has also been used for the Flu Pandemic of 1918 as well.
In none of these cases were there widespread people screaming and storming state capitols with guns.

Media, especially social media, have made it easier to wind people up. Especially when someone like the US president uses his position, media and troll armies to ramp up anger in mobs.

It’s not the Trump administration doing it. Many of These governors have lost their mind as well as some judges, that’s borderline fascism and that’s scary.
Which in many States governors could care less about, yes, scary and sadly they don’t.

A beach opened on Monday and on Tuesday it was a bounced that deaths were up because of the “beach reopening”.
it’s what we are dealing with. It’s way too late to start putting ankle bracelets on people. If we planned to do that we should have done it to all the people who left New York during the height of the pandemic there.
but I’m sure they only plan to put these on known conservatives.

@known conservatives
Easily identified by the tinfoil headgear?
What about the unknown conservatives?
Blacklabel
Easily identified by the data that liberal tech companies gather about each and every one of us.
Same tech companies that will be involved in the tracking and tracing aspects of coronavirus as well any huse arrest technology.
Go for a job in 5 years? They can know you were under house arrest for Coronavirus and you dont get hired. Wont happen? watch.
TorafusuTorasan
Alrighty, get back to us in five years after you locate the Covid blacklist stored on the HR top secret server.

Kouchi a Japanese-American has handled the pandemic in Hawaii terribly. It is up there with the president's level of poor management and leadership.
The president called himself a "wartime president" a couple a months ago at the beginning of his failed response to the pandemic.
The president will continue to sabotage any real efforts to combat the pandemic unless he can take credit. Otherwise, he will continue to mislead until he can find something else to permanently distracted the public from his mishandling and poor record on this matter.

Yep, mock me now.

You do realize that it is the authoritarians with their push for ever more control on free speech and free movement under the excuse of Corona that try to grab more power? Rethorical question, obviously you dont. Trump hatred above everything.

@blacklabel--you claimed on this site to have employees in and outside Japan. Have you done anything special to shield them from intrusive information gathering?
Ah_so
This type of people often refer back to the founding fathers and the constitution, yet largely have an interpretation of it that was never intended by those who drew it up.
Ah_so
Not clear what you mean, Zaphod. Yes, authoritarians are pushing for more power and it is clear that Trump has an authoritarian streak.
