France hits back at Russia over Syria bombing campaign.

Like France has been doing a better job? One thing is for sure, any actions that take away ISIS ability to make money, is a far better stratidgy than what France and the US have been doing so far.

“The French strikes against oil sites controlled by Daesh (Islamic State) are part of legitimate self-defense,”

If the French are striking oil sites, then so be it. They're at war. It is up to the french to decide what is targeted and what isn't. Did the terrorists think twice before cutting down all those concertgoers with their fully loaded AK47's in Paris??

@Stuard Hayward"Like France has been doing a better job?"

Indeed. The whole story with "French air strikes" looks out funny. They have no any effective control of radical islamists inside a country. What kind of weaponry and bombers they provide in Syria and Iraq ? By comparison, Russia has heavy bombers, both tactical and strategical, guided bombs and cruise missiles of various sorts. Russian reconnaissance satellites provide real-time information. Any French attempts to fight ISIS are incomparable by any scale. Besides, after known story with Mistral amphibious assault ships, Russians consider French rather foes than allies.

Yamashi I would like you to tell me how Russia is controlling and fighting Daesh in Syria... All they want is to keep their base in Syria and that is why they support Bachar. Your comments so far are so stupid...

Currently, the U.S. isn't bombing the ISIS oil fields.

But if Donald Trump becomes U.S. President, he says he's going to bomb those oil fields.

Syria never declared war on France. What they are doing is illegal like anyone else who is in Syria who is going in without Assad's invitation. The trouble in Paris has nothing to do with Syria.

I can't understand why Russia puts up with the interference, especially from the country that would not hand over the Mistral ships that Russia ordered. Putin is not stupid and I am sure that he has his plans already worked out. Putin is always far ahead of everyone.

And to " Burgundy " Of course Russia will protect it's base in Syria which they have had for years. They can hardly expect to protect their base with terrorists running amok in Syria. So it is alright for France to bomb in Syria but not right for Russia to protect their assets.

I imagine that Russia has avoided bombing important inrfanstructure like the oil fields because Syria will need them for their income in the future. The point is, if they get rid of the terrorists they won't be there to use them.

Look what USA did. Bombed Syria's power plant. I suppose people will be happy to see ordinary Syrian people suffer. Yah!, Let's take out the water supplies next, we cant let Isis have water to drink.

@Burgundy"I would like you to tell me how Russia is controlling and fighting Daesh in Syria".

Well, Russia need not to "control Daesh". The creation of ISIS is a direct result of western intervention in ME politics. War in Iraq, bombings of Libya etc. Recently ISIS representatives have confirmed that some of their field commanders were killed by Russian airstrikes. In case if you still aren't aware, Russia is fighting ISIS right now by massive airstrikes on ISIS communication lines, oil depots and command centres. Russia uses naval forces and air forces, including strategic bombers. All information one could see on YouTube and web site of Russian Ministry of Defence . Little frog should grow a slightly bigger brain before starting to croak.

Bombing alone won't be enough to dislodge ISIS. Eventually, ground troops would have to come in, like what the Kurds are doing successfully.

Recently ISIS representatives have confirmed that some of their field commanders were killed by Russian airstrikes.

Citation please.

Meanwhile, Russia is dropping bombs emblazoned with "For Paris" on IS jihadists.
