Meh... get over it. The USA has NEVER been attacked on its home soil by militants... the world hears when there's relatively minor attacks by terrorists.

When the USA has been bombed by the Japanese (like Australia, England...etc in WWII), or has had foreign troops occupying their country (like Japan, Iraq, Afghanistan...etc) then they can complain.

I don't mean this as a form of disrespect but 11/9 was in 2001 (a few American friends actually can't remember which year it was in!) It's old hat and should be forgotten. Just re-build the damn towers and move on... sorry... had to be said.

And Rudy... shut up! You're old-hat! Once a frontrunner (backed by Forbes magazine), you didn't even get pre-selected for the last election... you're older than 11/9...

Not if you count Timothy McVey a militant, and the first World Trade Center bombing.

the Bush administration “inherited the most tragic attack on our soil in our nation’s history”

True dat.

"Not if you count Timothy McVey a militant, and the first World Trade Center bombing."

They were terrorists who targeted 1 or 2 buildings. Compare that with 100+ bomber pilots flying over your capital city and dropping bombs on pretty well every building, leaving it decimated. The scale just doesn't compare...

Again I'm not being disrespectful... I'm just saying... the USA has never been attacked on its home soil by a government-funded group of professional soldiers.

the Bush administration “inherited the most tragic attack on our soil in our nation’s history”

True dat.

To say that 11/9 is Clinton or Bush's fault is a joke... it was the work of a group of terrorists who could not have been stopped by either leader.

That said, its been and gone

September 11 2001 it's old hat. Forget about it and move on!

I know Republicans don't care about reality, but you still have to fake caring about it a little bit. What a useless, pathetic fool.

the USA has never been attacked on its home soil by a government-funded group of professional soldiers.

lmao - what country could have done so? What country would be so foolish?

"the 9/11 attacks resulted from mistakes by the Clinton administration"

Heck, Clinton could have, but failed to get Bin Laden when he had the chance. But even if he had, the 9/11 attacks still might have happened.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"Giuliani somehow neglected to mention the Sept 11, 2001 terrorist attacks"

Oh, for cryin' out loud, everyone knows Rudy was talking about AFTER the 9/11 attacks.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Rudy is an idiot. By his logic, Obama inherited a quagmire in Iraq... oh wait...

0 ( +0 / -0 )

McVey and the first World Trade Center attacks were in the 1990s, way before Bush was president (just in case anyone didn't know that.)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"Rudy is an idiot"

He is not.

"By his logic, Obama inherited a quagmire in Iraq... oh wait..."

Oh wait... Iraq's not a quagmire. Thanks to Bush, the U.S. is on schedule to pull out of a stable Iraq that isn't ruled by a awful dictator and that doesn't seek WMD or threaten its neighbors in about another year and a half...

sarge: Giulani himself said he made a mistake, bud. Get over it... and of course the mistake comes AFTER heaps of criticism.

The man has proven to be a total tool, despite how much sarge come on here and stamp their feet and start blabbing about this and that to distract from the article.

The sad part is that there are those who honestly believe in the sentence as Giuliani said it:

“We had no domestic attacks under Bush,” Giuliani said. “We’ve had one under Obama."

I guess we ought to qualify it for Giuliani then:

'The country's single-worst terrorist attack happened under bush. A single attempt has happened under Obama.'

sydenham: "Rudy is an idiot. By his logic, Obama inherited a quagmire in Iraq... oh wait..."

Poor attempt at spin (and funny sarge missed it), though you're right about the idiot part. Oh, one big difference I'll point out for you: Ummm... When did the incident on, well, 9/11 occur? When did Iraq start? How about the poor economy, for that matter?

What some people use as 'logic' astounds.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Anyway, this is going to be fun to watch.... are the Republicans ever going to spin (pun intended).

0 ( +0 / -0 )

sarge,

"heck, Clinton could have, but failed to get Bin Laden when he had the chance."

Sorry to burst your partisan bubble, but Bush Co had a better chance:

"With Bin Laden cornered, the objective of the (Afghan) war was in sight, but the then US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and commander of US forces Tommy Franks insisted on sticking to the strategy, despite repeated requests for US ground troops.

The special forces on the ground and the CIA called for backup but it was denied on several occasions."

Lmao. Partisan bubbles bursted? Well, how about this - Robert Scheuer, who loathed G W Bush, recently had this to report about O B Laden

'''... one of the officers who got killed had arranged an operation in 1998 that would have killed or captured Osama bin Laden. And Mr. Brennan was instrumental in preventing that operation from occurring. Instead he said the Americans should trust the Saudis to take care of bin Laden. So it's a painful-- it's a painful death, but more importantly it's a death that didn't need to occur had Mr. Clinton -- Mr. Brennan, George Tenet, and Mr. Berger had the courage to try to defend Americans.'''

Lmao

I love the republicans. No group has ever wanted to rewrite history in their own minds like republicans. george bush was the greatest president, republicans never sent the economy into a tail-spin and the democrats have been streaming these lies together.

When I watched Giuliani running his soup coolers yesterday and the day before I rolled in laughter. Maybe he needs to do a Florida tour and spread this crap to the Jews from New York City.

I guess if I was a republican I'd like to rewrite history, also. < :-)

Sirgamble, while I agree with you on some points, you should check your history books. Unless, of course, they are Japanese. The US has never been attacked on their home soil by a professional army? A peak at Wikipedia will teach you the error of your ways, but let me find it for you.

The Burning of Washington took place on August 24, 1814, during the War of 1812 between the British Empire and the United States of America. British forces occupied Washington, D.C. and set fire to many public buildings following the American defeat at the Battle of Bladensburg. The facilities of the U.S. government, including the White House, were largely destroyed, though strict discipline and the British commander's orders to burn only public buildings are credited with preserving the city's private buildings.

Not only was the US attacked, but it had its most important office and icon leveled in the fight. How quickly Americans forget. So, perhaps you should do some back peddling like Giuliani. Not that I like him, or anything. Nor the republicans, but...

This is just more proof as to why Giuliani should never be President. How's that shoe taste, Rudy?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Al Queda was active under Clinton, Bush, and now Obama. It doesn't matter who is in the White House. They still want to kill all of the infidels.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Madverts: "Sorry to burst your partisan bubble but Bush Co had the better chance: With Bin Laden cornered..."

Yeah, cornered somewhere in the mountains of Afghanistan/Pakistan, just like he is now, if he's really still alive.

Any comment on ShonanMaruNo2's post?

USAFdude - Millions of Americans would rather have Rudy as our president than our current president.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

SuperLib you're right, but Giuliani wants to forget about the attack during bush's regime. < :-)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

adaydream: add to Rudy's stupidity here the fact that a small number of Republicans have come on this site saying Obama ACTUALLY started the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as the economy, and that 9/11 was Clinton's fault. You're bang on about how they want to rewrite history, but they seem to want to suggest that during the bush admin. there were a bunch of wormholes and time was displaced.

It's sad that I once had a tiny ounce of respect for this man, way back when, but it's clear time, and retirement, have only brought out his true colours like never before. What a buffoon.

Sarge -

USAFdude - Millions of Americans would rather have Rudy as our president than our current president.

Just that millions more prefer Obama, hence his victory. What would you guess the ratio is? 15 to 1? 25 to 1?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Perhaps in Mr. Giuliani's mind, 9/11 wasn't an attack, it was just, sorta, an unhappy event. Sad man.

Super,

Hindsight is 20/20. You, me nor anybody knew who bin-Laden was in 1998.

Did you actually read the link I supplied? They had him cornered but Bush and then Secretary of Fefense (and known ball-dropped in Iraq) refused to heed the demand for troops on the ground from commanders and the CIA.

But I'm not surprised Old Friend is laughing his behind off....

"They had him cornered but Bush and then Secretary of Defense Rumsfelt(and known ball-dropper in Iraq)

Whoops. It's early. And cold.
