Wrong, and wrong. There is no substantial difference between the various Sunni jihadi groups such as ISIS; Al Quaeda, Al Shabbab, etc etc. They are united by a common ideology, with personal links often changing.
And there is nothing "hindsight" about criticising Obamas misguided and illegal intervention to removed Gaddafi; plenty of people warned about it and predicted the result, including on this very readers forum.
Obamas misguided support of the "Arab spring" and the Muslim Brotherhood has been a consistent problem, and it is ongoing as we speak (witness the current support of the "vetted rebels" to replace Assad in Syria.)

@Burning Bush
The islamists in charge in Lybia aren't sharing their oil wealth with Western oil companies, either. Time for you to turn the Putin telescreen off and go outside.

My point is that democracy is not born in an instant. When the Arab Spring began, Obama had three choices: side with those seeking freedom, the dictators, or do nothing.cont
It took America well over a hundred years to work out the kinks in its system (though kinks remain), and this was from a society well-versed in English law. They will work it out as well if given the chance - and that would never come under continued dictatorship.

Yup, got rid of Saddam, Khadafi, Mubarak etc.. Things much better now.......aren't they?? (Cough cough....)

So how did getting rid of Gadaffi improve things in Libya?
Laguna
They were not all Al-Qaeda. Hindsight is plenty 20-20; Obama could have left them to the tender mercies of Gadaffi, and that would have been that - except that the internal stresses that the country must work out would remain unresolved.
Your remark could well be rephrased, "So, Marquis de Lafayette, your support of those 'freedom fighters' aka American independence seekers worked out great, didn't it?" after the Battle of Antietam. Some things take time.

The anarchy in Libya, Yemen, and Syria are the result of foreign policy's failure of Obama's coalition to nowhere. There will be more death and misery in Libya. Soon, Iraq and Afghanistan might follow same pattern. Remember the "reset" button with Putin, and now the detente with Iran? Congress just got more documents on Benghazi from W.H. that were not "spontaneous" available to early investigation. The world is more chaos in years to come. Thanks to Obama and libs.

That's not the problem, that's what differentiates us from them.

Couple of things, why in the hell does twitter, youtube, facebook and other social media allow these terrorist groups to post, they should be deleting their accounts, don't allow them to spread their propaganda and messages of hatred.
Secondly notice that the scum bag Nazih Abdul-Hamed al-Ruqai, also known as Abu Anas al-Libi. Al-Ruqai was in hospital receiving first class medial care at the expense of the tax payers of the country these people hate so much. Many US cittzens would not be able to receive the same level of care.
Did he have Obama Care ?
Other countries would not have afforded this POS any medical care and he would have been left to suffer and die of his ailment.
Sometimes I think the west is too soft, too humane and too caring, that could be some of the problem.

Had visited Tripoli in 1990 during a ship port stay and was highly impressed by this clean port city .Post "Qaddafi Revolution" Libya has become a war zone drifting into civil war and chaos.Personally have wonderful memories of Tripoli of 1990.
SenseNotSoCommon
Pretty crap security for the PM's residence.

Don't neglect the support for the "Arab Spring", another poor choice of support. Oh wait, them Syrian Rebels too!

So, Mr. Obama, your support of those "freedom fighters" aka Al Quaida in Libya worked out great, didn´t it! Are you happy seeing the jihadist hellhole that Libya has descended into since your illegal support of those wonderful democrats?
