There was a proposal for Saudi to recognise Israel and be a part of an ambitious trade link originating in India and finishing in Europe, with Israel included in the middle.

This would not have pressured the Israeli side to give sovereignty to Palestinians.

Even if this idea was given consideration, Israel routinely reverses promises it made .

Absent a big change in attitude from the US I see status quo being continued...Israel oppression, Palestinian subjugation .

The catastrophe in the Middle East is due to the Palestinian rejection of the 1947 UNGA resolution which called for establishing two states – the Arabic state of Palestine, and a Jewish state, Israel, which would serve as a refuge for Jews and for Judaism but at the same time would serve as a common home for Jews and for Arabs.

Their aspiration is to butcher all the Jews in the land. This attitude is reflected and resounded by the pro-Palestinian commenters in these pages.
