NK is a nuclear power now due to Trump letting them become just that.

First of it is the DPRK. Second of all North Korea showed an interest in developing nuclear weapons since the 1950s. The nuclear program can be traced back to about 1962, when North Korea committed itself to what it called "all-fortressization", which was the beginning of the hyper-militarized North Korea of today. In 1963, North Korea asked the Soviet Union for help in developing nuclear weapons, but was refused. The Soviet Union agreed to help North Korea develop a peaceful nuclear energy program, including the training of nuclear scientists. Later, China, after its nuclear tests, similarly rejected North Korean requests for help with developing nuclear weapons.

Soviet engineers took part in the construction of the Yongbyon Nuclear Scientific Research Center and began construction of an IRT-2000 research reactor in 1963, which became operational in 1965 and was upgraded to 8 MW in 1974. In 1979, North Korea began to build a second research reactor in Yongbyon, as well as an ore processing plant and a fuel rod fabrication plant.

North Korea's nuclear weapons program dates back to the 1980s. Focusing on practical uses of nuclear energy and the completion of a nuclear weapon development system, North Korea began to operate facilities for uranium fabrication and conversion, and conducted high-explosive detonation tests. In 1985 North Korea ratified the NPT but did not include the required safeguards agreement with the IAEA until 1992. In early 1993, while verifying North Korea's initial declaration, the IAEA concluded that there was strong evidence this declaration was incomplete. When North Korea refused the requested special inspection, the IAEA reported its noncompliance to the UN Security Council. In 1993, North Korea announced its withdrawal from the NPT, but suspended that withdrawal before it took effect. On October 9, 2006, North Korea demonstrated its nuclear capabilities with its first underground nuclear test, detonating a plutonium based device with an estimated yield of 0.2–1 kilotons. In short. No matter what the USA and any administration throws at Un family. The will never give up developing nuclear weapons. As long as Un family is running the regime pursuing nuclear weapons is sickness and an addiction of the whole regime. Bolton has valid points.

Bolton states- "The risk to U.S. forces & our allies is imminent. Yes absolutely it is. The threat that Osan base Japan bases and even Guam. All of South Korea and Japan are with in first strike yardage is a serious threat from a very unstable regime. We have be living with it since the armistice. Its just the way it is. We have just become numb to the DPRK threats. Have we not? Trump has failed with the DPRK. But so did every other Presdeint trying to get somewhere with the hermit kingdom. Going to war with the DPRK is blood bath waiting to happen. What needs to happen is a revolution. The North Korean civilians and general public need to rise up and take the country for the first time. And over thew the the current government and leadership.

Bolton also states- Should North Korea conduct a major test or make some other significant provocation after the ultimatum expires, Bolton said he hopes Washington will acknowledge its mistake and say, "We've tried. The policy's failed."

The Trump administration admitting the policy has failed? We you see, that is going to be a bit of problem.

this dude is a paranoid schizophrenic and a war monger... why is he given a media voice at all

Because Trump appointed him as his Security Advisor. Not hard to understand.

I told y'all I don't know how many times Trump had his pit bull on a short leash. When it came time to get rid of him he got rid of him.

NK is a nuclear power now due to Trump letting them become just that.

Wrong. NK carried out its first nuclear test in 2006 when W was president. Unfortunately W kicked the can down to Obama who kicked the can down to Trump who is dealing with it.

the US is left with no choice but to take them down despite China or Russia intrusion.

Where do people come up with stuff? NK is a nuclear power now due to Trump letting them become just that. They are untouchable. It is one thing to invade Afghanistan and quite another a nuclear power.. Wow, no wonder people like Trump get elected.

re article: "The risk to U.S. forces & our allies is imminent & more effective policy is required before NK has the technology to threaten the American homeland," tweeted Bolton

A bit behind the times, the tech is already in their hands, just need the time to put it together.

re post: Donald Trump cannot made extortion at North Korea by sanctioning "Tariffs" over that country! North Korea has nothing to export to USA!

While that may be the case, sanctioning also applies to other countries who do sell to the NK and vice versa. In some case it does involve US goods getting to NK via these channels.

re article: "We've tried. The policy's failed."

Can understand why Bolton is at odds with POTUS as once again behind the curve. Once this policy has failed the US has no more excuses as to proceed with a direct upfront confrontation with NK. Talks via backdoor channels have failed. Sanctions have failed, and now direct dialogue too has failed, the US is left with no choice but to take them down despite China or Russia intrusion. Aside that recently Russia is miffed that China stole Russian technology and is upset calling China its worst oil pipeline customer. The trade off will be sacrificing NK for HK and possibly Taiwan. Russia will seek to get deeper in the Middle East and Ukraine.

Former U.S. national security adviser John Bolton on Monday sharply criticized President Donald Trump's North Korea policy, warning that the Asian country posed an "imminent" threat.

Oh, this will make Donnie's Christmas in Mar-A Lago so much more enjoyable....

He can spend the whole vacation steaming as his former NSA, John "The Disaster" Bolton, roasts his failed nK policy...

So say something back Donnie - call him "a dog", or "an enemy of the people" - use one of your go-to insults for your previous admin picks who tell it like it is...

Goad John into coming forth and telling us all about that "drug deal"...
