Two of the mass shooters in the last week bought their guns legally. One of them just a week before. Imagine if he'd been forced to wait two weeks...
In the US? No. The NRA has ensured that there aren't.

I am agnostic about the whole gun control issue, but how "easy" is legal access to guns, anyway? Are there not strict rules in place already? And about illegal ones, the idea that a new law would make them disappear is absurd.

The nut jobs are making their presence known now. Tis' the season it seems.

Oh, I’m sure it will be.

Can you believe Trump kicked this problem down the line to the next administration?
Talk about a failure.
bass4funk
Ok, so you’re pointing to one problem, how about flipping that coin over and looking at the other underlying problem.

So why aren’t the gun laws especially in blue states severely enforced? Let me guess, it’s Trump’s fault?

Maybe it has something to do with the Philadelphia District Attorney's policy of releasing violent criminals into the community. The DA, Larry Krasner, was elected with funding from one of George Soros's front organizations.

The above an example of gun extremist 'reasoning'. Background checks are mentioned triggering a 'government threatens to take away our firearms' Cue Carole King's 'Smackwater Jack'. 'You can't talk to a man, with a shotgun in his hand/'when he don't want to understand'.
The death toll mounts as the guns pandemic spreads unabated. bang bang shoot shoot

Who?? No one is defending this idiot.
No Wild West, you just need to strictly enforce the gun laws that are already on the books.
40.7% in that state own a gun if these gun owners were unhinged the murder rate given the number of gun owners would be off the charts, it’s not. Let’s leave the emotion out of this argument.
bass4funk
Good question, I want to know myself, but obviously someone in these peoples families know that one of their loved ones has a mental problem and how they got their hands on a firearm is a mystery to me. If any of my family members had a mental disorder, they wouldn’t get anywhere near my guns, that's a promise because I keep everything locked up. This is what responsible gun owners would do.
On that part
But that won’t happen
Bob Fosse
Sounds like a good idea.
Bob Fosse
So how do these idiots get their hands on firearms? Seems like an obvious problem to me.
Toasted Heretic
The selfish apologists for wanton murder and the gun cult, will be defending this latest shining example of freedom.
The US will be stuck in the wild west era until serious gun laws are enacted upon.
Gun supporters should be mentally evaluated. Especially when they come out with their pro-gun spiel after such a tragedy.
ArtistAtLarge
Seems like America is back to normal.
bass4funk
Well, many of us feel the same way about gun haters that want to blame everything on the inanimate object. “Oh, let’s ban guns again argument?”
Bob Fosse
All this argument bolsters is that America has more idiots. Inanimate object? That chestnut again?
Goodlucktoyou
It seems the solution is mandatory laws requiring US citizens to carry semi automatic rifles when leaving their homes. That way, if there is an incident, responsible citizens can quickly neutralize any perceived threats.
bass4funk
What is sick are the people and idiots that do things like this. Normal and sane people would never do anything like this, this is the problem, not the inanimate object and people like this should be mentally evaluated and that’s the REAL problem that the left refuses to take a look at. For them it’s always guns first and that in itself is a sick obsession.
oldman_13
Something like the 7th mass shooting in America within the last 7 days. Utterly sickening, America's obsession with guns.
bass4funk
You make it sound the entire State of Pennsylvania is burning down. 40.7% of people in that State are registered gun owners, the perpetrator had a “hand gun” of course any shooting like this is sad and tragic, but the guy doesn’t represent 99.9% of the law abiding gun owners. What really is sick is when the left try to paint the law abiding citizens that use and care for their guns properly as being so habitually dishonest.
Why should law abiding responsible gun owners be responsible for what this guy did?
That’s an entirely different story as well as a quick knee-jerk emotional reaction to incidents like this one and as long as the government threatens to take away our firearms unlawfully and without proper justification, yes, something could happen. Better for the government to go after those that violate already strict laws in place, these people should be punished according to what the laws allow. Enforce these existing laws and you’ll start it see less of these incidents.
Bob Fosse
What’s your point? He wasn’t having a happyday?

“A man” fired a handgun.....

Once again the guns and ammo industries backed by their shareholders profit while gun madness sinks US society even deeper. Gun sickness is an American pandemic that's been allowed to worsen, spreading across all caste levels. The likelihood of anything meaningful being done to even try to slow the pandemic is near zero because gun extremists - many with private arsenals rivaling military platoons - have threatened the next civil war if reasonable people even suggest changes like background checks.
ulysses
Idiots with guns will do idiotic things.
Easy access to weapons is a serious problem now, when will the gun loving bigots understand????

Just another day.
