Better yet would be a multivalent vaccine, such as a live attenuated virus (e.g. Omicron).

Stimulating the immunity against several useless antigens do not make a vaccine multivalent, on the contrary it only makes it less effective because of the multiple non-neutralizing antibodies.

A mistake I've often seen you make is believing that only neutralizing antibodies are relevant. You are completely ignoring cellular immunity. Antibodies to the other antigens also provide important protection, they're far from useless. And you're also ignoring the igAs that RawBeer has mentioned elsewhere.

Speaking of lying, it’s in the news that more than half of the tallied covid cases hospitalized in NYC are people who were admitted for something else, and found to have covid when tested. They were not admitted for covid.

Sounds intelligent enough.

Doesn’t change the fact that media, scientists, politicians and now the courts have cleared lied to us.

If all this were true, they would not need to lie to force compliance.

Yes, very true. The current vaccines need to be updated, they're pretty useless against Omicron.

No, they are not "pretty useless" that is just trying very hard to ignore the evidence that clearly prove their value at preventing heavy disease or even death from Omicron infection. It has already been proved the protection against it is still effective.

Stimulating the immunity against several useless antigens do not make a vaccine multivalent, on the contrary it only makes it less effective because of the multiple non-neutralizing antibodies. Also Omicron has been demonstrated to be less effective than a booster from the actual vaccines at protecting people, that proves that it is not only much less safe than the current vaccines, it is also less effective at protecting people from the other variants. An "attenuated virus" vaccine that causes as much hospitalizations as Omicron does would be a failure that would be rejected as soon as the clinical trials make this clear.

The vaccine was designed for the original variant. The virus has since mutated quite a bit. It offers some projection but an updated vaccine may be needed.

Yes, very true. The current vaccines need to be updated, they're pretty useless against Omicron. But by the time an Omicron based vaccine is made available, that variant will be long gone...

That is a great limitation of these monovalent vaccines, variants quickly make them irrelevant.

Dispense with the kangaroo paw compo fakery; universal income here we come!

Thing is, every winter (year) virtually the entire world catches a cold or influenza. Sometimes once or several times. The only difference now is that we are tracking a specific virus and its variants. I bet you there have been much more lethal coronaviruses (compared to Omicron) in the past that weren't tracked. People just went on with their lives.

Looks like most of the people present mild symptoms.

The image of being quite a partying country

lol, this is far from the truth. Australia is really a terrible nanny state. Sydney has the worst nightlife of any major city. And in Melbourne, you cannot even skol a beer at a sporting event without being thrown out.

Why would anyone with minor cold symptoms - or no symptoms at all - want to get tested? Is there a requirement or mandate in Oz to get tested? Are they hypochondriacs?

So then they queue up for hours in the summer temperatures to be able to be told to go home and isolate, or come back again for another test in a few days?

I like the Japanese way, where you have to convince the sensei that you are sick enough to warrant a test. i have a hypochondriac in my office. She would test every day if she could, or if she could afford it (through a commercial location.)

26,478 results were from uploaded rat tests in Victoria. Boom

Victoria’s doubling of numbers was people uploading their positive rapid antigen tests, not the backlog of pcr fools! Let’s upload ours here ha? No thanks. Grab your test kit before they sell out here.

Eastman - Demonstrably false, if this was the case vaccinated people would be infected more easiliy than unvaccinated people, in reality the opposite is what is happening, and even more, unvaccinated people are hugely more likely to complicate, get hospitalized and die. This proves that vaccines do not damage the immune system as you mistakenly believe, but instead help against the infection.

Wow! Where did you get this information? In your head? The vaccines were never designed to stop the spread of the virus. In fact, it’s impossible to stop the spread of the virus. The vaccines are designed to boost your immune system and stop you ending up in the ICU or dead.

another proof that vaccines are not working as expected as even vaccinated people are getting infected

Some Vaccinated are getting infected yes.

/maybe because their own natural immune system was damaged by vaccines?highly likely yes/.

No. No.

Give me a break mate.

there is a very effective solution if you don't want mistaken/false statements of yours to be corrected, and that is not to make them in the first place. This way everybody benefits.

Almost no masks, no distancing…the photographs illustrate how they don’t abide to anything and intentionally invite the viruses. No one there should be astonished about rising infection numbers and the following related problems and death tolls. The image of being quite a partying country doesn’t seem to be so completely false. Btw. No.1 alcohol consumption there too, so it’s all a bit related in sum.

There seem to be a lot of "rare breakthrough cases" happening.

So are reinfections, that is what it was warned from the beginning could happen with variants.

He said the high number of self-reported cases “is in many respects exactly what we wanted to happen.”

I am generally healthy and except during times I smoked cigarettes have mostly been so, but having had colds and the flu and been kept from work because I was so ill, I would never say: "in many respects exactly what we wanted to happen.”

Even if he's saying that to the anti-vaxxers to try to shame them; I would not want them or anyone else to get sick with even mild cold symptoms. Those who constantly try to minimize the effects of this virus in any of its forms sound like sadists.

3 ( +8 / -5 )

Just follow the Japanese way. Keep testing as low as possible and just for the really ill. Notice how no Japanese politicians ever seem to get the virus unlike in Australia. Avoid having the 6 hour testing super spreader queues. (Maybe people could spend their time more productively.) 99% of cases are mild cold/flu symptoms or nothing and are better in 3-4 day, Countless more never get tested anyhow and never know they even had it.

The number of official case are lower meaning the economy is not facing staff shortages now causing food shortages and problems in hospitals and other areas in Australia. The fear panic factor is also far less which is better for people's mental health.
