Google sure is being brave. I don't think I'd let that horrible film continue in the face of what is happening around the world. It's not the U.S. that is causing the trouble ... it is the continuing showing of that film that is doing it. Just get rid of it.

People are being murdered due to this 'short film' - maybe, it would be correct to calm the situation by taking it down or is there an agenda behind all this ?

"Just get rid of it"

Heck, if we have to get rid of this video, we have to get rid of half the videos on YouTube!

Well principles do have their limitations. I betcha Google would take it down after a crazed Islamist car bombs its corporate headquarters.

At least one glimpse of good news.

Free speech: 1 Obama submission under islamist censorship: 0

Of course there is an agenda behind all this. If Google submits and takes this clip, then there is the next demand. And the next. And the next. Until we are only allowed to say what is islamicalliy correct. Do you seriously think all these murderous mobs suddenly watched YoutTube and found this clip (which has been online for 6 months)? How do you explain that all these rampages started after "Friday prayers at the mosque", as they always do?

The only thing this show is how easy it is for islamist imams to whip up a frenzied mob. And that indeed, they communicate with each other.

The agenda is to wipe out free speech in the West, and Obama is not exactly making a strong figure in standing up against it.

Good on Google for not backing down because of the crazed Islamist's

You heard it here first folks.

On a related note, Monty Python's Life of Brian (a masterpiece of religious satire) was banned for decades in many westerns countries, cities and Bible Belt cinemas.

Good on Google for showing a set of stones.

I remember during the whole Mohammed cartoon controversy, most media outlets refused to show them, even though they were the central theme in a news story.

I love it when the "heckler's veto" is trumped by freedom.

Yeah, score one for freedom of speech. Obama caves to the militants; no surprise there.

@Farmboy

Some might call it an exposition, even if it's a poorly made one. I saw part of it, it looked like trash. However, in the United States of America, there is a thing called freedom of speech. I have the utmost respect for Google for not giving and taking down the video. Under Obama's orders, he called the maker of this film for an "interview". I have lost a lot of respect for Obama because of this. I now doubt his sincerity in upholding the Constitution where before I did not.

Take down this film and you'd have to take down all the anti-christian videos too.

I wish religion didn't weigh so heavily upon this world...

I would call it hate speech, since from all reports, it is garbage as a movie, and only has an expression and promotion of hatred as its goal. I don't know how the worst ranting of the KKK towards blacks, or Neonazis toward Jews are treated, but it falls in that category. That doesn't excuse the mindless violence, however

Hate speech is not illegal in the USA.

People are being murdered due to this 'short film' -

No. People are being killed because medieval religious bigots are inciting their simple-minded followers to hatred and violence.

" People are being killed because medieval religious bigots are inciting their simple-minded followers to hatred and violence." Alan said it quite simply.

Even though hate speech is LEGAL in the USA, it is not moral, this is a problem!
