Tens of millions over 300 infections?
virusrex
That is the problem when the government chooses policy according to the degree of control they can get over the population instead of the recommendation of the best experts on dealing with pandemics.
Vaccines and treatment are letting the world gradually reduce the risk from covid so infections do not become cases of the disease so often, and patients do not complicate or die as before, controlling the disease no longer requires such strong sacrifices. But in China it still does.
Then again it seems that the CCP is giving up with their zero covid policy and is trying some "stealth" living with covid approach instead, about half a year after the rest of the world.

Hmm. millions under lockdown, as opposed to millions dying.
The government has to make a tough choice.

When there are countries where there are neither millions unders lockdown nor millions dying the argument is obviously defeated. There is no need to have unsustainable and retrograde measures to protect the population other countries having a lower death rate compared with China clearly demonstrate this fact.

Yet, coming into
Japan with the ‘3-jab-lot’ ensures no tracing,no quarantine and no antigen test.
It’s a fact that the Japanese shots are not specific enough to counter the new variants.
Japan never swings the right way and as cases rise here, Japan will stupidly follow China…
Seigi
Japan should follow China's effective policy against Covid 19.

Or, with a verifiable source, the argument is won:
Deaths:
6,364,661
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
And, another argument is won with a verifiable source (unless you still believe Antarctica is a country---do you still believe that?) showing China has the lowest death rate:

virusrex
The huge reduction of death rates clearly contradicts your belief,
Which country is this supposed to come from? lots of contries in your source have extremely low death rates, a few dozens have rates lower than China (once the reporting is adequated to the same way China does, by eliminating the 90 to 95% of those deaths if they have any other disease) any country with a count of 15 cases per million or lower would then be doing better than China (Taiwan, Nicaragua, Haiti, two dozen African countries...). And since none of them have a zero covid policy it is then demonstrated you can avoid having millions of deaths without having millions under lockdown either.
Why bring two sources that completely discredits your argument? is this a roundabout way to recognized your mistake?
painkiller
Let's nip this in the bud.
Do you still believe Antarctica is a country?
Antartica is not the only country that have a lower death rate than China

When you ignore the arguments that disprove your beliefs and concentrate on semantics you are conceding that you can't refute them, you accept they are right, prove you are mistaken and you can't do anything to deny them.
Antartica is not the only one in the list of countries that surpass China, so since other countries have lower death rates (specially once equalized to the same reporting system) this proves China did not need to lockdown millions of people to prevent deaths, other countries have been able to do the same without lockdowns.
Do you have any argument to refute this? or are you going to concentrate on grammatical mistakes next?
virusrex
You mean when lockdowns actually were useful against less transmissible variants and vaccines were not available? yeah, two years have passed since then.
Experts also praised amputations as the way of saving lives when limbs were infected before antibiotics were invented, if a doctor insisted on doing the same right now they would not be so understanding.
painkiller
Sticking with the "Antarctica is a country", so obviously something out of whack here.
You also stated that natural immunity is preferable to vaccination to reduce infections.
Rodney
please compare China population to death ratio. Then USA population to death ratio.
virusrex
Sorry if you have trouble understanding the difference between a place being included in a list of countries and the place being a country.
It is still irrelevant to the argument that debunked your mistaken idea. Other countries have lower death rates than China, so there is no need to put forward draconian measures if other countries can have better results without them.
You mean the thing that came completely out of your imagination and that you have never proved actually happened? that is not an argument, it is a false excuse, also irrelevant to the argument.
So, can you argue against the perfectly valid argument or semantics is all you have left?

China still hasn't distributed mRNA vaccines. Does anyone doubt that the top level party members have had several doses themselves?

China is too regimented. The US too free and political. Japan is the best: restrictions, rule-abiding, cooperation and common sense.
