The UN is a joke so the jester seemed quite appropriate to me. By 'King of Kings' perhaps he has taken over for Budweiser. Oh sorry, that's 'king of beers'.

Gotta give Gadhafi credit for one thing, though - after he saw what happened to Saddam, he got with the program and got rid of his WMD.

Big Mo has been diagnosed with advanced stages of a certain STD which affects the brain. I wouldn't put too much stock in anything he says. He got his 100 minutes of fame. Time to head back to the desert. Frightening, though, that he's the long-term leader of the African Union.

Gadhafi has been saving up 40 years for this speech. He ranted on about various issues, including John F. Kennedy's assassination. As the head of the Libyan government, it is his right to speak at this yearly event, but has not done so until now.

I just found out that Libiya has a seat on the U.N. Security Council.

Dictator for life, Khadaffi made a mockery of the UN and all the utopians around the world who actually believe in it.

The "King of kings" (who did he succeed - Mugabe, Idi Amin?) also said he'd like to see Obama rule forever.

Wonder why that doesn't appear in the article. It is certainly receiving press elsewhere.

Gadhafi seem to have a lot venom,at the UN,hope he does more to speak out his mind. Libya needs to build more public relations with rest of world.

It is said at the beginning that Gadhafi basically emptied his mind. At another news report, also by AP, it is said that Obama appeared before the General Assembly. In fact, it was Gadhafi who spoke to the General Assembly, whereas Obama evacuated his mind.

When America under Obama give up its position as leader of free world, I think there will be a period in which this kind of phenomenon will become more and more frequent . No standard, no leader ,free for all..I am king ,you are king, everybody is a king ,la la la.

What a wacky and long speech. He was all over the place.

Like writing an essay, his speech sorely needs structure.

No wonder people walked out. It's like listening to a graduation speech, except much worse and much much too long. At least people don't have to stay in their seats.

Everybody listened to Obama though. That's the art of public speaking: one can get more people to listen if it's done in a non-boring way.

Where would wacky Khadaffi or any of the totalitarians in N Africa and the Mid East be without the wealth that Western technology creates for them?

But the real scandal is that some gentlemen left the room! This is arrogance in perfection! So they have shown once again that they do not care what others think. Gadhafi is certainly no choirboy, but with his allegations he is at least partially right. A small excerpt: Vietnam, Falklands, Panama, Chile, Africa during the postcolonial period, Afghanistan, ... and these are only a few of which our media is reporting. We live in a world that we want to shape us according to Western criteria. Who wants to be blamed, that there are other perspectives. I admire the courage of Gaddafi, who says his opinion.

Moammar Gadhafi what a man? A generation ago US F111's were bombing the crxp out of everybody's least-loved Bedouin and now he is giving lectures at the UN. Furthermore, just to prove that he is now America's newest boy in North Africa (the Egyptians must be worried), he gave President Obama a nice round of applause.

Then again, can you trust the lounge lizard of Tripoli, who in addition to his strange outbursts, is also widely known for propositioning just about every female journalist who has ever interviewed him. I wonder what the spirits of president's past (Ronald Reagan) would make of all this.....
