First off, Sanders is running as a Democrat, so he's already "joined" the party. What the media is really asking is when he's going to quit, and he has already told them that he's going to take it all the way to the convention.

Sanders is not "disrupting" Clinton, he's running against her in a primary race that lasts up until and after the convention in July. He has no obligation to quit early, so why should he when he still draws MUCH bigger crowds and enthusiasm than Clinton? Do voters in California, New Jersey, etc. not get to have their say?

There's plenty of time between August and November for party unity. Media reporters incessantly asking Sanders when he's going to quit is just another sign that they've picked their winner before voters make their decision.

My god. This is what the GOP has devolved into. A hollow shell of a party with former powerbroker scrambling desperately to maintain some degree of legitimacy in political world all but overturned by a racist, bombastic, ass-kissing, used-car salesman. It's going to be a rebuke a week from GOP leaders fro here until November for some asinine, obnoxious comment or other from Trump.

GOP leaders having to regularly tell their presumed candidate to stop being an obnoxious a-hole before the election? This has never happened in the history of American presidential politics. Never.

The GOP on Trump as of this moment: *"Yes, we realize full well that he's a racist, a misogynist, a hothead, and has zero practical knowledge of foreign or domestic policy, much less basic knowledge on how to manage complex economics or a nation. But there are areas where we see eye-to-eye, so we're willing to overlook all of that."

What in the name of all that is good could they possibly see eye-to-eye with Trump on?

Immigration reform? So the GOP is willing to back a not only bidding a wall on our southern border, but to also somehow compel Mexico to pay for it? Seriously?

Transgender issues? Trump has very publicly announced he doesn't believe in banning transgendered from restrooms.

Abortion? Trump's been all over the map on this issue, even changing his mind 180 degrees in the course of one interview.

Fiscal conservatism, the alleged backbone of the GOP platform? Trump has proposed zero for reducing government spending and lowering the national debt. No policy papers. No ideas. Nothing. Zip. Zilch. Just populist pandering by promising to paradoxically cut taxes for everyone, from the wealthiest to the poorest.

So really what else is there? Any way the GOP establishment tries to package this betrayal of the American people, they are lending implicit support and agreement to some of the most noxious political ideas since the Civil War.

Or is this really all about doing anything and everything -- including selling their own children and mothers -- to win in November?

Trump's an absolute fraud playing at being a presidential contender and the GOP, out of a pathological and debilitating hatred of Clinton, genuinely thinks it can control the megalomaniac if he gets into the White House. They can't and they won't, a truth borne out by Trump’s refusal to take the advice of his own campaign people.

When this all goes tits-up -- and it will if Trumo makes it to the presidency -- politically amoral cowards like McConnel, Ryan, and Christie will be have to answer to not only history, but to the American people they sold out I their desperate efforts to win at all costs, even if that means lying in bed with the devil.

Judge Curiel is only one justice Don the Con has attacked. He has proven time and time again to be a pathological liar, who whines and moans about how the system is 'rigged' against him. The question is - can U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel fairly judge the case against Trump University, or should he recuse himself?

It is not a question; it is precedent, one that clearly displays the pathology of Trump: supreme self-confidence coupled with absolute cluelessness and a complete disregard for the collateral damage he leaves behind. The Atlantic provided an article which explains why.

In 1998, some attorneys (one of whom was Larry Klayman, the founder of the conservative advocacy group Judicial Watch) were dissatisfied with a ruling made by a Second Circuit judge, Denny Chin, and thought it wise to send a note asking about the judge’s Asian American background and then filed a brief questioning the judge’s impartiality. The judge was not amused. Here is how he responded:

(The attorneys) were required to withdraw as counsel from the case and would not be permitted to appear in Chin’s court on any matter ever again. They would be required to show his opinion to any other judge in the district in any future case. The court clerk would also report the sanctions to every court where they held bar membership.

I would imagine that, even if Trump ordered his attorneys to demand recusal based on ethnicity or membership in an organization catering to a particular ethnic group and not on publicly-known evidence of bias, his attorneys would refuse - if not, they might well meet the same fate, their careers forever tainted in the judicial world.

Trump clearly does not understand this and probably wouldn't care even if he did, but they would. And even if he were able to persuade them to file such a motion, it would fail, so the whole move would be pointless.

This is the man the GOP is set on nominating for the presidency.

He obviously understands it which is why they haven't done anything before he starting attacking Judge Curiel in February, or since.

Lizz, there are a few types of people one does not screw with - the IRS, immigration officials, and judges being prominent on this list. If he indeed does "obviously understand," that makes his behavior all the more reckless. What could he expect to achieve by insulting not only the man who will be overseeing a trial of great importance to him but also his entire demographic? Has he not noticed what began from the GOP in regards to his statements as sharp intakes of breath which later sharpened to pointed advice to cut it out and have now degenerated to stern warnings? If he "obviously understands" this, why does he continue to dig himself deeper?

The only answer I can figure is that he is mentally unstable. The idea of having this man as president in charge of executing affairs domestic and foreign is increasingly frightening, not less so.

RIP GOP. You've allowed xenophobic know-nothing to hijack your party. It will surely lead to the Republican Party joining the Whigs in the dust bin of American history, not that that particularly disturbs me.

I do feel sorry that some members of the party whom I admired but didn't agree with such as Speaker Ryan and Senators Rubio and McCain have sold their principles for the sake of party loyalty. I'd expect as much from Newt who is really nothing more than a smaller, less wealthy version of Chump ("I shall dub him 'mini-me'.")

A Trump victory would spell the end of the Republic. However I remain firm in my believe that there just are not enough racists and morons for him to win. I sure wish that either Presidents Obama or Clinton were eligible to run against him as that would be the debate equivalent of watching Christians being fed to the lions. (This is the only way that Trump should be mentioned in the same sentence as the word "Christians".)

Well, from my understanding, trump sold the rights to use his name and to help promote it, but that was it. The idea, implementation and operation of the university was done by a seperate group of outside investors.

I just watched a Trump University commercial where he claimed to pick every instructor himself. So it would seem he had a lot more to do with it than what you mentioned.

Have you heard of Occupy CNN? It was Sanders supporters protesting against CNN's biased coverage of the primaries. CNN is owned by Time Warner, and Time Warner has donated of $400,000 to Clinton's campaign. I won't blame you if you've never heard of the protests, because CNN failed to cover it in their all-day reporting.

I neglected to add that the attorneys appealed the case to the Second Court bench which rejected it with these comments:

Courts have repeatedly held that matters such as race or ethnicity are improper bases for challenging a judge's impartiality. Nor should one charge that a judge is not impartial solely because an attorney is embroiled in a controversy with the administration that appointed the judge. … Finally, appointment by a particular administration and membership in a particular racial or ethnic group are in combination not grounds for questioning a judge's impartiality. Zero plus zero is zero.

So there you have it: Zero plus zero is zero. We'll see how much further Trump will stumble with this before his inevitable retreat. Being Trump, the only question is how he will frame his failure.

My prediction is that the Dems will make hay with Trump's overseas tour of his golf courses later this month. He may have to cancel and stay in the US to deal with whatever self created crisis he sparks week after week. Trump is likely unaware, as he seems to be of any matter related to the truth, that the GOP-tea has dumped him in the rubbish. Cleveland may feature Trump's riots but no Republican will soil themselves with Trump's history of racism featured in his complaint against a Federal Judge.

The beautiful part of Gingrich's yoga? Gingrich calls Trump's month long campaign against a Federal Judge, "sloppiness".

Gingrich, impeached by the House and fined $300,000, is groveling before Donald J. Trump. Maybe Gingrich thinks Trump will cover his unpaid bills at Tiffany's Fifth Ave?

The GOP-tea would be well advised to abandon Trump at Cleveland's convention. As a caution, an recognition of the threat to public safety, the Republican Party could take a pass, skip the convention and issue a Statement of Endorsement then leave Trump to twist in the wind.

Many will see they already have. Blood spilled at the Cleveland convention will soak into the Public perception of the GOP-tea for far longer than anyone cares to imagine and it will be squarely placed on Donald J. Trump's words that endorsed rioting.

The comment, in its brevity and precision, grants two points. The ignorance of Trump's use, in California, of prejudice and the utter stupidity of Donald J. Trump's plans to evade prosecution for fraud.

The purpose of Trump's prejudicial motivation was to block the release of public documents and depositions showing Trump's calculated fraud.

It is important to also note Trump is charged in the New York Attorney General's case with theft from 5,000 American Citizens with a forty million dollar judgment being sought.

The New York Supreme Court of Appeals has already rendered their decision, prosecution will proceeds despite Trump's counsel's efforts to challenge the case set in motion in 2013.

The GOP-tea has their candidate for the Presidency now publically shown engaged in a five year con and the disgusting and prejudiced attack on a Federal Judge.

The quoted comment above does more than any amplification presented here and it raises the quality of discussion in these deliberations of Trump's ongoing campaign of hate and contempt for the American Legal system.

This then is why the Republican Senate Majority Leader and Republican Speaker of the House have condemned Trump and few Republicans will likely attend the hate festival of Trump's coronation at Cleveland.

No one wants their photo op with Trump's glaring racism in every frame.

One comment seems to combine the idea that Trump's market research for prejudice is ongoing and somehow a television show is sort of like a fraud, which, in a way, all television "reality shows" are.

A brief examination of these concepts seems to confirm Trump's pattern of contempt for human beings in general. Together, the ideas do reveal a strange justification of both.

This 'testing' seems based on a year of Trump's campaign of prejudice for the Presidency following five years of a racist 'birther' campaign. Apparently, testing the political waters' depth of racism and hate is based on how many votes a bigot gets.

The idea of a test marketing of hate is hard to justify even if FOXNews has made a business of it providing Trump ample opportunity to express his 'birther' notions since 2011.

Trump's "plan" was to see how much hate he could throw on Mexicans, Muslims and Women to see what would stick and then base a Presidency on how much Trump felt the American Public should stomach of his prejudice. It defies reason and the concepts of a civilized human being's intent.

Comparing Trump's fraudulent "Trump University" to a television show seems to miss the part about forty million dollars in damages Trump is being prosecuted for by the Attorney General in New York.

Two points then.

Test marketing hate is the sickest con from Trump whose fraud, that took millions from 5,000 Americans in the New York suit, isn't a case of perfecting a business plan. It is planned prejudiced appeals for personal gain of the Presidency.

It is an undeniable pattern of contempt for all Americans who Trump targeted since 2011 to sell a campaign of 'birther' hate and for five years to rob millions under the guise of a fraud educational "institution".

If this is the justification of some admiration for Trump or accepting hate and fraud from the GOP-tea, that is either ignorance or a rationalization of Trump's criminal intent in both cases.

On Sunday, Trump doubled down on the idea. Asked on CBS whether a Muslim judge would be unfair given Trump’s plan to ban Muslims from the U.S, Trump responded: “Yeah. That would be possible, absolutely.”

What the Public will judge is clear enough.

Donald J. Trump is demanding the Federal Judge be removed from the case because Trump hates his parents' homeland.

Comical to a point.

The point the Public must judge is whether Donald J. Trump, who stole millions from 5,000 Americans as the suit contends, should pick his own judge.

That may be Donald's idea of how the Law should work because Donald had a TV show about Donald long ago.

The Public may not agree.

And, obviously the highest ranking Republican Members of Congress are telling Donald he is dead wrong.

But, as Trump's supporters know, racism comes at a cost Americans should be willing to pay if it makes Donald J. Trump happy to not go to jail for fraud.

The logic is inescapable. Just as Trump's pending conviction for fraud to the tune of $40,000,000.00 is.

Enjoy Cleveland Mr. Trump. Or the Clinton Correctional Facility at New York, which ever comes first.

I didn't even know about Adelson's wheelchair. Is that recent or long ago? And the new Governor of Texas Abbott is also wheelchair bound, so kudos to both men on overcoming a disability. What decisions specifically has the judge handed down that are biased against Trump ? For instance Gingrich is saying the case should have been dismissed because the lead plaintiff dropped out. I can't say if that is accurate not being a lawyer but although the lead plaintiff acts as a representative of the class there are still three lawsuits left so it doesn't seem an automatic disqualification.

Trump, by virtue of being white, has exactly the same right as any other citizen to decry the bias of a Judge regardless of the cause. If he feels the Judge is breaking hard on him because he is white, then that is a perfectly legitimate basis for calling out the Judge. America hasn't become a PC shooting gallery with "white guy" targets... or has it? Should white guys start wearing Yellow W letters to mark them as legitimate targets for harassment and deprivation of rights? It would seem one point of view is, because a Caucasian is white it doesn't matter why or what the cause of complaint, but that by being Caucasian they don't need any reason except the color of their skin.

The judge has played it pretty well down the middle I think. Trump was dead wrong in a legal sense to say the case should have been thrown out on summary judgment. A candidate needs to run for president and let his lawyers handle the courtroom drama. He has given up talking because the constant haraunging of Judge Curiel was starting to hurt him in the polls but the rulings have been more than fair IMO (the trial have been set for summer instead of Nov 2016....).

Trump clearly does not understand this and probably wouldn't care even if he did, but they would. And even if he were able to persuade them to file such a motion, it would fail, so the whole move would be pointless.

I think Trump is just testing the political waters and feeling out the mood of the country to see how these attacks will go over. The rulings haven't even been that unfavorable to him as far as I can tell, at least not notably biased.

The puffery and hard sell parts of the promotion are probably legal and par for the course in advertising to anyone with a minimally rational brain, the bit about "You'll be taught by Trump's handpicked experienced Real Estate professionals!"? if, contrary to The Apprentice, he wasn't personally involved in recruiting or evaluating these people -- that sounds actionable to me.

I just watched a Trump University commercial where he claimed to pick every instructor himself. So it would seem he had a lot more to do with it than what you mentioned.

That was part of the promotion aspect. I do believe he was lying.

The question is - can U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel fairly judge the case against Trump University, or should he recuse himself? Does this judge have a personal conflict of interest that would unfairly influence any ruling he may issue on this case? Will the judge's bias lead to a mistrial? As it is, the judge's political leanings may be grounds for an appeal.

The GOP didn't allow anything, if it were up to them, Trump would have never gotten this far. It was THE PEOPLE that choose him and rejected the entire Washington establishment as it was meant to be.

I didn't take the focus off on anything if you read....or read my past posts, I denounced Trump's comments, but unlike liberals that will NEVER fault liberals for anything, NO MATTER WHAT it just tickles me. But I have to say one thing, this PC that's gone haywire and the racist violent assaults on the Trump supporters is doing Trump a favor and that's a positive thing. The more we see hostile intimidation, sucker punches and brutal oppression of free speech by these people, you will see Trump's numbers grow.
