Gadhafi has sponsored terrorism, and continues to slaughter his own people. However, to commit in interventionist war without a commitment to eliminate Gadhafi is questionable. The nature of dictators is that they have a tireless will to power. They stop short to get power and to maintain power. That means that they have no scruples, they have no compassion, they have no respect for anyting. They are by nature sociopaths. It is clear that the original mission of Libya was vague. If Gadhafi is not disposed, one of the several things will happen. He will remain in power, far more filled with hatred for the United States, and animated at all costs to seek revenge, most likely against innocent Americans everywhere in the world. Or, he will flee the country, taking refuge in Iran or Syria, and spend his time engineering a return to power in Libya and seeking revenge against innocent Americans everywhere in the world. Or, they could try to imprison him for life, but the outcry from the world's Leftists and fascists would be too much for this administration to withstand, in which case they would release him to the World Court in Hague, which would find him innocent because he hadn't attacked another country and was a victim of NATO aggression. I suppose they would never be able to come to an understanding that to win this thing would be like getting involved in cutting off the head of a snake. Hence, a pathetic American president in training just doesn't comprehend the nature of the job and probably never will. After all, his history as a legislator indicates that he has always shied away from making commitments.
