police - unfortunately - might have a tough time finding where it came from.

They will ask the 6-year old where he found it, ask him to show them. Then they will know.

At age 6, "don't touch, tell an adult about it" is the training. A $10 trigger lock would have made that gun a doorstop for any child.

Changing the Constitution can happen in 4 ways.

The method used most often (27 times) is for both houses propose an amendment with a two-thirds vote, and three-fourths of the state legislatures approve. The others all include 3/4 of the states approval. No mention of President in any of these methods. The 2nd amendment won't be modified in the next 50 yrs.

The owner of this gun MUST be jailed for such a stupid negligence.

Remember Columbine? The father left the safe open and his son was able to use his rifle to take the innocent lives of so many kids. The father was NEVER jailed! The justice system in USA is BRAINLESS.

Trump and all the useless politicians that CAN change the constitution but DON'T do so MUST be jailed. Ignoring such a stupid constitution that kills 40,000 people every year is a HUGE crime!!! We don't need such STUPIDITY as the right to bear arms!! How about voters - why the voters elect such politicians that ONLY cut cheese, and NEVER say or do anything smart!!! How about famous people who can do a lot good to their country using their fame but don't do! I don't hear anything smart from anybody! Disgusting to hear about how RICH is who. Talk about MODESTY and KINDNESS instead!! Is anybody who really cares and really knows what to do?

The story doesn't say if the gun was his parents, a friend's parents or was found in an empty lot, discarded by a criminal on the run.

Given there are who-knows how many million guns in the US, given there are who-knows how many million American whacks who have guns and leave them lying around, and given how many guns have had any tracking info erased some way, police - unfortunately - might have a tough time finding where it came from.

Figure out where the boy found/got the gun and arrest the owner for child endangerment.
