It’s funny how you need an id to get the COVID vaccination

No, you do not.

You need an I’d to get a job, cash a check, buy beer and cigarettes (again—alcoholism and menthol addiction disproportionately affect pocs).

Those are not rights guaranteed in our US and every state's Constitution like the right to vote is. I didn't need an ID to start my own business. I filled out two forms for my state, signed them and sent them some money. I didn't need any ID to obtain my EIN (Employer Identification Number) from the IRS either.

Noidall: I’m so sick a dems implying that pocs are too stupid or too poor or to oppressed or too whatever that they can’t get voter I’ds.

Great. Now that you've gotten voter IDs out of the way, what's your position on early voting on Sundays? Apparently the GOP feels it's something that needs to be stopped but haven't really articulated a reason as to why that one day, with in person voting following all of your ID requirements, is just too dangerous compared to, say, a Wednesday.

Oh, and since we have data showing blacks disproportionately vote on Sundays, but sure your answer is not only logical, but justifies the harm done to blacks. Here, I'll even start it for you:

Blacks disproportionately vote on Sundays due to drives like Souls to the Polls, but despite knowing that we still need to end early voting on Sundays because....

Or just choose anything other than voter ID laws since they've already been passed anyway. Tell me about shortening early voting periods, shortening registration periods, reducing (not eliminating) the number of drop boxes, eliminating voting places on college campuses, closing voting stations an hour earlier, etc.

You know, talk about the other things the GOP puts in their bills that have nothing to do with IDs and are simply means to reduce opportunities to vote, even with an ID in hand. Surely there is a good reason for it even if that reason doesn't include security or integrity, right?

No, you do not.

They asked for ID and insurance card at the GEMA vaccine center. The ID was to prove I lived in Georgia. No clue why insurance was requested, probably to tell the insurance company. At appointment time, it was optional.

I have a problem with restrictions in the bill in Georgia. It will alter how I vote, slightly, if signed. At least they removed 2 parts of the bill which would have ended no-excuse absentee voting, but the restrictions for ballot drop box time and location restrictions will be a hassle to me. The absentee ballot ID requirement will be a hassle too - and I can see it as a way for certain people's votes to become misplaced/lost/invalidated based on name + photo.

GOP in Georgia lying to fix non-existent problems, so they can restrict voters likely NOT to vote republican. Noting more than that.

This legislation is clearly a reaction to minorities, especially black women (Full disclosure: Im a middle-aged white guy) finding their voices and voting in droves. And EVERYONE KNOWS IT.

Black Americans voted and the GOP lost. “The GOP is saying We can’t have those uppity negro women uprooting our plans” That’s how racist and discriminatory this law is.

Abolish the filibuster and pass HR-1.

Fun Fact: There was no voter fraud. The GOP lost. This law is a solution in search of a problem. What this law actually is is white Republicans acting to suppress non-white voting.

The GOP are continuing their efforts to get their followers to believe there is a problem, voter fraud, even though it's been repeatedly shown to be extremely limited and to have had zero effect on the outcome of the 2020 election. They're continuing their big lieS which they have admitted in court reasonable people wouldn't believe.

The GOP are a minority party intent on undermining voting rights knowing that's the only way they can regain the White House.

The R's current approach is to do a modern variation of the 3/5 Compromise. This time it's not slaves they're trying to limit the counting of, instead it's those at the lower ends of the economic ladder and those with disabilities. The GOP want to further undermine democracy and set up a tyranny of the minority. The GOP are both anti-republic and anti-democracy.

Funny how all of us racist white liberals are seeking to restrict voting rights. oh, wait.....
