say they want to die as martyrs

Death comes to everyone, sooner or later. But these 2 won't be martyrs. They are stupid cowards who believe that a book written 1300 years ago is the perfect word of an invisible creator deity, and who killed people for ridiculing this notion.

French massacre suspects cornered with hostage; say they want to die as martyrs

They should have been arrested years ago and sent into a deep dark hole.

That whole "70 virgins" thing was a ploy made up as a way to get guys to join the conquests (read your old history books), and unfortunately, it still works today. But, a split second after they die as martyrs, they're gonna wish they hadn't.

Well, Paris has changed because of this, it may not be safe for islam in that country

I am, of course, inclined along the same thoughts. To a point. And that point is where my reason defeats my desire for vengeance. Specifically, we, or rather the police and the counter terrorism people, need to know how these men succeeded. Clearly, the men who did this are dangerous and capable. Not like the underwear bomber.

That is why it is best to capture and study them, to learn as much from them as possible. What makes them tick, what set them off, and how they accomplished what many others like them have not been able to do: a very successful terrorist attack.

Second, there is the issue of martyrdom. These two men need to be brought down, de-mythified, before they are put to death, were that allowed.

A dead martyr is a dangerous thing.

So, let them rot. Let people see them in all their simple degraded humanity.

And then kill them.

The terrorists are all dead now. I like the French, they don't play around when it comes down to getting their man. Vive la France!

Not all dead.

French authorities are still looking for Hayat Boumeddiene, a woman believed to be an accomplice, who was described as armed and dangerous.

Hopefully, she is killed or caught without more innocent deaths.

On another note, Coulibaly took hostages at a Kosher supermarket, killing four of them. Nothing to do with Islam, I am sure....

Now that the 2 brothers, subhumans that they were, are dead, the world is hopefully at least a little safer and is, inarguably, a better place. Good riddance to bad rubbish!

subhumans that they were

That is an error. They are all to human. People can be savage.

And such talk is the kind of thing that leads to, well, exactly the kind of thing these terrorists did, namely murder and terrorism. And given the chance, genocide.

In short, your statement is both factually wrong and dangerous.

Very sad moments indeed. Could not imagine the kind of better future that these brothers can actually build for themselves and their family. Their own religious indoctrination had gone far and had done enough harm to their own. The question is when are they going to realise it.

" The question is when are they going to realise it. "

No, the question is when WE are going to realize it. "IT" being the fact we can not address the issue of islamic terror without addressing islamic teaching. With radical mosques sprouting all over Europe, Europe will only see more of this. And shooting the Jihadis after event does not do anything.... they welcome the chance to die as martyrs and go to paradise. Keep in mind these are the same people who routinely strap on suicide bomb wests and blow themselves up almost daily in Iraq and Syria.
