I came in here as a nice person wanting to answer questions and I had people jumping out of their seats screaming questions at me.

Yes. This is the definition of a "press conference." Trump is being treated no differently than previous presidents, all of whom occasionally complained, but none of whom took it personally because they understood the role of the press.

Poor wilting flower.

22 ( +40 / -18 )

Trump calling anyone a bad person is beyond the pale.

Master businesspeople are cool under pressure. Need I say more?

19 ( +31 / -12 )

"It's such a hostile media,"

He says while his personal TV station Fox 'news' carries on pushing pro-Trump, anti-opposition messages, as do Breitbart, infowars, RT/Sputnik and other rightist outlets. Trump and his supporters continue to undermine any outlets in the free, for-profit press that don't agree with him. He's aping Putin, Erdogan, Xi, MbS and other despots who control their totalitarian state's media..

is so insulting to me," he said. "It's a very terrible thing you said to me."

He's melting down ala Kavanaugh. Trump's unfit for office, just like Kavanaugh's unfit for the SC.

16 ( +29 / -13 )

So we just ignore Acosta karate chopping the woman to try to keep the microphone. Ok then.

-20 ( +20 / -40 )

No mention of the foreign reporters (one japanese) who Trump "couldn't understand" because of their accents.

He complains about other people, but can't help being disrespectful to others.

18 ( +27 / -9 )

@blackbal So we just ignore Acosta karate chopping the woman to try to keep the microphone. Ok then.

Are you equating a reporter with the US President? It's pretty clear Trump supporters are having problems defending him when their defense is based on distract, dismiss, deflect and distance.

The positive I take when Trump supporters clutch straws is it indicates they're nearing the end of their support for him. As they should - if they want to maintain the remaining bits of US democracy and not allow Trump and his fellow elite .01%ers take total control.

8 ( +18 / -10 )

CNN has found to be mismanaging the facts and even ‘manufacturing’ the news according to its own agenda.

Acosta doesn’t ask pertinent questions. CNN has him there to annoy Trump.

Most Americans would not be thrilled when a group of foreigners intend to try and illegally enter the US,is on the way,but Acosta seems to be!

Then becoming unruly and refusing to allow others to speak?

The White House staff should have brought out the tazer......

-22 ( +14 / -36 )

Nope instead of handing the mic over after his one allotted question he physically assaulted a woman. Watch the video.

-24 ( +13 / -37 )

All attention seeking reporters need discipline.

Acosta should not be able to be physically present!

Rather, he should have his question read out by another journalist.

Petulant children are not welcome at the White House!

-18 ( +10 / -28 )

Oh this video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VwRrcVxjms

Lol. Karate chop

25 ( +27 / -2 )

@kurispu Acosta should not be able to be physically present!

Based on what? Having done something illegal? Free market principles?

Trump's anti-media tirades, which is really anti-media who don't push his agendas and sing his praises, should concern anyone who values democratic principles and free speech.

Let the laws and the market decide which outlets should be limited.

Unless you want a state controlled media like Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, Saudi Arabia and other totalitarian states have.

Racists love to attack falsely the opponents of racism for being racist themselves.

Case in point:

President Trump on Wednesday called a black reporter’s question about his self-professed nationalism “racist."

The president cut off Yamiche Alcindor of the PBS Newshour at a news conference after she asked whether his embrace of “nationalism” is bolstering white nationalists.

“Trump interrupted her, calling it a racist question."

It was not a racist question. Racism is the belief that one race is superior. Questioning racists is not racist.

10 ( +20 / -10 )

Not at all.

When reporters disregard the rule of ‘one question’ then that takes time away from other reporters with valid questions.

Acosta went on an endless tirade of question after question disregarding the venue’s rules and making a mockery of himself.

It is that simple.....

-16 ( +8 / -24 )

@haaN Lol. Karate chop

Thanks for the video. After watching it it's clear by calling that a karate chop Trump backers are resorting to alternative facts, fake news, distortions, or maybe just showing their delicateness.

20 ( +25 / -5 )

It's kind of funny to watch the media ask Trump a question and he just goes off. You? Oh, I don't like you! And you're fake news! And you're mean to me! And your network is bad!

The non-college educated portion of his base goes crazy for emotional outbursts like that. They see whining and complaining and victimization as strength since a billionaire is doing it.

16 ( +23 / -7 )

Thanks for the video. After watching it it's clear by calling that a karate chop Trump backers are resorting to alternative facts, fake news, distortions, or maybe just showing their delicateness.

IKR. I mean... he wouldn't have had to defend himself with a karate chop if she didn't launch a vicious and prolonged attack.

16 ( +18 / -2 )

Well you guys claim trump “pushed” a world leader with less physical contact than that.

so now you support men physically struggling with a woman over control of a microphone. That’s just special.

-21 ( +7 / -28 )

Acosta wouldn’t give the mike up.

He is not the only journalist in the room is he now........

-17 ( +6 / -23 )

BlacklabelToday  09:14 am JST

so now you support men physically struggling with a woman over control of a microphone. That’s just special

I haven't read anyone 'support' what Accosta did, instead I've read posters, including myself, question your calling it a 'karate chop'.

Great, though, to see you coming out to defend a woman you thought had been wronged. Progress, one step at a time.

16 ( +19 / -3 )

Well you guys claim trump “pushed” a world leader with less physical contact than that.

Claim? No, that is precisely what he did. See below.

https://youtu.be/vIdrTSjzGKY

I don't think anyone accused the president of assault, but it certainly shows how much of a maroon Donny is.

so now you support men physically struggling with a woman over control of a microphone. That’s just special.

Theyre wouldnt have been a struggle if she hadnt have assaulted him first.

11 ( +15 / -4 )

He should have given back the microphone when asked.....

-13 ( +6 / -19 )

He should have given back the microphone when asked.....

I agree.

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

Karate chopping

Can we please leave the lying, oh sorry, hyperbole, to the President of the US? Keep it honest. Acosta was wrong but it wasn’t a karate chop and you know it.

What’s Trump’s favourite media outlets’ take on this? Hannity calling it a decapitation with a chainsaw? The National Enquirer claiming Acosta helped Bigfoot and his family vote illegally?

I’ve got no time for CNN but Trump gets his news from Fox, cites the National Enquirer and retweets crap floating around on the net.

Trump needs to clean up his own lavatorial media tastes.

12 ( +15 / -3 )

Yes. This is the definition of a "press conference." Trump is being treated no differently than previous presidents,

No, Trump is being treated very differently than any other president buy this hostile medium and extremely combative and it almost looked like Jim was going to get his butt kicked. The thing is, these guys are never going to win because Trump is not going to bow down to them and tell tale to their demands, it’s just not going to happen, so if Jean wants to act like an idiot and try to take on the person each time, then he can always expect some blowback, it’s that simple.

all of whom occasionally complained, but none of whom took it personally

Like Acosta?

-16 ( +8 / -24 )

Racists love to attack falsely the opponents of racism for being racist themselves.

The man is not a racist, come on you guys. You guys don’t get tired to desperately trying to drive that false narrative, every single time?

President Trump on Wednesday called a black reporter’s question about his self-professed nationalism “racist."

So being an American Nationalist is racist? Really? How? I’m an American Nationalist and I’m not racist, I know people of all shades of color and political affiliations, so what’s wrong or racist about it? I’ll give you some time to figure that one out.

The president cut off Yamiche Alcindor of the PBS Newshour at a news conference after she asked whether his embrace of “nationalism” is bolstering white nationalists.

Because it was an absurd question, I would have cut her off as well, totally undignified question.

“Trump interrupted her, calling it a racist question."

Yes.

It was not a racist question.

Wait, it wasn’t a racist question, but the left are accusing the President of racism without a shred of evidence, but he’s not allowed to define what he is because the left aren’t satisfied with the answer? They’re prejudging, now that’s a racist thing to do.

Racism is the belief that one race is superior. Questioning racists is not racist.

Assuming that someone is racist is racist in itself.

-16 ( +7 / -23 )

undignified

Bass, as a Trump supporter, are you sure you want to talk about the virtue of dignity?

14 ( +18 / -4 )

Bass, as a Trump supporter, are you sure you want to talk about the virtue of dignity?

Most definitely.

I’ve got no time for CNN but Trump gets his news from Fox, cites the National Enquirer and retweets crap floating around on the net.

The last administration got their news mostly from msnbc and CNN.

Trump needs to clean up his own lavatorial media tastes.

I think especially now he needs to ratchet it up.

-14 ( +7 / -21 )

Bass, as a Trump supporter, are you sure you want to talk about the virtue of dignity?

Most definitely

Do you remember Trump tweeting a very unflattering picture of Ted Cruz’s wife next to a photo of Melania?

Asking his followers to check out a non-existent sex tape?

Citing a story from the National Enquirer implicating Ted Cruz’s father in the JFK assassination?

We can go on all day...

Trump will go down to the sewer. It seems a bit hypocritical to expect better from the media.

It’s shocking that people defend Trump’s sub-tabloid rancid trash.

10 ( +13 / -3 )

"CNN should be ashamed of itself having you work for them," the president said. "You are a rude, terrible person. You shouldn't be working for CNN. The way you treat Sarah Sanders is horrible. The way you treat other people is horrible. You shouldn't treat people that way."

The Great Orange Celebrity again shows us his Jerry Lewis impression - "You're a bad man...."

He just doesn't have the guts or courage to stand and take a few tough questions from a reporter - typical of someone that got five deferments to get out of combat in Vietnam.  Or maybe he just lacks the intellectual capacity to understand and answer them.

Reminds me of Putin when he gets some tough questions from a Western reporter - he gets all red-faced and angry.  I guess it's a trait all petty authoritarian dictators share...

9 ( +12 / -3 )

Acosta is now blocked from entering the White House.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2018/11/08/white-house-suspends-press-pass-cnns-jim-acosta-after-testy-exchange-with-trump/?utm_term=.2c3326652cf1

6 ( +7 / -1 )

I don't understand why Trump take questions sessions like this. It is clear that American media, led by CNN has an agenda of portraying anyone in the WH as a criminal with a blank check, as long as they are Republicans. Trump doesn't need this sort of aggression from leftwing journalists, who choose words carefully to make a case against him. The exchange about illegal immigrants makes it clear. CNN stinks.

-8 ( +7 / -15 )

Racists love to attack falsely the opponents of racism for being racist themselves.

Now there's a self-incriminating statement if I have ever heard one.

I thought the election turned out well. The Dems will use the House as a platform to attack Trump, completely forgetting about doing anything constructive (except lining their pockets). They will accomplish nothing except to bury themselves in the 2020 election. Waters will retire a wealthy woman, her fortune made in "public service" just like Harry Reid. And the left will never question it, except for a few who will be disparaged as "Trump lovers."

And CNN will be a home shopping network by then.

-7 ( +7 / -14 )

Let's be honest, Acosta is the Trump of cable news. A pompous blowhard who is more about show than substance.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

We can go on all day...

Put Trump is not a reporter, big difference.

Trump will go down to the sewer.

My man! When in Rome.

It seems a bit hypocritical to expect better from the media.

They report, they’re supposed to be and if they take crack shots at the President, he will fire back, that simple.

It’s shocking that people defend Trump’s sub-tabloid rancid trash.

I find it shocking that people will make excuse for the media’s outlandish attacks on the President and think it’s justifiable every single time.

-8 ( +6 / -14 )

Acosta is now blocked from entering the White House.

That’s his own fault. It didn’t have to go down like this, you could’ve at least respected the president and still been the respective reporter, but he chose to gutter snipe the President every chance he got and now this, it’s his own fault.

CNN stinks.

Absolutely and 100% spot on!

-13 ( +6 / -19 )

This is second best piece of news I heard today behind Sessions being fired. First, Sleepy and then Dopey.

Bravo, President Trump!!!

-12 ( +8 / -20 )

A pompous blowhard who is more about show than substance.

Wow, you just described almost every right wing journalist, pundit, or talking head - but that comment really nails Hannity and Limbaugh...

7 ( +11 / -4 )

What bothers me is that the rest of the press are too weak to band together, and refuse to report on the whitehouse if the white house is not willing to accept that a free press is a requirement of a healthy, non-dictatorial country. If Trump and co are willing to do this to one reporter, they are manipulating the press, and removing its freedoms. This should be absolutely condemned by anyone with respect for the integrity of the media, whom I thought would include reporters at the level of white house reporting. But I guess greed and fear will convince the others to keep their mouths shut instead of banding together. Weak.

10 ( +14 / -4 )

I just watched this video - Trump is like a petulant child. Whining about rudeness, when there was nothing rude in the question whatsoever, the president just isn't intelligent enough to be able to defend his position in real time.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

CNN reporter's press pass suspended

As he deserved...

He was being disruptive and disrespectful.

Contrary to popular belief, intelligent questions

do get answered.

No mention of the foreign reporters (one japanese) who Trump "couldn't understand" because of their accents.

He complains about other people, but can't help being disrespectful to others.

The reporter was unintelligible.

President Trump was not rude, he was truthful.

-13 ( +4 / -17 )

No, Trump is being treated very differently than any other president buy this hostile medium and extremely combative

Nope.

Conservatives have more excuses than 7 year-olds when it comes to Trump. Try taking responsibility for your own actions. Granted, Trump hasn't done that in 72 years, but there is no reason the rest of you have to follow suit.

8 ( +12 / -4 )

Assault is assault especially when that act of violence is broadcast on national TV. Acosta is very lucky he only had press pass pulled. Had he gotten what he really deserved after attacking that female White House intern, he'd be in the hospital right now.

-16 ( +4 / -20 )

This is second best piece of news I heard today behind Sessions being fired. First, Sleepy and then Dopey.

Only conservatives in the bubble that aren't getting enough oxygen would applaud this type of attack on the media. So much for respecting the First Amendment.

9 ( +12 / -3 )

Assault is assault especially when that act of violence is broadcast on national TV. Acosta is very lucky he only had press pass pulled. Had he gotten what he really deserved after attacking that female White House intern, he'd be in the hospital right now.

Gotta love Internet tough guys. Yee-Haw in Hee-Haw!

4 ( +8 / -4 )

What bothers me is that the rest of the press are too weak to band together

There can be only two answers to that: (1) Not all the press are patently biased; or (2) They see a rude blowhard and lightweight for what he is, and are at the very least annoyed or more likely sick and tired of one person acting as though he spoke for all, besmirching their own reputation in the process.

Acosta, who is so junior no one really knows this guy, had it coming and he knew it.

-10 ( +4 / -14 )

I can never recall an American president having such a thin skin and finding the need to respond to each and every slight like he was being slapped in the face. The ferocity he responds to these slights is just not right coming from the President of the US. It is far too easy to press his buttons, and with him being Commander in Chief THAT is scary!

10 ( +15 / -5 )

That’s his own fault. It didn’t have to go down like this, you could’ve at least respected the president and still been the respective reporter, but he chose to gutter snipe the President every chance he got and now this, it’s his own fault.

Any president that gutter snipes and disparaged anyone they disagree deserve the exact same in return. You guys cheer Trump for breaking with the decorum of the office, so stop whining when others follow suit.

4 ( +8 / -4 )

Wow, you just described almost every left wing journalist, pundit, or talking head - but that comment really nails Lemon, Cooper and Acosta.

Any president that gutter snipes and disparaged anyone they disagree deserve the exact same in return.

Any reporter disparaging the president in a professional way should also give back with the dish up.

You guys cheer Trump for breaking with the decorum of the office,

No, I did years the media for going overboard with their DTS

so stop whining when others follow suit.

-10 ( +5 / -15 )

As he deserved...

He was being disruptive and disrespectful.

Contrary to popular belief, intelligent questions

do get answered.

It’s just that simple. The left their just out raged dad for the first time you have a republican president not allowing himself to be a piñata for the left.

-7 ( +6 / -13 )

It’s just that simple. The left their just out raged dad for the first time you have a republican president not allowing himself to be a piñata for the left.

It is just this simple: Journalista aren't allowing themselves to be a piñata for the president. ROFL. Smh. Kuddos.

5 ( +9 / -4 )

CNN "reporters" are intolerable. Shouldn't be allowed to attend WH press conferences as they just waste everyone's time.

-9 ( +6 / -15 )

Every day we get more evidence that conservatives are the "day as I say, not as I do" types. Too effing hilarious.

Once the House starts investigating Trump like the repugs did Hillary, we'll hear more moaning from the cons.

6 ( +10 / -4 )

Baby Donnie needs to get used to answering much tougher questions than this in the upcoming months. Such as, "Where did all this Russian money come from?"

7 ( +10 / -3 )

And the President doing a Mayweather back at them.

So what Acosta did was okay. Why are you whining?

4 ( +8 / -4 )

CNN "reporters" are intolerable. Shouldn't be allowed to attend WH press conferences as they just waste everyone's time.

CNN is doing what Fox does, although as far as I know, they haven’t had any of their staff on stage with their preferred candidate yet.

Trump is a giant bawling baby but we aren’t babies here.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

We can go on all day...

Put Trump is not a reporter, big difference.

He should act in a more dignified way than the media. He’s the US president. You are clearly concerned about the virtue of dignity.

Isn’t it telling that Trump supporters find it so difficult to deal honestly with Trump’s incredibly undignified behaviour? Mention the tweets about Ted Cruz’s wife, non-existent sex tapes, National Enquirer conspiracy trash and you are met with nothing. This trash wasn’t ‘counter-punching’ at the biased MSM, it was the action of a revolting, undignified excuse for a man.

If someone did to me what Trump did to Ted Cruz in totally ridiculing his wife, I’d have found that bitchy, undignified lowlife and punched an apology out of him.

Complaining about undignified behaviour towards Trump is mind blowing.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

On twitter, Sarah Huckasans said something like the WH doesn't tolerate people placing their hands on young women (what Acosta supposedly did, and thus is press pass being revoked).

Yet she works for President Grab-em-by-the-you-know-where.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

@Jimizo

Complaining about undignified behaviour towards Trump is mind blowing.

Trump is the King of Indecency.

And the fact that he is at the top, the trickle down effect is in play.   Many Americans and the world as a whole can see very simply the type of "man" he is and the threat that he imposes on to all of us.  Only those that are easily swayed, for whatever reason, by his rhetoric, believe him to be a man of virtue.  Ignorance is bliss... and certainly transferable, as Trump is demonstrating.

I miss the days reporter just reported the news not slant it and inject themselves into it

-5 ( +6 / -11 )

The Great Orange Imposter continue his war on the US Constitution and Bill Of Rights....

14th Amendment - Birthright Citizenship - "Has got to go...."

1st Amendment - Freedom of the Press - "Hate it - ban that Reporter"

I have no doubt that he will soon move on to The Ten Commandments - Thou Shall Not Commit Adultery - "Woops, already broke that one three times... - let's get rid of it"

1 ( +6 / -5 )

wonder what "news" organization this tool works for... oh big surprise, CNN!

-9 ( +5 / -14 )

If nothing else Trump has certainly got everyone's nickers in lots of knots!

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Ha-Ha....... that’s what he gets for running his jib & acting unprofessional.

-9 ( +2 / -11 )

Obama never insulted a reporter. This orange baboon is making a mockery of the presidency and the Russians are laughing at us, every day.

6 ( +10 / -4 )

Man, Trump is really running scared now. What a coward.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

@dangobn I miss the days reporter just reported the news not slant it and inject themselves into it

Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin (18th century) both complained about slanted news. Are you referring to a time before that?

Trump's supported by the National Enquirer (Tabloid with whack stories like 'My dog's an alien'.) Trump's supported by Fox 'news', which goes out of its way to slant news. I have low regard for both, but would never want to see them restricted, unless they do something illegal. Freedom of speech is fundamental to a properly functioning democracy.

I have the ability to choose what I read and what I believe. Part of the limited freedoms we have left. Worrying so many rightists continue to attack a free, for-profit press,

1 ( +5 / -4 )

LOL didn't he really suspended Acosta? What strength from Trump heh.

The non-college educated Trump supporters will love this. They don't understand democracy and the ones who do have no spine to call out Trump.

Lets hope he bans all of the media. He's just not cut out for it. You know he wants to....man up and do it.

I came in here as a nice person wanting to answer questions and I had people jumping out of their seats screaming questions at me,"

What a total puss. Did he cry, too? Maybe he should take a break from answering questions until he recovers from the trauma.

Fox used to run segments questioning Obama's citizenship and he didn't run away. The billionaire trust fund baby? Well, just look at him. So sad because people were screaming at him in his imaginarion.

Let me get the strong man a tissue.

3 ( +8 / -5 )

Years ago journalists and repirters were held in fairly high regard. But the rot set in well before Trump arrived on the political scene. Theyve brought itin themselves, diminishing their own credibility. Acosta is a joke. Even his fellow reporters tell him to shut up. But hes under orders from CNN.

-3 ( +7 / -10 )

And, of course, CNN has lost a ton of its lustre since Trump called yhem out for their biased bs. A lot of peoples eyes have been opened. Its a garbage entertainment channel now, nothing more. I watch it for laughs occaisionally.

-4 ( +6 / -10 )

What did CNN founder Warner call Christiann Armanpour? "War Slut."

-5 ( +5 / -10 )

Okay, and this guy is supposed to be the ultimate businessman? Are you serious? This guy wrote "Art Of The Deal" huh? Well if anybody knows even the slightest thing about business and how to run a business you would know that a good businessman stays calm and collected under pressure, not throwing insults at his opponent. Trump is turning more and more into a toddler crying for a new toy

1 ( +6 / -5 )

@heFritzxYears ago journalists and repirters were held in fairly high regard.

Some were held in high regard, some reviled. No different from today. Why are you attacking the media in general?

Though I have extremely low regard for journalists and reporters working for The National Enquirer, Fox 'news' and other outlets, I respect them a hundred times more than I do employees of state run media like RT, Sputnik, The Saudi Gazette, Khaleej Times, and respect those employees a thousand times more than the pondscum trolling for organizations like the Internet Research Agency and others that really give some in modern media a bad name.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Superlib, whats with this "non-college educated" line you like to use to put people down? You mustve met enough "college educated" people to know that having attended college is hardly an indication of intelligence or ability. Anyone not attending these days will spare themselves years of neo marxist cultural indoctrination.

Or is it that thought thatmakes you feel threatened?

-2 ( +7 / -9 )

Maybe when Jim Acousta is put in jail or shot, conservatives will say “good” he had it coming. What other reporters there should do is to ask the exact same question. Wonder if the wannabe dictator bans them all. And to think CNN created this monster by giving him endless coverage.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

At that news conference, Dump channeled his inner middle school girl who talks like a child with self-esteem issues. Someone give this man a hug and a decent role-model!

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

"It's such a hostile media,"

I can't recall in any recent times that the media has been so blatantly abusive and hostile toward a President than toward President Trump. The liberal press/media has always had an antagonistic and combative bias toward any conservative politician going back to McCarthy, Goldwater, Nixon and Reagan, et. al.

But Good for Trump! It's about time we had a President who isn't afraid to dish it right back to the press and isn't afraid to call a Spade a "Spade".

On the other hand, had Trump responded politely and meekly, you'd ALL call him a "weak wuss".

In the eyes of the media and the liberals, Trump can't win no matter what he does or doesn't do.....and he pointed that out.

A free press is vital to democracy,

What the so-called "free press" and its liberal supporters often forgets is that with freedom comes responsibility. This press hasn't shown any responsibility and accountability on what it reports, particularly with regards to Conservatives, Republicans and especially President Trump and his policies. It's also very apparent there are NO checks and balances on the press/media's "profession" either.

President Trump on Wednesday called a black reporter’s question about his self-professed nationalism “racist."

Ah yes, white nationalism is racist, yet liberal media and liberals don't consider organizations like the Black Panthers or La Raza/MECHa "racists". The radical Latino organization La Raza proudly proclaims: *"Por la raza todo, fuera de la raza nada" — "For the race, everything, outside the race, nothing."*

The NONwhites are allowed to have their nationalism, but not whites?

Every day we get more evidence that conservatives are the "day as I say, not as I do" types.

And every day we get more evidence that the leftwing/liberals are the "what applies to THEE, does NOT apply to ME" types.

Don Lemon on CNN is a weirdo, to negative

1 ( +6 / -5 )

Superlib, whats with this "non-college educated" line you like to use to put people down? You mustve met enough "college educated" people to know that having attended college is hardly an indication of intelligence or ability.

To be fair, Trump said he loves the “poorly educated” - his words. He also boasts that he attended a top level university ( he lied about his academic performance but that’s par for the course ). He also likes to attack people’s IQs.

He is himself a snob who says very condescending things about people’s educational level and intelligence. The fact that he speaks like a poorly educated and low IQ individual perhaps makes people feel better about his egregious snobbery.

0 ( +6 / -6 )

@halwick What the so-called "free press" and its liberal supporters often forgets is that with freedom comes responsibility

Who says it comes with 'responsibility'. Or are you saying 'in a perfect world' it comes with responsibility. If so, I agree.

But it's for-profit. As long as the outlets don't do something illegal, e.g. slander, libel, it's the consuming public that decides the outlet's worth.

Think about President Trump's backing from the National Enquirer, as whacky as media can get. Should they be 'responsible' and not print stories claiming someone had been abducted by aliens? Should Fox 'news' reporters not shill for politicians, for example not be on stage cheerleading for them? I think Hannity and Fox are disgusting, but I'm still free to ignore them and disagree with them. Whether or not I think they're 'responsible'.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Seriously? McCarthy and Nixon?  You're defending McCarthy and Nixon?

But Good for Trump! It's about time we had a President who isn't afraid to dish it right back to the press and isn't afraid to call a Spade a "Spade".

Very bad choice of word there…you’re channeling Trump’s dog whistles…

On the other hand, had Trump responded politely and meekly, you'd ALL call him a "weak wuss".

I always call him a weak wuss – in fact I call him a COWARD for getting 5 deferments from Vietnam - didn't have the guts to go defend his nation...like Marine Capt Robert Mueller did.

In the eyes of the media and the liberals, Trump can't win no matter what he does or doesn't do.....and he pointed that out.

He pointed that out by crying like a baby...

Go back and read the first bullet….

Ah yes, white nationalism is racist, yet liberal media and liberals don't consider organizations like the Black Panthers or La Raza/MECHa "racists". The radical Latino organization La Raza proudly proclaims: "Por la raza todo, fuera de la raza nada" — "For the race, everything, outside the race, nothing."

And your argument is “We’re racists but you are too?”

The NONwhites are allowed to have their nationalism, but not whites?

You’re going way out on a limb here….

And every day we get more evidence that the leftwing/liberals are the "what applies to THEE, does NOT apply to ME" types.

Don’t quote scripture to us - not when your President is a three time adulterer (Ten Commandments)

Acosta asks a tough questions and Trump starts whining about how fairly Sarah Huckabee(he forgot Sanders) is being treated!!

Wow, a kindergartener has more maturity and thicker skin than this disgrace of a human.

And Trumpeters lying about Acosta assaulting WH aide, while the video they posted shows exactly the opposite.

Is delusion the new reality for 'alternative facts' believers????

1 ( +8 / -7 )

I’m just amazed at how much Trump supporters know about CNN presenters.

They really love the Punch and Judy nonsense.

Then again, it must difficult for the “poorly educated” ( as Trump described them ) to come to their own conclusions.

Fox News - Whoop! Whoop!

CNN - Hiss! Boo!

I suppose it’s fun. Try the pantomime. When you see Tinkerbell’s light go down, imagine you are watching Fox. When Captain Hook comes on, imagine you are watching CNN.

I think Trump had it right about some members of his following.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

His exchanges with CNN's Jim Acosta and NBC News' Peter Garrett turned bitterly personal, unusual even for a forum where the nature of their jobs often put presidents and the press at odds.

The whole presser was surreal. I don't mind a bit of argy-bargy between pollies & journos but this was embarrassing/cringe-worthy/absurd. I honestly think Trump's mentally ill/deranged and most ppl who were at the conf arent perfectly sane either (otherwise they'd have walked out after 5min).

Intelligent people miss the days when the president just governed the country and didn't engage is petty squabbles like a 13 year-old.

So we just ignore Acosta karate chopping the woman to try to keep the microphone. Ok then.

Except that this didn't happen. We've all seen the footage and now we've all heard Sarah Sander's lies.

Assuming that someone is racist is racist in itself.

That's a lame excuse, if ever I heard one. And I've heard plenty from Trump acolytes.

Hermann Goring, the anti-Semite and rich nazi narcissist loved his Jewish godfather. Sorry to Godwin here but that's the thing some fail to get their heads around. Racism isn't rational.

And like the nazis, the press was another constant irritation until they had it completely under control.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

For all his myriad faults, at least President Trump is accessible to the media. I don't recall either of his two predecessors having as many press conferences and open events.

As for Jim Acosta, he has been playing this game for two years now. He is trying to develop some street cred by being an 'edgy' and 'confrontational' personality instead of by being a journalist. He has a sad history of staging moments like this and then trying to be the aggrieved party. Events like the one in the story are held for ALL the press, not just for the sole benefit of Jim 'Look At Me' Acosta. He wants to BE the story instead of reporting the story. Well, he is the story now, just for the wrong reasons. Getting physical and handsy with a young female staff member at the White House should be a firing level offence if CNN had any shred of decency or credibility. CNN needs to send somebody more professional to cover the President.

0 ( +7 / -7 )

CNN, I think, has gone overboard with Anti-Republican / Anti-Trump to the extent that it rarely appears to convey any other news across its network. The CNN Reporter was a bit in Trump's face, which predictably led to the "show" that we saw.

Regarding "News" reporting... the BBC, "reports" Global News, not just that of interest to the UK, and when reporting the latest incident in the US concerning Trump, doesn't "always" launch into a one sided tirade against him or his party. I tend to watch BBC more than CNN, however that said, here in Japan you can only (apparently) receive 2 English television news services - CNN/CNN-j or BBC World.

Perhaps it's the format of the "news" shows on CNN which give this impression of unadulterated bias, what's it like on other US News channels ? Similar format to CNN or do any try to report "news" similar to the BBC's approach ?

That said, back in the UK, unless you specifically subscribe to BBC World, the standard BBC news channel has become abysmal , following a similar chat show format to that of CNN's - so domestically there, I'd have to say "Sky" presents news - but you can't receive Sky News here in Japan :( ...

It should be but he didn't.

NHK show's 10 minute sections of various world news in the morning. You can get BBC, ABC and French, Spanish etc news after 8am.

PBS crops up on one of the BS (satellite) channels as well, around 4pm.

Back on terrestrial, NHK's 7pm & 9pm bulletins are bilingual.

The press starting making fun of Republican presidential candidates and presidents starting with the Bush Jr and then on to Romney and have been particularly vicious towards Trump. Bush Jr and Romney kept thier cool and reacted politely. Trump won't let them push him around. He fights back and sticks up for fly over country Americans that the media makes fun of and looks down on. You gotta admire Trump for that.

2 ( +7 / -5 )

The press starting making fun of Republican presidential candidates and presidents starting with the Bush Jr and then on to Romney and have been particularly vicious towards Trump

Actually, in televisual years, go back to Nixon and the press made fun of him, not that it made too much difference as he won the election. Political satire (cartoons mocking candidates and Presidents) is as old as the Republic.

There is nothing about Trump's petulant demeanour and crybaby tantrums to garner any admiration. He, like every dictator before him, cannot handle tough questions or critics.

He has soiled American freedoms.

2 ( +8 / -6 )

Just needs Jack Nicholson looking at Trump and saying "You can't handle the Truth "

All this in a country that just elected a dead person. Ha ha.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

What worries me is there is video evidence of what happened and yet the Trumpzis are defying their own eyes and claiming Acosta assaulted the would-be mic grabber.

This is something different and unsettling.

So he touched her in the video I saw. He says he didn’t. That’s a lie. Didn’t hurt her, didn’t mean to, accidental contact ok. But he says he didn’t touch her and he did.

He in fact subjected her to his white male dominance while usurping her authority over him in a disrespectful manner. Down with the patriarchy and white privilege.

-5 ( +4 / -9 )

Reporters are supposed to ask tough questions

(Remember when people complained that the media weren't asking tough questions when Obama was president?)

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Next up you'll be saying that Palpatine was struck down by a rude Jedi knight.

According to Palpatine's Press Secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sandoothin, violent behavior is to be expected from 'those kind' of Jedi. When pressed for clarification, she simply repeated her words, saying she was clear enough.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

If we had a President who behaved morally and politely, this would not happen.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

The fundamental issue with Trump supporters is they refuse to acknowledge facts. This leads to them constantly repeating the same falsehoods, which a lot of us feel requires they be corrected again. And, we end up in the same downward spiral because the conversation can barely move forward, if at all.

This is utterly gut-wrenching because it's ripping my country apart.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

The press #resistance was in rare form yesterday. They seem determined to make themselves the news instead of just reporting it. It makes no sense to be disrespectful to Trump at a press conference. They know he will call them on it. They should ask their question, listen to the answer and let the next person have their turn. That’s how the press used to behave.

Just because Trump is president should not change their professional standards. They are harming themselves more in the long run by lowering their standards to Trumps level. It may make “reporters” like Acosta hero’s to Progressives and increase CNNs ratings now, but the long term damage they do to themselves is not worth it.

0 ( +6 / -6 )

I love how all the libs talk all around the issue of him saying he didn’t touch her and ignoring the reality of the video showing he did.

I love how all the libs talk all around the issue of him saying he didn’t touch her and ignoring the reality of the video showing he did.

He did touch her. He was out of order but not violent.

So you are backing off the claim that he karate-chopped her?

2 ( +6 / -4 )

love how all the libs talk all around the issue of him saying he didn’t touch her and ignoring the reality of the video showing he did.

The video unambiguously shows that the intern touched him rather than the other way around and that he did absolutely nothin inappropriate. It’s idiotic to argue otherwise in the face of plain as day evidence like that, which I suppose explains why team Trump has decided to make it their talking point on this.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Trump is not only an arrogant fool, he is completely unable to deal with questioning that shows him in a negative way or puts him on the back foot. He has no morals, no empathy and no class.

Acosta asked a question and is entitled to remain in possession of the microphone until his question has been answered. The way in which Trump tried to evade answering Acosta's question was both unprofessional and extremely rude. He lashes out at anyone not concentrating on what he considers to be his successes.

I find it inexcusable for any intelligent person to defend his boorish, childish and uncouth manners. This man has no business being in charge of a dump truck let alone a country. He spouts lies every minute of the day he is awake and he is also the true enemy of the people of the USA. Worst President EVER!

Black: Just because they be rude and disrespectful person

I think this is the disconnect that frustrates us with Trump fans. He brags about grabbing women by the p**** and you vote for him for president. A reporter asks a question Trump doesn’t like and suddenly there are cries about how rude and disrespectful he is and there needs to be consequences.

It’s that total disconnect that is a fascinating psychology study. Ever hear a Trump fan complain because someone else is lying? Same thing.

I understand the dynamic that Trump will never be criticized for his faults since surrendering your spine is a requirement for being a Trump fan. But surely there should be some kind of mental something that should tell them that talking about someone else lying would be silly, right?

Maybe we should just ask them. Trump fans: Trump mocked a soldier for being a POW and you said nothing. Acosta asked what you thought was a rude question and support him being banned.

Can you explain how those two things exist in your mind? Is there any understanding, even in the most basic way, of how someone could look at that and think there is zero credibility? Do you understand that there is zero credibility but you have the tribe to protect you? Or do you not understand anything I’ve just said at all, like it’s all Greek?

Sometimes I convince myself that they are just trolling, but I’m starting to wonder if I’m just defaulting to that since their words are so unbelievable. Are they really driven by pure emotion with no logic?

What do you guys think?

3 ( +8 / -5 )

7 paragraphs and not a word about him touching the woman when he claims he didn’t.

Are there liberal rules of microphone handling now? Why would you need to maintain control of the microphone in order to listen to a response? Answer: you didn’t ask a question, you made an accusation and you need the mic to continue to berate someone when you don’t hear the answer you want.

He wasn’t banned for being rude, he was banned for karate chopping a female intern. Did you guy forget that supposedly Corey Lewandowski “assaulted” a woman by grabbing her arm to move her out of the way?

-3 ( +5 / -8 )

At least jimizo is man enough to admit Acosta lied about not putting his hands on her. His hand knocked away her arm just like those guys on tv do a karate chop to break bricks. Good thing Acosta is weak and she wasn’t hurt.

CNN can simply assign someone else and we can all move on. Acosta can get his own show which will be cancelled faster than the Alec Baldwin show.

-4 ( +4 / -8 )

@Bass: So being an American Nationalist is racist? Really? How? I’m an American Nationalist and I’m not racist, I know people of all shades of color and political affiliations, so what’s wrong or racist about it? I’ll give you some time to figure that one out.

Trump is making the case that his allegiance is based on nationality. On the other hand his opponents base their allegiances on racial and other identities. Trumps opponents are trying to gaslight the public into believing that they are not the racists that they so clearly are.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

What do you guys think?

What did Trump do to you? Sure he's not a saint; who is without sin and ready to cast the first stone.

But set aside the fact that being sick and tired of politicians doing nothing for America, he did beat "the most qualified person" ever to run for president -

wouldn't you and everyone against him here love to be, if qualified, to be a vice-president or senior manager of the Trump Organization? I know for a fact that each and every one of his employees have homes in the Tri-State area and are relatively prosperous. Thousands apply for each opening position.

He supported liberals, including the Clintons, until he saw the sham - Clinton Foundation, Obama's radicalism, Bush's neocons, etc.

And for those of you who think he'll be impeached by new members of the House who won in Red States, for your info, a congressman's term is two years.

TWO YEARS, then all of them have to run for re-election. No one wants to be quickly out of a job in 2020 just to cater to the Dem's far left. Moreover, the Senate needs 2/3 majority to impeach. Know your politics!

-3 ( +5 / -8 )

His hand knocked away her arm just like those guys on tv do a karate chop to break bricks.

Fake News. That is worse than Trump seeing people who aren’t there.

Put the partisanship aside and be honest. There is contact, but if he had violent intentions and struck her, it would have been seized upon by the many people who had a clear view of it, including Trump himself.

This garbage has been manufactured to take attention away from Trump’s infantile crap.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

@SuperLib: I think this is the disconnect that frustrates us with Trump fans. He brags about grabbing women by the p**** and you vote for him for president.

Trump stated that women allowed him to do things to them because he is rich and famous. Yes it’s not something that people like to admit but some women, just some - not all, do allow rich and famous men to do things to them sexually. It’s a reality that even the newfound prudes on the Left must admit is true. Even struggling rock bands have groupies that don’t act like angels.

What frustrating is how people with a political agenda misscharacterize statements for political effect. Stick to the facts. Read and listen to his statements and refrain from substituting what you want him to have said over what he actually said.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

It’s all on Acosta. Ask your question and hand the microphone to the next person. If You don’t touch people, no one has to try to determine your “intentions” when you do.

It actually was “seized upon” after it happened that’s why Acosta has no pass now.

-5 ( +6 / -11 )

It actually was “seized upon” after it happened that’s why Acosta has no pass now.

Trump had a crystal clear view of it.

Why didn’t he say anything?

I know bone spurs is a proven coward, but surely he was in his safe space here?

4 ( +9 / -5 )

Trump is no great person, but Acosta was being unprofessional. Poor judgement decision... Like Hannity showing up at a campaign advocating withTrump instead of doing actual journalism. Disgusting.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Blacklabel: He wasn’t banned for being rude, he was banned for karate chopping a female intern.

Here it is again. Surely there is something in black's mind that should say, "This is going to sound silly if I type this."

For example I could say that she approached him in a hostile way and tried to grab something in his hand. Acosta defended himself. Surely if somoene walked up to you like that and tried to grab something they'd get more than a little push of the hand, right?

But it would be obvious that I'm trying to pitch a manufactured argument because of emotions. I'd feel shame if I said that. People would call me out and it would be a reminder and I'd have regret. That dynamic doesn't seem to exist for Trump fans.

Could the draw to Trump include the promise that there is no shame for your actions, even when they are obvious and exposed to the outside world? Nothing to feel regret about?

2 ( +7 / -5 )

Hopefully Acosta’s pass will be suspended indefinitely......

-4 ( +5 / -9 )

Could the draw to Trump include the promise that there is no shame for your actions, even when they are obvious and exposed to the outside world? Nothing to feel regret about?

A very astute observation. When a merest brush becomes a "karate chop", despite there being no room for this interpretation by anyone who sees it, you know you have descended far into the well of alternative facts.

We are in a state where the truth is a mere tool for some greater end, so it can be trodden over and ground into the dirt if destroying it makes for some quick win.

This is the kind of alternate reality that Trumpsters live in - where a brush of a hand is a karate chop and a band of migrant families with children is an "invasion force."

Speaking of which, after covering it non-stop 24/7 for the past 45 days, where did all the coverage of the "dangerous caravan" on Faux News go?  Did they turn around and go home?  I thought we were all in mortal danger?  Couldn't have been manufactured news designed to fear-monger, could it?

Toasted Heretic:

I don't like the President's tone, the way he makes fun of his rivals and his general cocky attitude. It is very unlike what I would want a national leader to be.

However liberal elitists, the news media and entertainment types have been trashing conservatives and trampled on the working class for more than 20 years now with recent conservative representatives meekly taking it on the chin. During that time Washington also has become an absolute swamp. Finally there is someone who is standing up for the little guys now and they rallied around him. As Twisted Sister once sang "We're not gonna take it anymore!"

I hope one day it won't be necessary, but for now I think a guy like him is a sort if necessary evil.

The intern made a grab to wrest control of the microphone from Acosta while it was obvious he had not finished with it. She did not politely ask for it or simply hold her hand out waiting for him to give it to her.

Acosta had his eyes locked on the President and used peripheral vision and his left hand to sweep away the interfering interns hand and he said "excuse me mam" to indicate he wasn't finished with the mic.

This whole episode was the Presidents fault for being an as-h-le and refusing to answer a simple question, because he couldn't. Trump causes trouble everywhere he goes. That's all he does. That's all he is capable of doing. Lock the bum up and throw away the keys. Worlds highest ranking moron.
