Fox "News" just lost one of the very few people it had that possessed any integrity. Good on you, Mr. Smith.
Chip Star
One can't be fired if they've resigned.
bass4funk
Thank God, now we can all have peace. Good move on FNC.
Jimizo
But isn’t Smith a good counterweight to the likes of Hannity who went on stage supporting Trump?
Serrano
Fox "News" just lost one of the very few people it had that possessed any integrity.
The other one with any integrity is Donna Brazile, right? You know, the one who gave Hillary the debate questions.
bass4funk
Yup.

After watching a few minutes of Hannity, Carlson, and Ingraham over the past week, I can understand why Shep couldn't take any more of the pure, unadulterated BS...
Trumpers just lost one of the few remaining voices of sanity on an insane network...
Rupert must have figured with all the damning info coming out on Trump, he couldn't have someone who would actually report the true facts.
Expect to hear more Obama, Hillary, Biden, Deep State, Bigfoot, QAnon, Flat Earth, Area 51 Aliens, etc....
bass4funk
Not really. You have other liberals that listen present the news and listen to reason and facts. Shep wasn’t one of them. Shep was also a hard news guy, so it wasn’t his job to give his opinion, if he wanted to do that, then he would have needed to talk to management and get a show in the prime time slot then it would be ok. If Ailes were alive Shep would have been in trouble.
Jimizo
Ailes was a disgraceful man who set the low tone for this appalling network.
Chip Star
You care about objective reporting, but not from hard news people? This means you want objective reporting from opinion reporters. Smooth.
False analogy given Donny's the president and he's sided with Russia over our intelligence agencies. Smooth.
bass4funk
Yeah, liberals would say that, I disagree.
bass4funk
Yes, but No, that’s not their job description or in their contract.
bass4funk
I am, that’s WHY I’m saying what I just said, but I’m telling you, Shep went over his pay grade in not reporting straight news and leaving the opinions to the Prime time hosts. Again, if he wanted to do that, fine. Change your job description and time slot, if not, stick to your job description and report the news. Harris Faulkner does it as well as Julie Banderas in their perspective time slots.
Chip Star
You've told us you were retired. Which is it? Please chose one and stick with it.
goldorak
Imo blokes like Smith are part of the problem. The whole us media circus has always been more about the anchor than the news.
bass4funk
Hmmm...there’s this amazing device called a satellite....
Sneezy
It was Smith’s decision, not FNC’s. They begged him to stay.
By “we can have peace”, you mean “finally, dissenting voices are being silenced”.
bass4funk
They didn’t beg him, they wanted him to stay of course because he is a cash cow for the network that’s indisputable for his time slot, but there were a lot of internal problems with him and other anchors, personality conflicts etc. and he was feeling more isolated politically and socially, it happens on every network. CNN is the king of news doo revolving for years now.
No, because the network has a bunch of dissenting liberal voices compared to CNN or my former network where being a conservative or opinionated one can put you on the endangered list.

I wonder if there's a connection between Smith resigning around the time Rupert Murdoch met with Trump's Attorney General (the other one, not Rudy G).

Chip Star
So he must not have been as bad as you claim.
That get shutdown whenever Fox "News" feels like shitting them down.
Jimizo
Me neither. I know you can get BBC and CNN on Skyperfect but I didn’t know Fox was available. I’ve also stayed in countless business hotels over the years in Japan and I’m pretty sure I never saw it alongside BBC and CNN on the channel options which were often there.
Bass, let us know.
bass4funk
Not on Skyperfect, you’re right.
Because it’s not.
CrazyJoe
Farewell, Shep. You were one of the very few over there who had integrity, and you showed heart, too. I wish you well in the next stage of your career.
It must have been excruciating to try and do straight journalism in a propaganda outlet. Fox's loss.
Now let's find out if Bill Barr's meeting with Rupert Murdoch had anything to do with it.
Jimizo
Would it work for anyone else?
bass4funk
I can, but I don’t need to give out that info.
You can assume whatever you like. I’m perfectly fine with that
No, no falsehoods. I said, what I said and if someone doesn’t believe it, quite alright. I won’t answer to the haters what they want to hear. If you ask me a question, I give you an honest answer that’s all, nothing more.
Strangerland
The removal of a balanced voice results in a louder echo chamber for the pubs.
bass4funk
And he still has a job, but they need someone for their nightly news. Anyway, one less loudmouth Shep is a big win for the network, long overdo.

Serrano:
Spot on. I only know Fox from posted clips, but I did notice that one. They always seemed less in line with the globalist propaganda chorus, but apparently have changed their policy recently. George Soros must be smiling.
Serrano
Fox News isn't available in Japan. So how can people comment on a station which isn't available?
There's this thing called Youtube. The anti-Trumpers really ought to watch my links, they might learn something. Like this one:
Gingrich: We're close to a cultural civil war
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQRq4nSpYLk
bass4funk
That’s not quite entirely true.
Serrano
After watching a few minutes of Hannity, Carlson, and Ingraham over the past week, I can understand why Shep couldn't take any more of the pure, unadulterated BS...
Could you cite one example of something that Hannity, Carlson and Ingraham said that was pure unadulterated BS? We'll be waiting. In the meantime:
Trump speaks to media during meeting with Chinese officials

nishikat
Maybe Hannity and Carlson quit and make a 24/7 H&C network. They will never turn on Trump. What do you think? It seems FOX News is going down the toilet. But Hannity and Carlson are 100% loyal and Trump gets all his advice from them. Forget FOX News. FOX News is finished but Hannity, Carlson, and Friends can live on.
lincolnman
Really ought to watch your links? That's like Rev Jim Jones asking you to drink his kool-aid....
Gingrich is a certified nut job just like Rudy - there's a good reason he was tossed out of Congress in disgrace....
Everything the say is pure, unadulterated BS, but you want just one - Seth Rich...and it came straight from Russia...
https://www.newsweek.com/seth-rich-conspiracy-russian-intel-fox-news-sean-hannity-1448331
What? Did he ask them to investigate Biden again, then deny it?
bass4funk
What?
Huh?
Newsweek? Oh...lol....
lincolnman
As I've been saying for the past several days, the Trumpers here have really lost their mojo - it seems all the evidence against Trump has put them in a funk and they're resigned to his defeat - they just offer one word replies or rhetorical questions that have nothing of substance.
Pitiful - but we can all understand...he confessed to a quid-pro-quo in the transcript, his crazy criminal lawyer is melting down, and officials are jumping ship left and right. They've finally realized Trump is toast.
lostrune2
Rupert Murdoch's son and head of Fox News is not as enamored with Trump as much as his father was
Norman Goodman
It would be a commendable move if it had not taken so very very long.
My forgiveness for the damage he has helped do to the nation will require a sincere apology and some solid action against that foul network.....not that I think the other networks are clean mind you its just the FOX is so clearly the worst.
