My guess is that if Nigerians of Muslim and Christian faiths can not get along, time to BREAK UP NIGERIA, make a new country for 1 religion and another country for other religions, because this could break down into a messy religious civil war. RIP victims of any and all religions. What a mess!

Normally I would say that's a ridiculous idea Elbuda, but under the circumstances...

It has already had one bloody and messy religious civil war. From 1967 to 1970. - Biafra (Igbos in the Southwest) was the name of the country until it was violently forced back into Nigeria. The Biafran civil war was the spark that began Doctors Without Borders - Médecins Sans Frontières.

With the Muslims in the north, and Christians (with money i.e. oil) in the south, another civil war is bound to break out.

The Christians from the south-east (the Igbos) already tried that back in the 60s but the British helped prevent it.

Really, Nigeria shouldn't even be 'one' country. It only is because of European colonialism.

Guns Don't Kill People. People with Guns Do.

Gunmen massacred at least 26 people in a student housing area of northeast Nigeria on Tuesday, calling victims out by name before shooting them or slitting their throats, officials said. This is the most insane thing I have read in a while... WTF.

It is being reported that the police raided the dorms just last week looking for Boko Haram members, confiscating serious weaponry in the process.

If this is true, then other scenarios come to mind...

@Julian, I did not know that the British had done this to that part of Africa, but it does not surprise me. Now it is makes sense, maybe the UK can try to make up for the mess it has caused in that part of the world??

Waiting for the motive still. And once again Islam divides houses. North and south Somalia, North and south Nigeria... North and South Africa....How long until the North tries to take over the south?

Sorry Dictatator, Muslims live in peace in many other parts of the world but sadly enough not in Nigeria. Also Islam is not the only religion in the world that can be intolerant of others!! Just ask the Jews and Muslims and Protestant Christians etc... that were tortured in Spain during the Inquisition etc...

Nigeria is a bit like Mexico and other colonized countries in Latin America so I can understand the pain and suffering better than those who come from countries that did the colonizing, IMHO

Elbud, It would be good for you to find out HOW the inquisition and the crusades were started in the first place and where they learned that method from. It would also help for you to figure out that christians understood that both the crusades and the inquisition were the wrong way to go about things quite a long time ago, while fundamental muslims still believe that subjugation of others is STILL the way to spread their ideology and beliefs.

Allow me to be the first to welcome you to the 21st century...
