“High school playoff football should be a cause for community celebration, not the backdrop for panic and terror,” Murphy said Saturday. “Last night was a stark reminder that no community is immune from gun violence, and that we must not ever give up in our efforts to prevent such senseless acts.”

Then get rid of the guns, America, and grow up!

 result of “petty vengeance.”

And people carrying guns to shoot others.

Not a single mass shooting here in Japan. Something works.

Japan has its own share of problems, each country has them and Japan is NO paradise.

It certainly is when it comes to gun homicides. It's heaven.

Yes, but again, Japan has its own internal social struggles, so I wouldn't put a happy face on it.

Why are you comparing suicides to mass shootings. If people commit suicide it usually only involves their own life. Mass shootings take the the lives of other. No comparison.

It doesn't matter, killing in mass or taking ones own life and inflicting emotional damage on loved ones equates to the same thing. Don't give me this Japan is better speech. No country is perfect. If you want to debate the gun issue, fine. But give the impression that Japan is some problem less utopia is just flat out wrong.

Question: How come Obama, when he had a super majority in Congress, couldn't "get rid of the guns"?

Probably something to do with the fact that U.S. citizens have the right to bear arms, guaranteed by the Constitution and it will remain that way until our sun burns out.

Bass: Japan has its own share of problems, each country has them and Japan is NO paradise.

Japan is a paradise if you are inclined to micromanage other people’s lives.

zichi: Cost of American gun homicide $229 billion per year. Japan cost zero.

If you are a believer in subjecting the rights of individuals to a cost benefit analysis you would likely be more comfortable living under communism rather than in a democracy. The right to self defense is a basic human and civil right.
