Republicans are a joke.

They're fighting a solution for prevention, instead of fighting the pandemic.

So stupid.

Zichi: People need to take responsibility for not spreading the virus until the game is over, which it is not.

Pretty much sums it up.

as several Republican governors

Political pandering to the roughly 50% of Republicans who say they won't get vaccinated and won't wear masks.

It's cynical for these governors to do that. Each of them has access to the best healthcare money can buy. Unlike many in their base who can't even afford basic healthcare coverage.

and why isn’t the HFCS industry under the same attack as the gun industry if it’s slowly killing more citizens?

It is and has been. Remember the attempts to ban really large soft drinks and the removal of sugary foods and drinks from school lunches? The FDA has been attempting to remove transfats from foods. Other nations are imposing high taxes on unhealthy, sugary foods. It's happening so pay attention.

WHY it was so difficult for those people to wear a face mask? they have no concerns of the others and their own! and the republicans they were the one enable this panedemic!

Tomorrow....Repub Governors tell their residents to ignore;

Tornado sirens....

Railroad stop signs....

Danger - high voltage warnings...

I guess the realized that they needed to restrict voting since most of their supporters will be dead...

so far over the last 60 years the GOP hasn’t been lucky with the Black vote, so we just don’t know.

They haven't been "unlucky", they've promoted policies that are openly and actively hostile towards minorities.

Thank you for giving us spaces to make our own adult choices regarding our bodies and our lives.

Adult self restraint is not in evidence here, and only adult self restraint and a sense of duty is going to minimize the number of infections and deaths. Rights come with obligations, to your community and to your nation, something the right seems to be tragically unaware of. As a citizen you have an obligation to others around you to take protective measures to minimize the risk of spreading this pandemic. It is your duty as a citizen and a member of your community to do this. There are things that are more important than your immediate wants that require one to do things that they don't always want to do, and the recognition of this is what separates adults from children.

It isn't all Republican governors.

By order of the governor, cities and counties are permitted to impose mask requirements in public and on government property.

My governor is a Republican; he's encouraging masks, but not mandating them on all public property or in schools. He's letting counties and cities take an heat on that.

A number of cities and counties have mask mandates.

Federal buildings all require masks and all public transportation nationwide requires wearing a mask. Thanks President Biden.

The CDC headquarters is here. We see some expert from there on the local news a few times every week.

The latest studies from the 2 main vaccines used in the USA show 80% effective after 1 shot and 94+% effective 1 week after the 2nd shot. Also, the vaccines appear to be effective at preventing COVID from infecting people who are fully vaccinated. Here's a news story with multiple links to other studies across a wider subsection of the world now that millions and millions of doses have been deployed.

They protect against infections, not just symptoms

Because republicans refused to work with democrats on the ACA.

That’s Because they foresaw as we are seeing now that the out of control Premiums would wipe the middle class out and they were spot on.

Blah, blah, blah. Stuck to the original point: who is responsible for people not being able to access affordable healthcare?

Democrats and the reason for that is, how is it that so many Americans can’t pay their out of control premiums? Nice try.

Blah, blah, blah. We were talking about states

That as well, exactly!

Try again to stay on point.

Back to you.

This is an odd situation for the daughter of an allegedly wealthy man to be in.

Not mine, my sisters

Even odder when her brother spends his days claiming he is rich on the internet.

What does my sister have to do with me?

I also notice you didn’t include the cost of your health insurance.

I don’t have to, I just gave an average percentage.

Almost as if you’re not paying for insurance in the States.*

I never said, I didn’t. Please read carefully next time, less emotion.

Are you certain it was the deductible and not the premium?

Yes

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Incorrect. Republicans constantly block efforts on the national level to provide affordable healthcare for all.

Sorry, The Democrats under Obama controlled all 3 branches and for 8 years they did nothing as locally over 60 years for the minority communities and these people vote predominantly Democrat.

Republicans are indisputably responsible for minority voters in red states that can’t afford basic healthcare.

No, Baltimore, Chicago, Oakland, Compton, Detroit, they all vote Democrat, nice try. Once they vote Republican we can then grade their performance, but so far over the last 60 years the GOP hasn’t been lucky with the Black vote, so we just don’t know.

I barely needed to think at all to destroy your retort.

What? Lol

what is the cost of your family's private health insurance compared with what you would pay with ACA?

My sister was paying $1780 which was her deductible a month as a single parent for two boys that suffered a rare condition where they both had to have their spleens removed, they were constantly in the hospital and it didn’t cover that much plus her apartment rent and car payment she couldn’t afford it anymore so she had to drop it. So she was better off paying out of pocket. Before that when she was working and had her private company employee insurance it was better and she had to pay a lot less and could choose the doctors she wanted. I pay about 42% less than what the ACA was offering me, let’s just say that without all the headaches and restrictions plus I don’t have to pay for others.

The same number as republicans on poor communities. Thanks, Republicans

But Republicans have nothing to do with blue state minority voters that can’t afford basic healthcare...yes? Think fast!

Political pandering to the roughly 50% of Republicans who say they won't get vaccinated and won't wear masks.

Why?

It's cynical for these governors to do that.

But the lockdowns weren’t, especially when the numbers were down.

Each of them has access to the best healthcare money can buy.

Every Congressman, Democrats included.

Unlike many in their base who can't even afford basic healthcare coverage

How many poor people in minority communities that vote Democrat can afford basic healthcare?

Useless paper masks, constant touching, eye touching, no eye protection and now new research about 5% infection through ear/nasal transmission...seems like he is finding excuses.
