Who voted down the Port of Vancouver needing that money? The Port of Vancouver is in desperate need of infrastructure money. It is one of the worst performing ports in the entire world. It is very typical of Canada's current government to do nothing for Canada but try to look cool on the world stage. There are a large number of festering problems in Canada but the PM has not interest in facing any of them. He is either in hiding in Canada or on some overseas trip.

It is Mandarin. Kanji only uses around 3,000 characters. The average native Chinese knows about 8,000 characters. China's own people don't like their government. If you find actual untainted news from China that is not dictated by the CCP, you'll know why. But carry on with your propaganda... does not change reality and facts.

As I've said before, if China were DIFFERENT and the government was not as they are now, many of us would probably be less critical about China's "rise" as a true super power. But knowing how the CCP is, it will not be looked upon with open arms and smiling faces.

This is NOT going to improve on the lives of people in the targeted countries. Their homes will still be raised for mines and dams, their rivers will still be polluted, their roads will be even more dangerous from more commercial trucks, and more foreign criminals will operate to 'serve' the needs of foreign expats, just look at the drugs trade flowing through Pakistan when China was given control of Gwadar port.

What ever happened to the Rules Based Order? To stand for the little guy? Those who just want their way of living protected?

People in developing nations have always been happy, and they have overwhelmingly said they want health and education, not electronic trinkets.

It's really sick when a president of the USA can spin how he plans to follow China down the rabbit hole as some kind of world order.

Wasn't there this Build Back Better project? And before that there was another hare-brained scheme which has disappeared. Biden makes a fuss over ASEAN offering them millions - and yet it was ONE-TENTH of what China had already offered last year. And 4/10ths of USA's 'generous offer' was to be allocated to military spending. Same thing during that failed meeting of the Americas recently - offering crumbs to Latin America when China has already offered much more.

How the hell can America claim to offer any sort of help when they can't even maintain their own infrastructure? Even poor Laos now has better trains than much of USA, and they and the Chinese had to spend considerable time removing American bombs left during the Vietnam war when the rail was being built.

And their building skills are sinking. Hanoi subway, built with Chinese assistance is already up and running, and continuing to expand, whereas the Ho Chi Minh City Metro built with Japanese assistance has been held up continuously. 2024 opening? Good luck with that!

And don't get me started on infrastructure in the UK, like high speed rail. The Elizabeth line has been delayed for years and you still have to change trains in central London. And California? Oh god, maybe next century.

Mark my words, you'll hear nothing about this next year. China can offer bullet trains. All America can offer is bullets, not trains.
